If you can win enough that streaming plus gauntlet money equals rich person. I like to think that if you are a competitor and you think you can stream full time and the stream pays the bills and win 1 out of three gauntlets is a sizable enough “bonus”. The key is creating a streamer class of “racer” that is bigger than single digits to create advertising and dug to make the prize pool bigger. It turns into a circular formula that if the whole equation is set up for PoE2 launch it could be huge for creating an Avenue to live while becoming a competitor for the gauntlet
I think in order for more people to commit to gauntlet like ben/exile do you would need to likely double the prize pool (min) and increase how many places can finish. Cause currently only 2 overall and 2 per class can place for prize money and with how many people are going for it make a lot feel like its likely not worth investing the time just to have to compete for 2 spots that ben/exile are likely to snag
It’s literally part of the competition, we just need people to become just as good or better. Most people are complaining that they are… too good? Making rules just because two people are dominating is stupid ngl
@@purplexiedlive8309 but at the same time ppl won't get better if they think it's not worth the time to practice because they can't beat the other top players
@@purplexiedlive8309 lol that's just not true, it's just that getting this good takes many many hours of practice and ppl don't see an ROI to put that much time into a video game and get most likely nothing out of it because other ppl have been practicing this amount for years
@@hogmuncher That goes against the fabric of being a competitor. Kids, teens, even adults dream of being athletes , in the face of people that are elite who they would have to be better than to "win." The people you're speaking for, that feel that way, would find another reason, if you solved that problem. Comes down to having the heart of a competitor or not.
I hope @steelmage would dissect Ben's gauntlet run after the whole thing is done, breaking down to us some 5head plays and techs that he used like the Huck aura. Hard to appreciate top players' thoughts and execution when we dont even understand the intricacies of the run. Would love to hear some thoughts from steel about his gaunlet run as well, hope you could convince him mr.toad
afaik, tink is the bttv emote that chat uses where it says "Fuck you" with the neversink's filter divine-tier drop format. So I suposse "My tink" means "my drop" (?) xD
also probably less likely but also cuz people like to also map while watching him so he says "my tink" so you dont think you dropped a divine 2 screens away in your map and run back for no reason :D
Of course, more money = more people interested. But at the end of the day, you can have like a $100 prize pool for something like play pool, doing a marathon etc. and still have a lot of people show up. Why? Because it's interesting. Same goes for PoE. I'll be honest, though it's interesting to watch "you guys" play the gauntlet since you guys have fun. You'd better put me on suicide watch if *I* have to play the gauntlet. It's not interesting for me, and I'd assume for a lot more people. And that's just that.
I'm so happy that there is videos now for steelmage streams, after years of just missing his stream 99.9% of the time. Love it!
