Yeah, but it can easily be argued that you didn't really put your heart and soul into the game if you only got the birdhouse at the end.

The way Mario shows up after the final boss and steal the statue always make me laugh, even after all those years.

According to the story it belongs to the Mushroom Kingdom and was stolen from them first. Mario probably knew Wario would keep it for himself so he came by to prevent that lol

The sprite work in this game is amazing.

@@ViorbyXIf I recall correctly, somebody stole the statue from the Mushroom Kingdom. What likely happened is that Mario knew Wario would go after the statue, and waited until just the right moment to take it back to its proper home.
Can we talk about what a banger the boss theme is?
I like how the penguin boss at 1:28 is the only one to have a door so Wario can be like "Fuck this, I'm out" at any point.

You know the turtle Is vulnerable while he is rising toward the ceiling or descending into the ground.

The jenie battle is a bottle flip challenge. Literally 😂
In mario land. The bosses bah when hit. But in this game they meow
Spiked Pirate:You can hit its underside while the shell is floating up (before it flips upside down),thus making the boss quicker to defeat.
Bīfun:Just spam Wario's shoulder bash and quickly toss him when you get the chance.
Bobo:You can bounce off the enemies' heads and land a hit on the boss's head (only works for the first hit).
Zenisukī:Its movement pattern is mostly predictable. Jump at the ghost enemies from below and toss them back at the boss as quickly as possible (just be sure to watch where the boss is before throwing the enemy).
awesome game, I used to be very good at it. But I suck so bad now -.-
These bosses are pretty good for Game Boy standards. I expected them to lag because of all the stuff onscreen, but then realized KIRBY's Dream Land had a lot of stuff like that, but much lesser than other Game Boy titles at the time.
The way how Funfun always had his eyes completely tracked on you creeped me out for some reason. How were they able to do that flawlessly on a GB?! (Without lazily using the typical 8-direction movement)

The lamp, which Wario borrows at the end wasn't the main objective. The whole reason why he went to Kitchen Island is to take Princess Peach's Statue from Captain Syrup and keep it for ransom. So the lamp was likely a second chance for Wario to get a castle.

Not really! The birdhouse returns in world 2-1, when Wario chases goons after they raided Wario's Castle and they scared Wario's hen and Wario must bring hen back to proceed the pursuit.

I think it's pretty sad how hinyari is a boss you can just skip completely if you just go to the boss door during it's battle
When the first boss floats upwards, with the soft side down, you can walk under it and jump to hit it. Not sure if that only works with the viking helmet. You might know that already, but hey, I mention it for nostalgic reasons.
I prefer more this wario design than the new design

As a kid I was always a little weirded out by Funfun. The boss of the fire world is basically a head that hucks its loogies at you. Oookay 😂
They somehow managed to make a splash of lava look badass on the Game Boy, though. I always pictured Wario standing on overheated rocks as the glow of the lava splash illuminates his determined face as he glares up at Funfun with grit teeth, ready to "WAHH" that man's whole career. Unfortunately, even with the Game Boy Color's coloration, I still imagined much of the background as swampy green, so I pictured the lava as spinach dip with orange zest, but Wario's color scheme and 2005 GameCube look remained.
I have trouble passing the fat Genie boss since I keep getting killed by the projectiles and I thought you throw the lamp at the person on the Genie.

Only game i ve completed 100% ever i think. You can also use the clouds multiple times so one cloud lets you jump on the last bosses head like 3 times

You don't even need to puffs from the lamp when you have that hat on, you can kill the genie in like 20 seconds or quicker

So perhaps I'm mistaken, but isn't how genies usually work which is that they grant you three wishes, rather act as a realtor to sell you property?

This game is ridiculously hard. Especially after Mario Land 2. I fucking hated this game as a kid. I was fucking pissed that it didn't have Mario.

With the first boss, when he is spinning in the air with his belly down, you get hit him without taking damage.
I remember once i saw that birdhouse for the 1st time when i beated this game for the first time, i was like “huh,, WTF”.
I love how they put a door where you can easily just skip the third boss.
Well, Sherbet Land is an optional world, so it makes sense that the boss is optional as well.
You dont need the lamp at the last boss when you have the jethelmet , super high jump and sweeping again and again against the head easy as eating pie

I remember first playing this game, and and never could figure out that the woman with the genie was Captain Syrup. I just got to the boss room and wondering who the heck was this lady.

I remember there being several different endings to this game. Depending on the ammount of coins snd treasures Wario has and gives to the genie, the castle Wario wishes for is different. Obviously the more he has, the better the castle. The bird house and hollowed out tree being the worst endings.

If you consider the fact that Wario is demanding the genie grant him wishes after inflicting pain and suffering on him, I think its demands for money in exchange for the wish might not be unreasonable. Poor guy probably has no medical insurance, and the $8000 wasn't enough to pay those bills, hence the birdhouse.
Entering cheat mode . Start 16 times select and then making the time to 999 and also the coins and when you exit with the cursor on the headicon you can „ upgrade“ wario as you please ;D

For Wario land snake it they can just port it to the switch because it doesn’t need a remake and for Wario land 4 they just change the graphics (and update the music) and that’s it since the gameplay and controls are both perfect.
