IMO, this is the greatest cover song of all covers songs...you can even say it is a “mother cover”😂 The video is superb Fine Arts, especially Freddie’s a cappella parts❣️ Thank you & happy Saturday ❣️👍🏻🔥👑💛
One of the best covers i have ever heard. I mean the credits go to the Platters but Freddie went it to another level and suits him so well, i still remember singing this every night as a kid.
Freddie was definitely sending a message to world, giving them a little glimpse of himself. (He said in interviews that "No one knows the real me; I don't think anyone ever will.") The video is a masterpiece... Every time I see it, my mind is boggled!🙉
What I find interesting is that Freddie took on the name of the record company The Platters AND Smile were on: Mercury! This song likely resonated with Freddie ALL the way back to when The Platters first did this.
That’s so kind of you to say. I could upload some video on The Beatles in the future although, it may involve a collaboration as my Beatles knowledge is fairly average
Not at that point. The illness wouldn’t start to show symptoms until 1986 and only started getting bad in ‘88. He didn’t even know he had anything at the time.
What are your thoughts on Freddie Mercury's cover of The Great Pretender?
The great pretender is one of Freddie's best solo track
Brian Malouf's remix is excellent.
It’s a great ending song for the anime “Great pretender”
I think it has alwats been my fav cover
I think the best version is Freddie’s - the voice, the everything 💯

"Pretending that I'm doing well" ... Well he was very ill at that point...
