The Fiend theme in this game is a dogshit, overly embellished version of a theme that didn't need to be changed so drastically. Otherwise I 100% agree.
It really adds this majestic feeling to the fight; the god of benevolent destruction dances with such grace, ease and control as he casts Tandava that he mesmerises just as much as he annihilates my squad.
I really like the feel of the soundtrack, parts of it sound like a mix of SNES games and nocturne, some other sound otherworldly and ethereal, like nothing else I've heard in previous games.
@@aleaiactaest6503 Tbh, "part 4" I think has the worst levelling balance in the game. Since when you get there you're probably around level 60? But then the game just throws you in and says "ok, go beat these 3 bosses. they're all level (I think) 72. Good luck"
On the official cd release as part of the preorder deluxe edition, the track is called. " Humans, Demons, and.... " So in other words it plays when fighting proper gods.

I still love both the Fiend and Demi-fiend themes being remixes of their Nocturne themes, it was so nice to hear them and then notice it, even if I didn't initially notice in my first fight with Matador. Kinda wish you could set them to be the originals but they still slap real hard
Oh yeah fun fact! I’m pretty sure the fiend theme goes deeper, with the earliest versions I can find dating to the PS1 remasters of SMT1 and If, and they’ve done a new mix for SMT3, 4, and 5!
I never felt this happy playing a game in a while I really really enjoyed this game 55 hours went like a breeze I know it’s not perfect but it’s damn close, I love all the smt games but I always feel meh at certain parts like the middle of nocturne or beginning of 4 and I love these two to death but this game had me hooked from the moment I booted the game to the credits. The last time I felt excited to go home and play a game was Skyrim when I was a middle schooler or maybe bloodborne I just really enjoyed this game and I know $85 for the full experience is a scam and disgusting but for me personally it was worth every penny this is gonna be one of the classics like nocturne and persona 3 I can see myself coming back every 3-4 years to reply it I loved smt v so much.
great game it is, but yeah, criticisms are valid. 5 years wait and only 25 new demons, others reused assets from persona 5. The story feels like it got scrapped after the Summit. Dazai's slow development gets rushed to endpoint in 1 scene, Atsuta's sister vanishes completely. For 60$ nonetheless. Where did that saved up money go? Persona 5 was worth every cent because it had everything new or greatly improved, in addition to new engine and almost bankrupted the company(their words). But this game for the same price as Red Dead Redemption 2. Sorry, it just blows my mind.

@@vanilla8956 because when you aren’t getting the true neutral ending, you don’t get a second phase in the Lucifer fight and don’t hear the second phase music. While the first phase music is a good build up, if there’s no second phase it’s not really building up to anything. In the normal endings you just hear eerie music for the entire final boss, which is why I think it’s lame in all endings other than true neutral. Edit: nvm your comment went right over my head, you were referring to the game itself 💀

Getting some HARD DDS vibes from Quest v1. Fionn's theme is also great, and I'm really glad the regular battle song is an absolute banger, since you hear it so often.
@@LuffyBlack Meguro's biggest strength is his variety... I think he's better at that than Kozuka, but in both their chosen genres, I feel like they're reasonably close. I do think Meguro is a little better too, though. As for fitting mainline SMT's feel, though, I definitely think Kozuka did a better job with IV than Meguro did with Nocturne... Though Nocturne and V are about equal to me in that respect, so it's hard to rank them even on that metric.

And I also think Quest V2 is titled wrong considering it's one of the normal boss themes. Think that one is the "Humans, Demons, and.." theme. Quest v1 is so interesting. It barely feels like a battle track at all, it sounds like the kind of track I'd imagine in a tutorial fight or a puzzle fight.
I just got to the "Demon King Castle" where the dungeon battle theme plays...man, I love just how old-school it sounds lmao. It sounds like the big boss battle theme from Soul Hackers.
So hyped for Vengeance--I'm getting it on Steam since my PC is far more *demonic* than my Nintendo Switch. One of my favorite things about this game's OST is all the different subgenres of metal and rock you can hear in the battle themes--from speed, grunge, thrash, heavy, and death metal, to hard and old-school rock, as well as some industrial and even some more obscure subgenres. Sick as hell~ I'm not ashamed to say that, as a metalhead and rock lover, I did discover some new subgenres through SMT V. Some of it may be due to how a lot of times, Japan often keeps older musical forms alive after the West has left them behind (NEO: The World Ends With You having a nu-metal final boss theme, for example).
Is it just me or the Yakumo and Fionn battle themes, one part reminds me of DMC's Psycho Siren Which is exactly how I felt first fighting Yakumo and Fionn on Hard, since Phys-attacking bosses are a bit harder to endure since Phys Dampeners aren't as easily obtained as the Mag ones
Absolute beast of a soundtrack. I may even feel it is a bit better than Nocturne! only because Nocturne used compressed audio. SMT5 absolutely delivers. PC release soon?!
Small little detail I love in this game is how the POV shifts right behind the active party member in third person instead of the whole party at once. This, the music and all the other little aesthetic touches just really make the battles really hype. I’m really hoping they re-use the assets from this game and add some new ones to make another game just like they did with IV:A because I can’t wait for the next one.
One song I have not found on RUclips so far dwspite being common in-game. It has a section of the song that sounds very desert-y, like a quick draw battle. I think it starts with slow paced guitar which leads into faster pace and an instrument change

I was surprised when I heard abdiels battle theme, because I feel like it's heavily inspired by prog metal music from bands like dream theater. From all the videogames I played in my life, I find it hard to find osts that are not in 4/4
real question, how do you get the final bosses phase 2 to trigger. Is it only if you do the shiva ending? Both my law and chaos playthroughs I didn't see the second phase or his unique almighty skill.

I can't get over how good this OST is overall. It's also mind blowing just how creative and experimental it is.

real question, how do you get the final bosses phase 2 to trigger. Is it only if you do the shiva ending? Both my law and chaos playthroughs I didn't see the second phase or his unique almighty skill.
