Well damn, can't believe I missed this when I was browsing the channel last night and commented on the original tier list. In the og game, you couldn't use the tower to get an advantage either because the villagers would throw molotovs up there to kill you. Oh, I have a crush on REmake 4 Ashley.
I think they meant that she had a legitimate reason to run away from Leon in the remake where's in the og she had no reason to run away from him at all
I didnt find it all that good. There are some things I loved like the knife parry but the movement was veeeeery slow and getting a stun or a kick, which were almost guaranted after a headshot in the original, are much more rare here making professional a nighmare

Krauser's story wasn't cut compare to the original. It the original he had less screen time than Luis while Luis barely had any. Now Krauser has a whole аss tragic backstory which wasn't explained in the original and hid whole character and the fight with him is used perfectly to flesh out Leon's characters in the remake. The fight is better and there are more of them. And they harder and more fair.

Between RE2, RE4, FF7, Dead Space, Silent Hill2. We have been getting spoiled with absolute masterpiece remakes. RE3 wash disappointing but you can’t win all the time.
i use red 9 for highest damage pistol in game riot shotgun mainly because it has the least spread. killer 7 for crit damage red laser and broken butterfly has insane aim time. then i use tmp because it has higher singe target then the mp5 plus u get it right away and u get mp5 really really late. i dont really use a rifle you barely ever shoot an enemy beyond 50 yards away and it competes with my sub machine gun ammo plus i am not carrying 6 guns in the case its to much space.
@@thegrayone5666 the deluxe edition pistol is pretty solid too. shotgun highest damage but to much spread. striker has insane spread too. what's the point of a shotgun if you keep missing a couple pellets a lot. big spread is only good for 3 enemies in your face or more.

Take off your nostalgia glasses for a second and realize that the remake is basically just an improvement in every way without messing with what made the og good and fun. Nobody is calling the og bad, but the remake is just better.

I played the original after the remake and I find the original better only for a few reasons: the soundtrack, the interactions between Leon and the villains, and the fact that there wasn’t 15 different micro transactions. The original, as far as I know, was not nearly this much pay to win. I mean dude, all you have to do on your first play through is this. Get 3 S ranks on mercenaries mode, play the game until chapter 2 when you meet the merchant, go to the PlayStation store and buy one upgrade ticket. And then boom you can now have an endless ammo gun on the first play through because of the hand-cannon. The original also I feel was much better with the tank controls. The controls made a risk reward system where you could shoot the guy in front of you but maybe there is a garrador rushing behind you. That created at least a little fear, unlike the remake. The remake just isn’t scary. Once again I love the remake but I just find those things I mentioned earlier made the original much better.
The Remake of RE4 is more streamlined and more grounded than the original. They reworked some encounters, moved up some boss battles, changed a few details but overall the Remake does the original game justice. Ashley is competent and not annoying like she was in the original as well. I'm pretty sure the IT bossfight will be in a DLC with Separate Ways, if it is in the works. My guess is that the 2nd Verdugo will transform into the U-3 and will fight Ada.
Was not expecting the S rank. Don't get me wrong I think its S rank tier, but a lot of people have been hating on it. It's kind of one of those titles in the series the hipsters hate it because its different.

@@Wassyl71 I hated Salazar’s boss fight because it was boring. He just kept clipping around and you had to run around a pillar the entire time. Salazar as a character felt bad in general in this go around but that’s probably my only big gripe. I would say skill issue but I A ranked Hardcore my first go and am halfway through professional so I don’t think thats the issue

I have a feeling IT will be a boss fight potentially final boss for Ada's story since how the events of RE 4 Remake change Krauser's fate so I could see her beat it and then Saddler backstab her or do something similar which will lead to her capture and I assume you'll get to unlock her OG outfit just like you do for the Gangster and Knight Ashley.

The biggest crime this remake did was add RNG to headshot stagger animation. It's complete bullshit that you can shoot a MF'R up to 3x before the game will initiate a melee prompt and the dev's hide behind the argument that it would make the game too easy. No one complained about it then in the OG and the way you mitigate that is what they do for Professional Mode. Just have parrying be perfect parry only. Adding randomness to make things more "difficult" is never ok. Also making the vest have durability and needing to be repaired was a stupid idea.
I didn’t ever have an issue with that. I’m pretty sure the probability of getting a stagger depends on weapon stats, but either way it didn’t even annoy me because there are more ways to kill enemies, mainly the much improved melee
games so good best resident evil game ever made. if they remake 5 just copy this game for 5 remake. taking a break so i don't get burnt out waiting on mercenaries. deserves s+ tier.
RE5 is so goofy and silly sometimes. Also, the level design is a huge downgrade compared to 4. It's like playing a CoD game, not a resident evil game. There was basically no exploring and backtracking.

@VampireA1056 yes, it's basically a staple for RE games for me. The only reason RE5 was decent for me was Wesker. Every other returning character was worse than what they used to be. Jill was basically fan service fuel and basically no character except just stand there and be saved outside of the boss fight with wesker. I just wish they did better with it. It had so much potential after 4, but what was popular at the time was what they went for.

