@@claudiu-zaharia There aren't 24 months in a year🇺🇸🦅🎆 If you didn't get it, I'm referencing the fact that people in the U.S use a Month/Day/Year format for documenting dates, while the U.K uses a Day/Month/Year format.
I know this video is 4 months old but the message remains the same. Thank you for such great content, your driving skill is elite, and the commentary is both witty and soothing, and despite your talent, you roll with the fun comments about people using your videos for ASMR with humor. Keep on!
Steve’s use of sacrificial corning on that last right hander coming outta the Porsche curves and Karting Nord, proving its absolutely critical for higher top speed through Maison Blanche. 👌🏻
I think the biggest thing you missed from the replay initially was the guys’ ability to basically use engine braking to be deeper on the brakes. Notice how he’s blipping 1st to get the car to basically stop with the brakes. It’s not necessarily the gear on exit that you should be paying attention to, it’s the use of the extremely quick gear downshifts to help the car not just rotate, but also brake. Cheers.
Makes a lot of sense. GT race softs have always been so soft that such a tactic would actually work without overwhelming the tyres. And of course it only works because GT is also so arcadey that you won't blow the engine doing this. It's kind of my pet peeve with racing 'sims'. You really should not be able to money shift like that in any game that calls itself a sim.
Your first lap was pretty much the same time as my PB :(( it’s crazy how fast you guys are. And I can’t believe all the pros are another level about you as well, it’s absolutely insane
I'd be interested in seeing you do a deep dive into a time trial session comparing VR to flat screen. I think VR could be an advantage on some tracks with tight corners.
Brilliant! :) I'd resigned myself to a silver with 3:25.8, but this video inspired me to have another crack at it, and managed to get a Gold last night!
I watch these videos... find them funny and at the same time, enlightening. It makes me want to play the game even though I got the platinum and don't even have it installed anymore. Than I remember I don't have a wheel and playing with the controller is not the same as what I just watched and that's that! lol But all your videos are great, Steve! Thanks for the content!
I always love when these videos come out, sometimes I actually improve my own times after watching. I noticed with those Group C cars is that coming off throttle for an instant while changing up actually helped my straight-line speed, gets rid of the throttle blip that the game does. Love the content as always
I live in Durban, South Africa, one of the most unequal countries in the world. Where I live in a higher end area, each home is a double or triple story and it's not rare to see Bentley's, Lamborghini's and Ferraris. I work in one of the disadvantaged areas (where kids don't even have shoes and there's 80 kids to a class) and I played this video in our reception. We have kids come over just to watch these videos, and it's amazing how much joy it brings these kids. The big boss just bought a PS4 and is going to let kids come in during the school holidays. Who knew a video made in the other side of the world would bring smiles to poor disadvantaged kids who have never held any electronic device.
Speaking of Le mans. History has been made! Another thing is have you thought about doing your own circuit guide series. Like a series where you run various laps pn each track and explain different ways of how to set the best times
@@313gwar kinda true. Can't tell you how many nights I've fallen asleep to Steve's narration. A quiet rev of an engine in the background helps too lol
Superb driving as always, I think 1 factor that may be keeping you from getting that little bit higher is tire temps. I have seen people that have been able to pull up tire temps somehow and when you watch the worlds top times it is evident that they are doing something to keep tire temps in the optimal range - and that is why they seemingly have more traction then just doing a lap the cold starting temps.
I have to say, Congratulations Steve !! Well done on challenging yourself to the Top 1.5% (a la Olympic Esports Qualifier requirements) "Get in there Lewis" indeed 🤝
Yo you know what I've noticed now that we've been able to see your camera more? That your inputs are much more stable than back when you used to stream... You rotate the wheel the necessary amount and keep it there until the apex, then ease it back with grace. I can notice how much less your car wiggles nowadays.
That number one in the world made me laugh. He spent more time outside of track limits then he did within them. He had two wheels on the grass twice through the Porsche curves. The first of the Ford chicanes he was fully off track and the second one the sausage curb went right under the car. 😄😄😄
Get in there Lewis 😮 forget that get in there Steve. 21.2 that’s rapid. 👍🏼👍🏼 Love the shirt too. You can buy that car (M2 BMW)on GT7. It’s even the same colour. 😂
these white lines....why does Sony even paint them when the track limits are always somewhere else? it looks insane how the top times just cut every single corner
Somthing u didnt quite pick on when watching the number 2 player was that he was using the gear limits to slow the car down even more and there for was able to get better exits
The ups and the lows and the inbetween. Really instructional not matter what level you are on. Steve is blindingly fast. It makes me wonder what the difference a pro driver really is. Being more accurate another 2% of times? The margins are so small.
Mate you're killing me here. It took me days to get into the mid 23s and you just fly in at the last minute and do it in a couple of attempts..? 🤣 Awesome TT , good watching.. 👍
Bro... I posted the exact same time as you, a 3:21,217... But I believe I can crack into the 3:20s since I failed the last 2 chicanes and lost about 3 or 4 tenths there.
So much difference with GT4, there with a Sauber C9-Mercedes Benz I did a 3.07 on the same circuit with honoring the track limits, but yea, sims got a long way since :P
Hey Super GT - since im new to SimRacing, im really interested in your settings :D can you give some kind of gear breakdown and your setupconfiguration? well done!! im only achieving a 3.27.8^^
Although super gt is an absolute goat. I still see major areas where he could improve if he saw it too. Either way this man deserves every ounce of praise
I cannot fathom how late he brakes. I have a few gold time trials in my pocket but I just have not been able to brake that late in this one. Insane lap
The trick is to not use full brakes and lockup, if you turn while braking you oversteer. Use only enough to get to a fast enough corner speed. USE YOUR APEX
I just can't get my head round how I am using an identical car, and I can't get it to brake as quickly as Steve can. This is where there's skill levels you can't even see. It's literally identical equipment yet he can make it do things I just can't.
This is proof that you are actually Alex Albon, unbelievable pace! Hot lapping Lemans in group 2 is horrible but to get in the top 30 is Alien level stuff, well done m8 🙈
This is the only track that i can do that allows me to go way past my normal limit, its quite a nice track to drive once you know how to do it well (im not that great at the game, just a casual player)
Hey superGT, I wonder what FFB settings do you use in GT7? What's the Torque number and sensitivity? I'm just researching on this and it's like wow. Such wildly different answers and numbers. Some say "4-4" some say 4-1" some say "10-1" some say "10-10" (first number torque second number sensitivity) etc... And the understanding itself about torque and sensitivity for GT7 differ wildly as well!

I always found this stupid during timetrials and qualis, that you get penalty which stays with you for next lap (unless maybe seleceted last corners). Just don't count the lap, inform the player that cut was made and thats all.
I don't understand penalties in time trials. Make no sense to me. Just invalidate the current lap. Only exception maybe if the penalty was on the last corner (i.e. potentially affecting initial speed of the next lap), in that case it makes some sense to also invalidate the next lap.
