Spent 6 years in the USAF. 2005-2011. AFSC was 2A7X3 Aircraft Structural Maintenace. Got out a Staff Sergeant. Was a challenging and rewarding 6 years as I got to see a lot of different places. Stationed in Alaska and Arkansas with my daughter being born in Anchorage. Gave me a set of skills that I use to this day as a civlian working on aircraft with a large Aerospace company. Was not for me obviously as I did not stay in and do 20. But....I would not change my decision at all. GO AIR FORCE👍

Going to see a recruiter tomorrow! Been thinking about it for a while. EDIT: apparently, according to the Army Recruiter, the Air Force recruiters get off early on Friday’s and only work by appointment. So I’m setting up an appointment.

Hello, I'm 15 turning 16 this July, and I was just wondering what steps I should take as a current Highschool student to get into the Airforce and figure out exactly what I want to do in the AirForce. I currently have a 4.8 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA, but I have no idea what exactly it is that I want to do in the AirForce and what my aptitudes are. I do know that I want to go in after I get a college degree first though.
By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least be a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school. While you are still too young to enlist into the Air Force, it is never too early to start preparing. There are a few things you can do now to prepare for once you reach the required age. First study hard and graduate from high school. Get the best grades you can in all subjects especially English, Math and Science. This will help you improve your score on the ASVAB test which is required for enlistment. Say no to drugs and get an early start on physical conditioning are important steps in the right direction. And stay out of trouble. Law violations can delay and in some cases will disqualify you from joining the Air Force and taking advantage of the opportunities available. Starting early and being prepared are your best shot. i've always wanted to join the air force since I saw a fighter jet fly by for the first time. but then i heard about how the people you will work with will bully you because im a muslim myself. they also told how many muslims hide their identity to keep a plain field with others. I hope by the time I graduate high school, being a muslim becomes a norm in the air force.
RANDOM GOD ll the Air Force has a huge diverse culture and accepts all ethnicities, religions and races. They are also anti-bullying and try to ensure a safe, anti-hazing work environment. That being said, sometimes the bullying still happens, just as it would anywhere else in the world because of bad seeds. But you better believe the Air Force will deal with any culprits accordingly if they become aware of it. So my advice is don’t worry about the small percentage of bad apples. They are everywhere you go. Instead focus on the positives the Air Force can bring to your life. Good luck.
I’m not the smartest person but I really do want to be in the Air Force it’s something I really am looking foreword to and be a part of. What would you recommend me?

I was about to 30 pounds overweight first I went to speak to a recruiter, they kept it straight up and said we can’t move on until you make weight. Didn’t even was their time.
It’s quite the pipeline, and the physical requirements are very specific on what can disqualify you. You can just look it up on google or go to the website. If you make it an actual goal in your life and make the effort you can get it done. Good Luck
I’m just assuming that your not 100% serious about this, it’s not a simple process and if your not fully dedicated you will fail out. You need to go to college first and then the extensive pipeline goes on for years
Can I join the air force if I got separated from the navy with an re8 reentry code? I was separated due to failing the baseline pfa and would I need to retake my asvab if I’m able to enlist?
Hello! Thank you for making this video. I have a question, I'm currently in my seniors and 1 year away from stepping into college, I'd like to finish college in my country so by the time I graduate I'll be 21 years old. My dream is to become a pilot for the Air Force but I'm not sure how and what to do as I don't have a US Citizenship. What do you think I should do? Thank you!

@heymoe1179 Here is a brief summary of the Enlisted process of joining: 1) Interview with a Recruiter to determine if you are qualified to join. 2) If you are qualified to join the recruiter will schedule you to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) exam. The test that one takes to enlist is called the ASVAB. It covers 8 general subjects. It will test not only your current knowledge, but also your propensity to learn in different subject arenas. 3) Physical/medical exam is scheduled by the recruiter: Your recruiter will schedule you to take your physical at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). The recruiter will brief you on proper attire to wear for your trip to the MEPS. You will be at the MEPS the entire day. You will take a complete physical exam to include, hearing, eye, and range of motion tests (there is no fitness test). You will be given blood tests and a urinalysis test as well. Females will have a breast exam. Sometimes additional medical consultations are required to ensure you are eligibility so your physical may take more than one day. Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctors (not recruiters) will determine if you are medically qualified to join and any career limitations. 4) After you complete your physical and career counseling at MEPS. While at MEPS you will then swear into the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) to include signing a contract to join and await your Basic Training Start Date. You will be in the DEP approximately 3 to 9 months. While in the DEP you will find out which career or aptitude area that YOU selected at MEPS that you are receiving, and the date of when you leave for Basic Military Training (BMT). At this point you are committed as you join the Air Force. Ray U.S. Air Force and Space Force Recruiting