RE3R in D tier? Come on, bro. It was extremely disappointing as a remake, but it's still really fun as its own thing. Valen-time was a cool way to frame RE3's dodge mechanic and Carlos got the galaxy's biggest glow-up.
The original was just far better. Nemesis finally fight when I was a kid was so hard for some reason but was so rewarding when I finally got em down. Fairly certain my mom helped me through one or two parts. She would play levels and missions in games I had a hard time with. Sega games were hard especially for me for some reason and can’t remember even why looking back.. lol cheers

U3 being cut wasnt a big surprise. I remember that boss not being a huge part of the game or story. Saddler said it himself pretty much: "since you're here, why dont i introduce you to it? It should keep you busy". U3 was just a temporary obstacle for leon at saddlers convenience. But i don't like the redesign of salazars fight. He looks like a flying mop. Edit: then again, U3 probably isnt cut at all. They probably are saving U3 for seperate ways. Same with the gondola lift. We all saw it next to the villa (cabin fight with luis), we're probably gonna see that in adas campaign as well. Hopefully they nerfed the battle ship sequence this time, i remember that part in the original was stressful as fuck. I played through it once for the Chicago typewriter, and never again.
One complaint I hear about Ashley from fanboys is they made her the equivalent of a sorta "strong female" type of character (ei. Rey Skywalker or Cap. Marvel). Except if you actually play the game, it's still the same Ashley from the OG, just not as annoying. And as someone who IS a fanboy as well, I'll admit that shit is just petty.
I don't know how anyone can say they changed her into a "strong female". By, trying to help at points? She's still a scared defenseless young woman that's only keeping it together because Leon Goddamn Kennedy is delivering his knife firmly down the Ganado's throats.
I think a for RE4 is perfect. Back when it was new, playing it for the hundreds of hours that I did as a kid, it was S tier at the time, definitely. But because it was the big departure away from horror in Resi, the trend-setter for a lot of the awful shit in the game industry after its release, and because of the extra bloat just makes it such a long drag even on repeat playthroughs, it goes down to A comfortably.
I think 7 deserves to be there. Awesome add-on content, very under appreciated soundtrack, very charismatic, sympathetic and brilliantly voice acted villains, they nailed the horror/action balance, good pacing, keeps you tight on inventory space and ammunition, madhouse difficulty is cool asf, didn’t need to bring in lots of old characters to carry it (but that Chris design was awful), good weapon balance, unforgettable VR experience, great level design, lots of hidden items, it resurrected Capcom etc. Ethan may not have been great but I liked having a blank slate character to keep things more focused on Mia and the Bakers since the plot revolves around them. The setting was very cool too and felt more grounded in reality than what Village had.
@TurTle I understand how important 7 is, given that we wouldnt have 2 and 4 remake without it. It's also very important to me for personal reasons as well. None of that changes that it's still a very lackluster game as a whole. The "return to classic Resi form" is about half-baked. Everything about the game after Margeurite leaves a lot to be desired. The Bakers are the only worthwhile characters, as Ethan, Mia, and Eveline are all mostly annoying. If it had been played through the eyes of just Zoe having to cope with her family's change and trying to save them and had more use out of the Baker house throughout the game, it would have been a lot more interesting.

Remake is awesome but it definitely falls behind the og in certain areas. weapon balancing, difficulty tuning, inconsistent combat (stealth alert, dr salvador teleports, etc) creativity, ruined ada, micro transactions and p2w cheats are some examples that the remake did worse than og.

I agree with all of their negatives but they forgot two: Ashley wrecking a mile of Saddler's Island in the front-loading dump truck. Instead they replaced it with a gratuitous wrecking ball 'protect the flag' sequence. Salazar's mecha statue sequence got removed. Lame.
No one cares about it being in separate ways. We want to fight the boss with Leon and do laser dodging moves with Leon. That’s a part of his story, separate ways is Ada’s story
Man, lots of people don't realize how close this Ashley is to the original, all they did was remove all skill needed to protect her and add more interactions with Leon, but she's practically the same as the original in terms of character. My guess for why people don't like her is because they never got good at handling her and kept hearing her scream for their attention and that's all they remembered of her

@Edwin Calderon actually many people have complained about the voice you just don’t get to see them because of the fact that Ada’s voice is the one getting highlighted. At first I hated the new voice but now it’s grown on me. Nowhere as good as the campy original but is fine on its own right

I wholly agree.. but I feel like it is to distance the character from DC Douglas after all the allegations and the shit from him violating his NDA.
Too bad the only gore that got cut off from 4 Remake was the one where Leon's face melted form that Eviscerator. But the villagers gore got ramped up.
I forgot to mention even the Chainsaw death was slight ramped down. No head decapitated.

