    Lots of useful tips here! The plugin related key commands and plugin folder customisation ones are going to be particularly useful in my case. I also noticed that once the plug-in selection list is open, you can easily navigate it with the keyboard, e.g. hit 'R' to open the Reverb group, then navigate the list with cursor keys and finally enter/return to load the selected plugin, it makes the plugin selection process much faster. If only there was a key command to open the plug in list on the selected track, then one wouldn't even need to move the mouse to add a new plugin to a track.

    I wasn't aware of the the chase MIDI feature! I'm making a lot of ambient/drone music and individual chords sometimes last very long so I'm wasting a lot of time just rewinding back to the beginning and sometimes that solution might not even work, given that some songs have interweaving rhythms where there is no clear loop with a beginning to rewind to.

    Excellent video. I think one small point you sort of miss about the Freeze track functionality: namely, that it, in essence, temporarily renders the track, which frees up CPU by not running plugins etc on the fly. This used to matter a lot more in the bad old days when CPUs and drives had a harder time of keeping up.

  • @ErikAnders
    @ErikAnders 3 года назад

    Nice tips. I’d like to add that simply turning off a track power button does not turn off the plugins. If you hold option while clicking the power off it will turn the Plugins off entirely as well as if you do so on a track Stack, it will turn off all plugins in the entire stack.

    I was into Logic since... 4.5 or 4.7 I guess? Yes, just MIDI and Sys-Ex and all this stuff and Audio was a pain in the ass back then in the beginning. But after 12 years using worn out old equipment to make some music, I finally got me a brand new MacBook Pro with latest logic and it turns out like cultural shock to me. It sure will take a lot of time to figure out what is really helpful in my musical works but videos like yours are a great help to catch up with the present :)