Sach, your GPA does not matter for the Enlisted process. However, for your ASVAB based on Air Force requirements, the minimum Armed Forces Qualifications Test (AFQT) score required for entry on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is 31. However, due to the high number of individuals who are qualified and waiting to depart for Basic Military Training (over 90% of them possessing an ASVAB score over 50 percentile) your recruiter may not be able to process you and may ask you to return when they have space on their waiting list to add new applicants. Is it true that when you join the Air Force that they pay for part of your housing expenses ? I think it's called Basic Allowance for House (BAH). If they do, how much money is alloted ?
Housing Enlisted Airmen live in dormitories located on base. If they decide to live off base, they receive a monthly tax-free housing allowance based on their rank and geographic location. Pam Air Force and Space Force Recruiting Service
@@miguelbulanadi5711 I think it’s based on generally the housing market and what it looks like for your state. If a generally ok 2 bath/2 bed house costs like $250,000 in the state your stationed in, then your BAH rate will TRY to accommodate for that general cost (we here in Arizona are struggling because of how much the housing prices have increased here in the last year however). You will be able to see a BAH Rates list for the Fiscal Year for any place you may be stationed at.

Hello I'm currently a junior in high school and I was wondering if I need to take 4 years of math to become a air force pilot? If so that 4th year of math for me is calculus. Another question I have is what math is used in the air force?
The large majority of UAV (not drone, UAV) pilots in the AF are officers, so you would have to go to college and get a degree and then be selected as a pilot. At present, there are very few enlisted UAV pilots, and all of them are NCOs most with prior expertise in the UAV field, typically Sensor Operators (but I dont think that is a requirement, just how it works out): what that means is you have to enlist and become a NCO then apply for the program.
General requirements to apply for pilot positions: US citizen Applicants who are under the age of 33 and/or have less than 8 years of total federal commissioned service (TFCS) may apply in order to complete medical flight screening (MFS). 4 year college degree with at least a 2.5 GPA Must be able to complete a FC1, 1A, III physical and complete the board process before entering Basic Officers Height specifications vary by aircraft and most applicants can successfully pursue a career in aviation with the US Air Force. Applicants who are significantly taller or shorter than average may require special screening to ensure they can safely perform operational duties. Applicants of all heights are encouraged to apply. Vision will be evaluated. Color vision is required. Path to a Pilot seat: Once you are qualified to join the Air Force as a Commissioned Officer you will take this path to get your wings. 1.) Complete Officer Training (AF Academy, AF ROTC, OTS) 2.) Enter Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and begin your flight training. (@ 1 year) 3.) You are only required to do sit ups to graduate basic training Fitness Standards Upon Arrival at AFBMT You will receive an initial assessment of your physical fitness (1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, and body composition) during zero-week of basic training. This assessment aids in identifying recruits who are in poor physical condition. • Men must be able to complete the 1.5 miles run in 18:30 and women must be able to complete it in 21:35. • Must meet body composition standards. The abdominal circumference of 39.0 inches for men and 35.5 inched for women. If not meeting this, body fat is estimated and the limits are 20% for men and 28% for women. • If you don't meet these two standards, you may be immediately processed for entry-level separation as you are deemed not medically able to complete BMT. • Results of this assessment designate a recruit's physical fitness category. • Privileges may be revoked if you show no signs of improvement. • Recycle action may occur any time a recruit does not improve or fails to meet standards. • Airmen on full PC waivers have the same restrictions as those who fail to improve.
Graduation Requirements The final fitness test is conducted at the end of the 4th WOT/beginning of the 5th WOT (prior to "Warrior Week"). To pass, recruits must meet the following minimum physical fitness standards: Males: • 1.5 mile Run - 11:57 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 42 for age 29 and under, 39 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 27 for age 29 and under, 27 for age 30-39. • Abdominal Circumference: 35 inches or less Females: • 1.5 Mile Run - 14:26 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 38 for age 29 and under, 29 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 18 for age 29 and under, 14 for age 30-39 • Abdominal Circumference: 31.5 inches or less The push-ups and sit-ups must all be performed with proper form. If you come close but don't pass, you may be given another chance to pass the test the next day. Don Air Force and Space Force Recruiting Service

