Wisconsin Public Land Turkey - Sleep in for Mid-Season Gobblers

This was my 3rd bird for the season (2023) and things didn't go as planned but sometimes that is what makes it fun. After setting my alarm wrong, I found myself getting creative with my daylight access only to find a gobbler that I had spotted the night before waiting on me. He was pinned down by hens but during this time of the year I knew it was only a matter of time before they went to nest and I would get my opportunity. It's a term that I call "panic gobbling". When the hens leave, it's like they are lost, crying out for the next available lady to come to their calls. Instead of a hen, he found me. Maybe I'll start sleeping in all of the time.
