    So take the race variable out of the model, then.

      Not so easy, okay let's assume the race aspect was removed completely and the system was to make a prediction based on a large sample from a given location. Now, let's say this system determined that said that individuals from said given location were more likely to reoffend. This would also pose an unintentional bias because not every person in said location is the same
