While not always agreeing with the judges, I love this show.
Right! I love the shot too, but also question some of their choices.
The judges choice left me asking, (again) "what were they thinking"? Given that the winner would be painting Nile Rogers, a legend with an illustrious career and colorful background, having a minimalist artist, with a boring, simplistic, interpretation is a poor choice (in my uneducated opinion...lol). But we shall see. After watching 6 seasons, I think the judges have the visual interpretation of "nose blind", (when people are no longer able to smell the scent they wear). The judges are "eye blind" from viewing too many portraits, in too many seasons, leaving them jaded, grasping for "different", and so called "fresh", to the detriment of truly evocative choices. I truly long for new judges without the heavy baggage these judges seem to bring. That would be truly refreshing! What I do appreciate about the program is the exposure to different artist's techniques, art education from the perspective of the set backgrounds, and of course, the journey the artists go through during the 4 hours. That is the true gem!! Love the show! And look forward to each season.
I found Thomas portrait of Zoe very captivating, drama and elegance in one painting.
What’s good about a self portrait: absolute control of the sitter!
I too love this show but today’s choices were actually the three least attracting for me. I am a professional artist and there were three exceptional portraits that were ignored.
No, no, no...I do not agree with any of the 3 short listed ones...those poorly shaped glasses on Christabel's painting are very distracting
Quite disappointed with the judges, frankly.
I am watching this a second time. The winning painting is simply boring. What were the judges thinking?
I love Joan what an increbile woman she is
Ty😊
Baft choice!!
Thank you somuch ☺️
I love this show also
44:17 That is the face that launches a thousand ships.
Wow - the judges picked the "right " one this time, IMO. That hardly EVER happens! Thank you for posting - this is the only way I can watch this show and I just love it!!
Don't you think this sounds a little silly?
Where are the new seasons episodes of portrait and landscape artists of the year
The title subtitle says it is 2024 but the narrator says 2020.
*WTH????? The worst three portraits were picked for the finals!*
There were some wonderful works done today, but they chose the weakest ones.
Artists have to pander to the judges' tastes to win, especially when the judges' tastes are 💩.
I have to agree with you.
Well you are always negative, not much that pleases you it seems.
If I ever had enough money to commission an artist to paint me... I'd like it to be Thomas McGregor. I really enjoyed his self portrait with family and the sitter painting he developed.
I agree the fashion designer is terrible, the woman judges are dreadfully old fashioned and dreary looking.
The artists are all very good, and so different, enjoyed this one.
whoever dressed the female judges did a bad job, in nearly all episodes
