That’s the book I used for my asvab and I did pretty decent for not doing math for over 3 years. Here’s what I got

MK Payumo well I’m 23 now and had 4 years of college between the first and second time I took it so that helps. The book I mentioned above and the book she references in this video comes a ton of flash cards so I would recommend using those. When I was in highschool and took the asvab I got an 88.

The hot air balloon test is the machine that is used to determine your exact prescription. It's what tells you what your lenses SHOULD be in order for you to see clearly. When the air balloon is clear, the machine prints off the numbers associated with that correction.

Just thought I’d share: I ordered the Kaplan book (2018-2019) from Target online and it cost $12 :)
Naadira Abdullah you don’t need that if you’re already good at math english and science (which you can’t study for to get better at in like 2-3 months)
Christin K 2-3 months is definitely enough, especially if you have a good work ethic.
Jordan Jinsui I’m speaking from experience and scored 80 without studying but do whatever works for you.
Cris K not everyone’s that smart buddy, a lot of people don’t do that good the first time without studying

It’s crazy how different meps is in each state. Just the order is night and day
Did you meet anyone that took the PICAT before MEPS? My recruiter gave me the PICAT and he said I'll just have a confirmation test, but he also said they could make you take the ASVAB anyway. I made an 87 on the PICAT and I'm just not sure what to expect.

Scatpackjohn Same thing happened with me. Guy beside me raised his hand and said “So do I check yes here if I took drugs 5 years ago?”.
I resisted the urge to facepalm because he obviously said no to his recruiter
Scatpackjohn it’s not like they gave you a lie detector. If your someone who hasn’t smoked in a year or even a month just check no cause it’s not gonna come up in the physical exam
@@Daddyvader7 even if you have smoked they're just looking for consistency so like if you tell your recruiter that you smoked 3 years ago on idk 5/6/2017 you need to remember that exact date to give. That's for pretty much everything. Girls have to remember the exact date they give their recruiter for they're last period (unless they get another one or a few between that time and MEPS) so whatever you say to the recruiter you say to MEPS smh
And, if they find out about it after she gets sworn in, she will be charged with fraudulent enlistment and kicked out of the military with a record that will follow her for the rest of her life. And before you say "they won't find out" - a simple request to your health insurance company, every doctor visit, every hospital visit, every prescription record will be found. You may be able to lie your way through MEPS and get "sworn in that day," but things like inhalers will likely come back and bite you later on. Keep in mind that once you are sworn in, you are subject to UCMJ and that is not nearly as forgiving as civilian laws. Let's just say I have professional knowledge of this.

Wow, Your MEPS is very different from how NC MEPS is. Very strict here. Not allowed to go back to your bag either once its in the seperate room until you leave.
I was surprised how laid back and nice everyone was based on everyone else’s experiences!
Seems that way. Everyone ended everything to us with sit down and shut up. Especially if I tried to joke with them.

I have a question, what is the order of things you go through when trying to join the military? I'm kinda young but I'm trying to plan it out now so I can be prepared for when I join after college. And what is MEPS? Do you go to BMT and Tech school after?

I am having trouble studying. I’ve been watching your videos, and I bought the online copy of the book you recommended. But I an just having trouble retaining the information. Any advice??? How did you specifically study for the two weeks before your test?
I literally got the same score and I had the same book!! Sadly I rarely used mine. 😭
That’s the same book I bought on amazon. It has flash cards and can use their website. #AimHigh

It’s honestly a little bit of everything: word problems, algebra, fractions, etc
They were nice to you because you are pretty . The eye exam with air is for Glaucoma.

Do you take your ASVAB before or during your MEPS? or do you do it twice?
Dont know if you went already but oh well. Unless you did what Brittany did and did everything in one day, usually your first trip to MEPS takes two days. Usually the first day you go to MEPS would be when you take the ASVAB. The next day is when you would get your physical done. If you already took the ASVAB prior then you would tell your recruiter and if your score is still valid you wouldnt have to take it again unless you wanted to
The left eye thing... Ugh. I'm legally blind in my left eye but my right has perfect vision. Luckily it can be corrected with glasses

I got a 69 on my asvab practice and also got an 81 but I didn’t know they had study books.
How throughly do they examine your body? Specifically your arms lol

Tell your recruiter. You might be able to go see a DR and get a waiver.
Paulina M i Heard if your scars are white or very very faded, they don’t usually pay much mind to it or want you diagnosed with anything. Don’t quote me
If you have any scars I would just suggest covering them with tattoos 💀
Be careful what you do and say at MEPS.
One guy, in our physical line up made a big mistake the night before.
The doctors told us to remove our clothes. Told us to do squats, move our arms up and down, and then turn around.
The doctors stopped and approached this one guy. He had scratches all up and down his back. The doctors asked him how he got those scratches. He chuckled, laughed and said his girl friend did it the night before. They told him to get dressed and they took him out of the room, never to be seen again.
I took the asvab last year and made a 71 lol
Mr. Meeseeks I’m a senior in high school and took it with no studying and got a 95 😂
@@isaiah1931 I just graduated from Berkeley and got a 35 on the practice. It's all high school algebra and common sense rather than actual academia. Hope you still feel great about yourself for remembering long division champ. Good luck out there
Evan Robertson Congrats bro that’s a great accomplishment. I’m a senior in high school and have committed to Georgia Tech so I will be in your position pretty soon, but I’m sure I will still know basic science, word knowledge, and arithmetic...... Ig some retain information better than others

I got a 76 on the practice I want to study to get as good of a score as possible

There’s only one doctor at the end who asks you questions. And as long as you told your recruiter everything they needed to know, you’ll be fine!

Unless you didn’t disclose something to your recruiter that you then bring up at meps, you’ll be fine
They had you do the long asvab on actual paper and not the computer one ?
When I was 18, 9 years ago. This time I took it on a computer at MEPS.
This is the difference between enlisting when your brain is still mushy and when you enlist as an adult. You can't make good decisions as a scared 17 year old

Same. All my friends got 88s and 89s and they were teasing me for being “dumb”. Good fun
I got an 80 and didn't even think to study. I did take the practice test but I had an appt with my recruiter to do the ASVAB a week after I had my first call with him. So I'm thankful I did well the first time 😬
Also I am 26 with the thought of doing AF so knowing that you joined at this age is so reassuring to me.

Can I join the Air Force having a breast surgery?
Depending on the reason for the surgery and when the surgery was. It's counted as a a chest wall surgery that you need to wait for a fixed time frame post-op to qualify if the reason for surgery was not disqualifying itself.

All of the online tests and books I mentioned have science portions! The online tests are free and I recommend using those to review general science that may be on the test.