I have serious doubt about making it, can anyone give me pointers ? Please. I’m thinking of joining. But I understand the tough process. I know I can do it.
Good morning. The joining process is not tough; it just requires some patience, which can take some time. Here is a summary of the process of joining the Air Force and Space Force: • Contact your local Air Force or Space Force recruiter. The recruiter will ask you qualification and eligibility questions. Potentially take a practice test in the office. Depending on how well you do will determine if you get scheduled for the real ASVAB. • Recruiter schedules you for the ASVAB at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or MET Site. Your recruiter will review your scores when you return to the recruiting office. If your recruiter tells you that you passed, then he or she will schedule you for the MEPS Exam • At the MEPS, your exam will consist of blood work, drug testing, medical questioning about all your medical history, and a full medical exam. You will be asked about any law violations, arrests, convictions, charges, or anything involved with a law enforcement officer. You will be fingerprinted, and a federal background investigator will run your prints and information. You will then discuss your career selections with an Air Force Liaison based on your ASVAB scores, medical exam, and the X-Factor test results (the test is like a deadlift). • You will list your careers, and the Air Force Liaison will input your choices into your record. You will be asked if you want to do a 4- or 6-year enlistment. You will then be sworn in with the Oath of Enlistment and enter the Delayed Entry Program at MEPS. After this, you will go back to your recruiter’s office. • You will wait for your recruiter to contact you when he or she is notified that you have booked a career based on one of the choices you listed at MEPS. This may take a few days, weeks, or months (it varies). Your recruiter will call you into the office to sign your contract and discuss your career field and the date that you leave for Basic Training. The average time to leave for basic training varies.
Is the enlistment commitment done after the ASVAB score comes in...and possible jobs are discussed? That seems logical.
@heymoe1179 Here is a brief summary of the Enlisted process of joining:
1) Interview with a Recruiter to determine if you are qualified to join.

Game, by Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, you may speak to recruiters when they come to your high school.
If you haven't already done so, contact your Air Force Recruiter to discuss your scores and options. Applicants are considered on a best-to-least qualified basis.

What will it take for me to pilot a drone? I'm currently 15
So we have to have a 4 year collage degree if we want to be a pilot?
General requirements to apply for pilot positions:
US citizen
Applicants who are under the age of 33 and/or have less than 8 years of total federal commissioned service (TFCS) may apply in order to complete medical flight screening (MFS).
4 year college degree with at least a 2.5 GPA
Must be able to complete a FC1, 1A, III physical and complete the board process before entering Basic Officers
Height specifications vary by aircraft and most applicants can successfully pursue a career in aviation with the US Air Force. Applicants who are significantly taller or shorter than average may require special screening to ensure they can safely perform operational duties. Applicants of all heights are encouraged to apply.
Vision will be evaluated.
Color vision is required.
Path to a Pilot seat:
Once you are qualified to join the Air Force as a Commissioned Officer you will take this path to get your wings.
1.) Complete Officer Training (AF Academy, AF ROTC, OTS)
2.) Enter Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and begin your flight training. (@ 1 year)
3.) Nearing completion of UPT you will be assigned an Aircraft. It's called getting your Seat Assignment. This is determined by these factors: Class Ranking, training performance reports, instructor recommendations, your aircraft preferences, and our needs.
4.) Upon completion of UPT and your Seat assignment, you continue your flight Training for the specific aircraft you were assigned. (6 months to one year)
5.) Nearing completion of your Advanced Flight Training, you will be given a Squadron, and location assignment. Your location preferences are considered.
6.) The commitment for an Air Force Pilot is 10 years of Active Duty Service after completion of Pilot training.

