I lost this same exact model of knife in the woods of New Hampshire when I was camping as a kid. I choose to believe you have found it and restored it. This was even more satisfying than most restorations for me.
Great job!!! I still think you have a time machine that you can make these old knives look better than new!!! Your skills are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your video with us!! The Old Army Scout…
That’s a restoration! Wow that thing could almost pass for brand new… Imagine what that knife would’ve meant to somebody back in the day… It’s hard to imagine, people didn’t have much and what they did have they respected it and took care of it… You earned my subscription! Thank you
That is amazing how you restored that old pocket knife. It looks much better than before, particularly after you plated the parts with nickel. Excellent work.
Shell handle , traditional multi blade , cattle/utility knife !!! Never knew that the Brits made shell handled models , thought that was only Japan & some U.S.A. manufacturers !!!
@@waynemccourt1591 All About Pocket Knives , on their blade forum , says that Richards Sheffield England , closed their doors in 1983 , But the original parent company , Richardz in Germany , may still be open & producing high quality pocket knives & other fixed blade pieces !!!
Hi ReXtorer!! Can I know which metal do you use for the sticks to hold everything together? I've tried both stainless steel and brass but they are both quite hard to hammer flat. Could you give me some advise on that matter? Thanks a lot!!!
A very interesting refurb. Looks nice but the edges (saw, opener, blades, etc) would all need to be properly sharpened before it would be fit for its original uses. Still it makes an interesting approximation of the original item.
It looks good, but when you open each blade by pressing on the “sharp” blade edge and it doesn’t even cut your glove, it’s pretty obvious that all the blades are completely dull, which makes this a useless display piece.
because its something that he enjoys and that others enjoy seeing? i dont get what ur mad abt. like just cuz u lost ur ugly ass curls after sophmore year dont mean u get to shit on other peoples hobbies😭😭🙏🏽
Did you ever think that maybe someone sent him this to restore because it’s sentimental and belonged to a deceased loved one? I don’t know if that’s the case, which is why I wouldn’t make a comment like this. It’s just disrespectful dude.
Why the black gloves, in every one of these videos?... Are you afraid of messing up your pretty finger nails and clashing with those sweet jail house tats?
@ReXtorer Exactly! That blade has 3 functions that are useful to fishermen. The most obvious is the scaler, to remove fish scales. The notch on the end is a hook disgorger, to remove hooks safely. The 3rd function is the hook sharpener. It's the long slot on the blade. You drag the barb of the hook through it to sharpen & straighten dull or bent hook barbs.
Knife restorations and refurbs are my specialty and you did a great job, keep it up.
thank you)
As someone who lives in Sheffield I heartily approve of this restoration. And the manufacturer is still going.
Nice restoration of what was a cheap knife in the first place. It’s better, I’m sure than when it was new. Thanks 🎸🔪

Perfection! That’s the first time I’ve seen you use the chemical nickel plating process. Awesome! 👍😎👍

What a neat little knife! You made it as good as new, actually you made it better than new! Beautiful job!!
Outstanding. ❤
It's amazing how much design and engineering is in something as pedestrian as a jacknife
It absolutely is, @danchitwood6783!

It's made by Richards of Sheffield. I think they went out of business in the early 1980.

Where do you live !!!
@webtoedmanSad state your government has put you in.
That knife reminds me of my dad’s pocket knife he had when I as a young girl.

That's a fishermen blade not a saw.
Tell me what powder you use to clean the rust?
This is how it should be
🙋👍👏🥰
Super praca, ale wolę jak odnawia Pan starsze przedmioty.
I think you could buy that penknife with Bazooka Joe bubble gum loyalty comic strips!
💙💛

Sheffield steel some of the best in the world.
I found one of those in my backyard with a metal detector

Too much work on a cheap knife.oil and steel wool was what was needed.
If you must 🙄 I don't see the point in restoring a knife that was a crap $20 knife when new and not worth $20 on Ebay today...
For fun I guess, just his hobby
because its something that he enjoys and that others enjoy seeing? i dont get what ur mad abt. like just cuz u lost ur ugly ass curls after sophmore year dont mean u get to shit on other peoples hobbies😭😭🙏🏽
I don't see the point of you leaving a smug, douchey comment, but you did that anyway. I guess everyone does pointless things every now and again.
Not everything is measured by money

I am so comfortable. I work with dirt and chemicals
Класно вийшло. Одне лише , мабуть можно було б пилку підправити,бо на вигляд вона зовсім не функціональна. Але на перший погляд ніж як новий став.🎉
Це не пилка) це, здається, ніж для чистки луски риби
