THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TUTORIAL!! I have been trying to figure out how to create watercolor artwork on my iPad mini for a while now! I was going to bring my own supplies, and take it with me, but then realized it would be less of a mess and hassle if I use an iPad instead.

Thank you for the tutorial! In the demo, you mentioned that one could change something about the blending mode - I don't know why but in your demo it blended so beautifully and I just don't get that effect, although I copied every step you showed... could you elaborate on said blending mode?
Hey! If you followed the steps, there shouldnt be a problem and a need for adjusting the blending mode 😊! (By “changing the way it blends” I meant the Wet mix settings, specifically “Pull” setting.) Possible reasons the brush isn’t flowing as shown in the video might be the way You control it. To replicate a realistic watercolor effect I paint slowly and I tilt the brush a bit, as mentioned in the video. It helps the brush strokes to act almost like water. If that makes sense?😅 Its hard to tell why it’s not working the same way for You, but I think it might be the pressure You apply to each brush stroke and the tilt of the brush( I basically “paint “ with the side of the pencils tip)! 😊 I hope this helps!
I'm don't seem to be able to get your results with blending / bleed the colors into one another. Could it be 'cos I'm using metapen (not pressure sensitive) rather than apple pencil?
@@3vii678 If You are talking about the Grain and Shape source (stamps and grains), You can selected them fron the default Procreate shapes and grains. Like I have shown in the video! :)
@@beajive16 Hey! I would suggest going through the tutorial again, because if You did actually watch the whole thing, it should blend, because the main water mix settings are quiet high for this brush! :)
Thank You very much!☺️❤️ I personally started with used bamboo drawing tablet- surface 😅, witch I plugged in the pc. And I used the free Sketchbook app, later I switched to Krita. I think its a good start, even if You already have an experience with digital art. I made some great stuff, even though my tools were pretty cheap😀! And only when You feel like Your art has advanced and could use a tool- tablet upgrade, I would suggest getting a tablet like Ipad or so. Do not feel like You cant start and make great stuff, just because You cant buy the most expensive stuff out there - right away! Good luck! 🌞
Hey! I am happy You found a solution to the problem! 😌 I would also like to give You a tip, that by applying less pressure (when drawing) and building, and pushing the “paint “ around, will create more of the watercolor feel and effect! ☺️ Enjoy ! 💫
Does it work if you don’t have an Apple Pencil? I did everything in this tutorial and it doesn’t exactly have that opaque look on the sides and it doesn’t exactly get less opaque the more I use it :(
I dont think there are much options for brush editing and usage if You are not drawing with an Apple Pencil. Apple Pencil lets You control the pressure, and thats how You can controll how much paint is being applied (the opacity). If You want to replicate traditional mediums in Procreate, You do need an Apple Pencil! 🙂
I have tried making this brush so many times but it doesn’t look like yours. I’ve also made your hard edge brush and it’s not the same. It doesn’t blend like yours does. Do you know where I could be going wrong?
@@Snazee_doodles If You watched each step very carefully without skipping through anything, then You have edited it the right way. But , I am guessing that the problem is in the way You are using it. You need to control Your pressure, when using the brushes. Also, in each video I explained how I use these brushes, so everything should be as shown in the video. Also, are You using an Apple pencil? Because these brushes wont work without it. 😊
@@LaumaBelska Thank-you for your feed back! I actually was using a dupe, I’m currently setting up my new iPad and Apple Pencil pro, can’t wait to have another go. Thank-you again.
Hey! To start editing a brush, You just need to tap on it. To find more shapes or granes, once You have tapped on the brush, when going to the “Shape” or “Grain” settings, at the very top ( in the middle, above the image of shape or grain 😅) there should be and “Edit” option. And then You need to choose the Library option. Thats where all the original Procreate shape and grain options are stored 😊. I hope this helped!
I am guessing that You are adding alot of pressure to the pen right away, which is why Your brush strokes look opaque. As I mentioned in the video - just like with a real watercolor- You need to build up the paint in layers, and by lightly “blending” out the brush stroke, You will see how the paint is being pushed around the canvas. My suggestion is - If You followed every step of the video, You just need to patiently, without rushing, apply the “paint “ and pressure in layers. 😊