I qualify for everything except one thing. Math. That's my Kryptonite.
You don't have to be good at math to join the Air Force. lol. Not every job is a nuclear scientist.
Have you reached out to a recruiter yet?
can you tell me how many sit-ups you have to do to join
You are only required to do sit ups to graduate basic training
Fitness Standards Upon Arrival at AFBMT
You will receive an initial assessment of your physical fitness (1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, and body composition) during zero-week of basic training.
Graduation Requirements
The final fitness test is conducted at the end of the 4th WOT/beginning of the 5th WOT (prior to "Warrior Week"). To pass, recruits must meet the following minimum physical fitness standards:
Males:
• 1.5 mile Run - 11:57 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 42 for age 29 and under, 39 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 27 for age 29 and under, 27 for age 30-39. • Abdominal Circumference: 35 inches or less
Females:
• 1.5 Mile Run - 14:26 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 38 for age 29 and under, 29 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 18 for age 29 and under, 14 for age 30-39 • Abdominal Circumference: 31.5 inches or less
The push-ups and sit-ups must all be performed with proper form. If you come close but don't pass, you may be given another chance to pass the test the next day.

Why do men have to tuck their shirts in but women dont?
I have serious doubt about making it, can anyone give me pointers ? Please. I’m thinking of joining. But I understand the tough process. I know I can do it.
Good morning. The joining process is not tough; it just requires some patience, which can take some time. Here is a summary of the process of joining the Air Force and Space Force:
• Contact your local Air Force or Space Force recruiter.
If your recruiter tells you that you passed, then he or she will schedule you for the MEPS Exam
• At the MEPS, your exam will consist of blood work, drug testing, medical questioning about all your medical history, and a full medical exam.

Hello, I am from Bangladesh. 🇧🇩 Can you told me, How can I easily join The US AIR FORCE 🇺🇸?
Good morning. You must live in the United States or an area that has an AF recruiter. You must also possess a 10 Green Card with over 2 year remaining prior to the expiration date to join if you are not a US citizen. Applicants must be between 17 and 39; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read and write English fluently.
The Air Force does not bring applicants to the US to join unless there is an AF recruiting office or Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to process through. You must complete all immigration processing and get to the United States legally on your own. The AF does not help.

Non US citizens must have a green card to apply. Once you receive your green card you may then contact a recruiter.
Applicants educated in other than US educational institutions must have an educational-level evaluation before enlistment to qualify as a high school graduate or higher. Such evaluations may be obtained through a state’s department of education, a college or university listed in the current AIPE directory, or an authorized credentials evaluation agency. The evaluation must specify the applicant’s educational level (HSG or higher). Applicants are responsible for any fees required. (The credential’s evaluation agency must be a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services found at naces.org/ under “current members). (Please speak with your recruiter prior to having an evaluation completed) (Do not have an evaluation done prior to working with your Air Force recruiter). Please contact your local recruiter for more information once you receive your green card.

Yea you can I think you can try to find a recruiter as they responded to quite a few comments here
Please look into it if you want to join. I served with people from all over the world.
I have a bad vision cause of my phone could i join with kinda bad eyesight??
Titan, every qualified applicant receives a physical to include an eye exam. Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctors (not recruiters) will determine if you are medically qualified to join the Air Force and any career limitations.

Can you fail the test or the just place you on the level you score
Based on Air Force requirements, the minimum Armed Forces Qualifications Test (AFQT) score required for entry on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is 36 (31 if they meet all other mandatory requirements for an AFSC).

@@USAirForceRecruiting okay thank you… but is it hard and are there any online studies I can practice before taking the test
That varies from person to person. You can prepare for this test by using an ASVAB study guide. The study guide can be obtained at your local library, or you can purchase one at most major bookstores. There are resources online that are helpful as well. We do not endorse one over the other.

Can you join the Air Force if your gluten free?
Rhian, Unfortunately, this could potentially be medically disqualifying. However, the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctor (not the recruiter) makes that determination if you are medically qualified to join the Air Force and any career limitations. You will need to gather your medical/pharmacy records for this condition and provide them to your recruiter. Then your local recruiter can have your medical records for this condition prescreened by the doctor at MEPS for a preliminary ruling in your particular situation. Please contact an Air Force recruiter for more details. The following web link will assist you in locating an Air Force Recruiter nearest to you by zip code: www.airforce.com/find-a-recruiter
