I for the life of me can never understand it when someone says that the road glide handles better than the challenger. I've put quite a few miles on both bikes and the challenger just blows the road glide out of the water when it comes to handling. It feels like I'm on a sport bike when I'm riding the challenger. The road glide I always felt like I had to man handle it too much into corner and keep it there. My buddy said it prefect the other day, "The people build their road glides to perform the way the challenger does straight from the factory". As far as looks go the road glide wins that hands down all day long in my opinion.
Both good bikes. Glad Indian is still around an building great bikes. That said I’d take my 20 year old GL1800 with Traxxion Dynamics suspension over either one.
I've seen people ride in sand... at 80 km/h... Carrying 3 pillion riders!!! These people give tourists rides along a sea beach. The faster they can go, the more trips they can make. More money they can make. These people don't ride for fun. They ride out of necessity, to feed their families. That motivation is enough to teach them to ride like that!
I can tell these big cruisers are NOT their thing. But old fat guys with huge bellies huge beards and HUGE HEMMORHOIDS love big cruisers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im going to start off by saying i dont own either of these bikes, nor am i loyal to either brand. As a realist, im going to lay it down as honestly as possible. I know the Indian vs Harley debate is going to go on forever...its kinda like Camaro vs Mustang...there's no answer, it's all personal. I've riden both of these bikes for extensive comparisons in the past. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, and I am going to say up front, I am very picky. The Roadglide has to catch up in terms of power, some great features, and maybe a bit on the handling front. Indian has it beat when it comes to those aspects. On a bike demanding that much money, the engine shouldnt only have 90HP. I know it has enough twist to pull a house off its foundation, but sorry Harley guys, it runs out of steam compared to the Challenger in top end. Not all of us ride at 65, some like rolling at 80, and ripping out to pass without breaking a sweat. We also don't want to have to buy a bike, then spend another 4,5,6 grand on Stage 1, 2, 3...or whatever to get the ripping high rpm power. The Harley M8 114 is by NO means slow or underpowered, its just not quite like the Indian stock to stock. On the flip side, hands down without even the slightest doubt, the Roadglide beats the Challenger in terms of build quality and attention to detail. Sorry Indian guys, it's the truth. Plastic covered chrome, uneven gaps, poor paint application, exposed wiring harnesses is not acceptable on a bike in this category and price. I don't care how fast it is, or how great the handling is. I need quality at this price point, little details, superb craftsmanship. Too much of Polaris shows through when it's supposed to be an Indian Challenger..the game changer. The lack of 'attention to detail' kills some of the really excellent traits the Challenger has in my opinion. If I was to choose one, I would go with the Roadglide in 2023. Indian needs to get their act together when it comes to quality. Just because it's fast, doesn't mean it's better. Ride safe everyone, and remember, it doesn't matter what we ride, as long as we roll on 2. Cheers
Man there were 2 options for American branded tour bikes Victory made 2. Indian is using features from both of them bikes on the challenger and pursuit
Good news is, as the stock market drops is that, if you can hide some cash buying one of those big bikes(The HD) it won't lose it's value any where near the rate that stock portfolio is losing.

Pestilence :) Needed two more horsemen for this video… There were two big Indians going down the beach road in Kill Devil Hills, and sitting out on the balcony I thought they sounded freaking awesome. Actually stood up up to see what they were.
The winner in these discussions, is..... The customer. Who now has a vastly better choice for American V-Twin touring, and a market with completion where Indian is forcing HD to get off it's duff, and actually be competitive. It's no surprise that HD finally had to upgrade its 1920's pushrod tractor engine technology, to the Revolution Max.
I love my Harley! I like certain things on the Indian but I feel my Harley handles far better than the Indian I test rode last Wednesday but my Harley in fairness has legends front/rear suspension and I have tall risers and like a pair of BMX style bars and other aftermarket stuff like 117 kit exhaust (Rinehart) and fueling cams k&n intake Dyno tune and it's got a nice audio package now thank God (it's loud real loud) so it makes some power and it plays tunes so it wasn't fair exactly a fair comparison also I am not sure what I drove was called the pursuit but the guy working seen what I pulled in on and said that whatever he let me ride was the closest thing oh and the ftr1200 that was a hoot though prob going to get one that's the 3rd test ride on one and I really like them
I test drove both and personally wasn't impressed with the Indian Challenger's handling. Not worse or better then a RoadGlide. A bit quicker yes. They are not cheaper, almost identical in pricing.
@@jfaulk5717 , that's the point sometimes, both out of necessity and desire. Not everyone wants stock anything. Look at cars and trucks on the road. People like to spend money on accessories that will never assist to appreciate in value.

I own a road glide ultra and I love it. I was leaning toward the challenger but at the time I wanted the tour pack and the challenger didn’t have that option . I didn’t like the fairing on the challenger or the dash ( inner fairing) looks very much like a Yamaha just don’t like the ergonomics of it where as the road glide fairing flows also did not like the bars on the Indian. I made the right choice and love my glide.