RE5 is so goofy and silly sometimes. Also, the level design is a huge downgrade compared to 4. It's like playing a CoD game, not a resident evil game. There was basically no exploring and backtracking.
@@DragonDDark I disagree, yes it was kinda silly, The level design was alright, it doesn't have to be better than 4 to be good. And there is tons of exploration and backtracking, and is no backtracking really a bad thing? RE5 is my second favorite Resident Evil game behind the original RE4 ( haven't played the Remake yet )
@VampireA1056 yes, it's basically a staple for RE games for me. The only reason RE5 was decent for me was Wesker. Every other returning character was worse than what they used to be. Jill was basically fan service fuel and basically no character except just stand there and be saved outside of the boss fight with wesker.
I just wish they did better with it. It had so much potential after 4, but what was popular at the time was what they went for.

RE3R in D tier? Come on, bro. It was extremely disappointing as a remake, but it's still really fun as its own thing. Valen-time was a cool way to frame RE3's dodge mechanic and Carlos got the galaxy's biggest glow-up.

The original was just far better. Nemesis finally fight when I was a kid was so hard for some reason but was so rewarding when I finally got em down. Fairly certain my mom helped me through one or two parts. She would play levels and missions in games I had a hard time with. Sega games were hard especially for me for some reason and can’t remember even why looking back.. lol cheers

U3 being cut wasnt a big surprise. I remember that boss not being a huge part of the game or story. Saddler said it himself pretty much: "since you're here, why dont i introduce you to it? It should keep you busy". U3 was just a temporary obstacle for leon at saddlers convenience. But i don't like the redesign of salazars fight. He looks like a flying mop.
Edit: then again, U3 probably isnt cut at all. They probably are saving U3 for seperate ways. Same with the gondola lift. We all saw it next to the villa (cabin fight with luis), we're probably gonna see that in adas campaign as well. Hopefully they nerfed the battle ship sequence this time, i remember that part in the original was stressful as fuck. I played through it once for the Chicago typewriter, and never again.

One complaint I hear about Ashley from fanboys is they made her the equivalent of a sorta "strong female" type of character (ei. Rey Skywalker or Cap. Marvel). Except if you actually play the game, it's still the same Ashley from the OG, just not as annoying. And as someone who IS a fanboy as well, I'll admit that shit is just petty.
I don't know how anyone can say they changed her into a "strong female". By, trying to help at points? She's still a scared defenseless young woman that's only keeping it together because Leon Goddamn Kennedy is delivering his knife firmly down the Ganado's throats.

I think a for RE4 is perfect.
Back when it was new, playing it for the hundreds of hours that I did as a kid, it was S tier at the time, definitely. But because it was the big departure away from horror in Resi, the trend-setter for a lot of the awful shit in the game industry after its release, and because of the extra bloat just makes it such a long drag even on repeat playthroughs, it goes down to A comfortably.
I think 7 deserves to be there. Awesome add-on content, very under appreciated soundtrack, very charismatic, sympathetic and brilliantly voice acted villains, they nailed the horror/action balance, good pacing, keeps you tight on inventory space and ammunition, madhouse difficulty is cool asf, didn’t need to bring in lots of old characters to carry it (but that Chris design was awful), good weapon balance, unforgettable VR experience, great level design, lots of hidden items, it resurrected Capcom etc.
Ethan may not have been great but I liked having a blank slate character to keep things more focused on Mia and the Bakers since the plot revolves around them. The setting was very cool too and felt more grounded in reality than what Village had.

@TurTle I understand how important 7 is, given that we wouldnt have 2 and 4 remake without it. It's also very important to me for personal reasons as well.
None of that changes that it's still a very lackluster game as a whole. The "return to classic Resi form" is about half-baked. Everything about the game after Margeurite leaves a lot to be desired. The Bakers are the only worthwhile characters, as Ethan, Mia, and Eveline are all mostly annoying.
If it had been played through the eyes of just Zoe having to cope with her family's change and trying to save them and had more use out of the Baker house throughout the game, it would have been a lot more interesting.

weapon balancing, difficulty tuning, inconsistent combat (stealth alert, dr salvador teleports, etc) creativity, ruined ada, micro transactions and p2w cheats are some examples that the remake did worse than og.

I agree with all of their negatives but they forgot two: Ashley wrecking a mile of Saddler's Island in the front-loading dump truck.
Instead they replaced it with a gratuitous wrecking ball 'protect the flag' sequence.
Salazar's mecha statue sequence got removed. Lame.

Man, lots of people don't realize how close this Ashley is to the original, all they did was remove all skill needed to protect her and add more interactions with Leon, but she's practically the same as the original in terms of character. My guess for why people don't like her is because they never got good at handling her and kept hearing her scream for their attention and that's all they remembered of her

@Edwin Calderon actually many people have complained about the voice you just don’t get to see them because of the fact that Ada’s voice is the one getting highlighted. At first I hated the new voice but now it’s grown on me. Nowhere as good as the campy original but is fine on its own right