The Harley has a rain ride mode and an IMU with lean angle traction and anti lock.
Both good bikes. Glad Indian is still around an building great bikes. That said I’d take my 20 year old GL1800 with Traxxion Dynamics suspension over either one.
I write a 2002 Goldwing GL1800 too and it's great
Solid review guys
Great video, really enjoyed it, I'd take the Indian!
That was a really good review!
Great review gents
Traded my HD for a Polaris Challenger. Indian is just a decal. Both have strong points. Why the issues? The best bike is the one you ride, just ride.
Why isn’t the Harley the CVO Road Glide limited?
Harley service centers are everywhere…including parts availability. I love the look and feel on my rg23
My two favorite bikes. Win/Win either bike you chose.
Burnsey y Ryan, don't listen to tha haters: keep up the color commentary: the Truth lies in Literature!
Ryan looked like he was nervous at moments, like Burns’ shenanigans were going to get them beat up.
I guess I missed the “review” part
I can tell these big cruisers are NOT their thing. But old fat guys with huge bellies huge beards and HUGE HEMMORHOIDS love big cruisers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you and all US people and government for supporting Ukraine! I'm from Dnipro, Ukraine city and stay there.
Thanks for the video. My eyes are on the Harley-Davidson.
Spectacular amount of useless cutesy jibber jabber.
OK...
Is it 900lbs?
What's that guy saying that Harley is better in corners and Brembo brakes are not that good on Challenger?? Holy shilling from these guys. Meh nothing new from these guys.
Can we get a Do Over with different editors in a different area.
I read the article too and I’m Very disappointed with this review.
The riders don’t give good information and, I’m sorry, not entertaining.
Please give these machines a Proper review that they deserve.
Harley should offer electronic suspension
I test Rode almost everything in Harley's line up for 21&22 but the CVO RG i fell in love with. I was never a Harley guy because they are out of my league $
I want to test the Indian now. But it's hard to beat the Fit & Finsh on the Harley's.
I think they were comparing American motorcycles
I love my road glide. I’d like to ride the Indian too but I’ve never had a chance
What could go wrong next?
Biden: Hold my Alzheimer meds.
Maybe you should set the rear suspension preload properly before you comment on the steering in the twistiest and dragging parts!!
Pestilence :) Needed two more horsemen for this video…
There were two big Indians going down the beach road in Kill Devil Hills, and sitting out on the balcony I thought they sounded freaking awesome. Actually stood up up to see what they were.
When you're on a group ride, you pretty much stick together. So why do people put so much emphasis on how fast their bike is over another?
The winner in these discussions, is..... The customer. Who now has a vastly better choice for American V-Twin touring, and a market with completion where Indian is forcing HD to get off it's duff, and actually be competitive. It's no surprise that HD finally had to upgrade its 1920's pushrod tractor engine technology, to the Revolution Max.
I love my Harley! I like certain things on the Indian but I feel my Harley handles far better than the Indian I test rode last Wednesday but my Harley in fairness has legends front/rear suspension and I have tall risers and like a pair of BMX style bars and other aftermarket stuff like 117 kit exhaust (Rinehart) and fueling cams k&n intake Dyno tune and it's got a nice audio package now thank God (it's loud real loud) so it makes some power and it plays tunes so it wasn't fair exactly a fair comparison also I am not sure what I drove was called the pursuit but the guy working seen what I pulled in on and said that whatever he let me ride was the closest thing oh and the ftr1200 that was a hoot though prob going to get one that's the 3rd test ride on one and I really like them
You got a Harley and spent thousands to have it outperform a stock Indian….
EVERYONE SEEMS TO FORGET, THE VTWIN IS HARLEY'S DESIGN, AND EVERYONE ELSE TRIES TO COPY!!!! CAN'T BEAT A HARLEY, IN MY OPINION, THEY'RE STILL #1 ALL AROUND THE WORLD!!!
Indian for the Win! (as usual) 🙂
How much did Harley Davidson pay for the better review about Handling, having ridden both the Indian and Harley the Indian is the superior machine in all categories. Not even close. And I am a BMW owner
Both really good bikes. Harley always has been about upgrades and customization. I'd choose Harley personally. On a side note once the woke crowd pays attention to the "Indian", you can bet there is gonna be a name change. (jk, but nowadays don't be surprised).
Funny because every other side by side comparison, the Indian wins everything. I smell some bias riders. Cycle world’s comparison was much different!
indians better in every way
I do like Indian brand , it is amazing
full liquid cooled gived the nod to The Challenger. Hd cannot keep up with the Indian. ive had both, Indians engine blows hd away.
Is this a bike review or travel log? Yeesh.
Great review gentleman... Everything has it's good points and bad points, so we each have to choose what is most important to us personally in a motorcycle.. Ride and enjoy whatever it is....
Take the Indian, and hope you never need emergency service on the road far from home. Indian dealers are far and few.
Liking, commenting and subscribing
A decent video.
It may take awhile, but MO will eventually figure it out. These two together are a death knell for a video. Less than Zero personality on camera. You have 393k subscribers and have 26k views after 2 weeks and it's not like this is a new stat, just look up the past videos.
I’m just Glad Indian made a go after Harley sales… Living in North America I just get sick and tired of the Harley riders. Their mentality is truly laughable… they stick on every label possible to make themselves seem nostalgic. Most of them are just fat lazy morons. To the rest of us riders we just find it very amusing. Why pay for a bike that needs a pile of upgrades to make it useable. My sport tourer rips them to shreds, it’s not even comparable. Better handling, better power, better fuel mileage, better electronics and better weather protection, without cooking you to death in traffic. These bikes are almost 300lb heavier than my sports tourer….
The bikes don't need upgrades. People choose to upgrade them. So they can have their individual perspectives on their rides... Indian hasn't gotten there.
This review was a joke.
Indian makes some interesting bikes, but for me it comes down to support. The dealers around me are all complete garbage.
That's another secret Indian guys neglect to mention. Not many competent dealers. And anyone who doesn't know how polaris treats their customers should do some research... they won't get my money ever again
harley was…. Indian is America’s top bike
👍
rage against the machine becamerage for the machine! now everybody seems to rebel towards reblling and conforming to the government
