Sweet sweet vindication baby 😎 David just pulled off quite possibly one of the greatest “git gud” called shots in Warhammer history Congrats on the win and your plentiful salt harvest
Hi Guys. I’m a new listener and loving the content. After some info though. Are there episodes where Dave speaks about how he uses his guard? Like he says kasrkin in chimeras, but how and what orders are he using? Also are there episodes where you explain terms like the match up is 15 and 5? Or episodes where you explain how you deploy on different missions and deployments?
I like how the automatic subtitles exchange "Guard" for "God". "I had God right at top." "God uses a lot of indirect." "Other players do x, God can take advantage".
Well done Dave a win at that level is always worth of respect my question is a bit for both of you i know dave doesnt respond but hoping vic might give me his answer as well 😅. Would he have still won if necrons were in his run. If he had hit vics CC round one opponent? Well done and hope you have a contract for saline with a hospital cos i imagine the salt mine runs super deep.
The Canoptek Court cron matchup is tricky for Guard, I think one of 3 potentially tough matchups for guard, and the only one at the top of the meta. Not unwinnable at all though, and probably bang on 50/50
Would be really great, for newer guard players, if there were time stamps, no idea how much work that is, but would be great to know where you are talking tourney, nad where you are talking lists
Were you screening out your backfield against the grey knights. What was preventing him from trying to take out/tie up the indirect every turn with the 3inch strat or at least getting within 9?
Correct me if im wrong.....because....I may very well be wrong! Its happens a lot!! I dont think double fields of fire works in the way you used it. You would need to shoot the basilisk first, spend the 2cp then use it again with Creed and the mortar. I dont think you can do it the other way around because if you use it on the Basilisk second its not allowed as the strat has already been played that phase. You would need Creed to do it second because of her ability wording which means your 1st basilisk would be ap2 not ap3 ?
@@wetwraith I don't understand what you mean. Creed can't use her ability on a basilisk? She has to use it on a regiment unit. So you can't use her free ability on the basilisk?
@firesidepodcast9977 thanks. One other question - didn't you find having the kasrkin in the transport hurt them a bit? I mean they don't get the "in built" order when they're in there and they can't be given an order whilst embarked. A foot slogger kasrkin unit can be effected by two orders and are the same speed as a disembarking unit? I would love to hear your thoughts on what the chimera added to the kasrkin and how you used it
Great Episode - As someone who bought the Christmas battle box - is there a way to justify a Rogal Dorn in the list? Or are tank commanders just better because of the shoot on death?
Shoot on death isn't really that great, or rather for what a tank commander is and does you'd rather it have something that doesn't rely on it dying, the strength of the tank commander is mostly its orders, otherwise you'd be better off taking a regular russ. In terms of the dorn, it is easily justifiable, it is incredibly durable with it stats and ability, the oppressor cannon is a fantastic anti armor gun, and all the rest of the guns on it enable it to put a lot of wounds out. The only real issue with the dorn is its size makes it a bit difficult to use on particularly dense terrain boards.
Im sorry but Dave said it "Im the only person in the WORLD who doesnt run a command squad." Its just... The Guard community just doesnt know how to run the army. This really was a skill issue display. 7-0... Bro... Guard has so much potential. Also I dont agree with the opinion that indirect fire is super oppressive. Its NOT tabling you, its NOT clearing every achetype, especially the manticore. Its just a powerful tool that you need to lean into it and synergize to use. You cant just take 3 Manticore and 3 Basilisk and auto win. Its like from a Guard perspective you can see all the inner workings and strategy that leans into it. And everyone else outside just sees it as "Its just OP"
Hey guys, nothing but support here, the audio levels were off, vik was loud and david was quiet, ive given up listening to this episode as i feel im straining to here david if the volum is right for vik. Otherwise vik is too loud for me when i can hear david well.
Rapid ingress works on any unit in reserves. If the unit has the deep strike keyword it can use that rule instead of coming in at the table edge / deployment zone. That might be what you’re thinking of.
The attitude displayed by the host ain’t the way to handle this. The speaks for itself, saying “fuck the haters” is poor form. I see this ending badly.
Is this the greatest villain arc of all time? I think so. I hope so. Love it guys!
Poppin' that beverage was perfect.

vik's mic is a lot louder than dave on this one
David is using his indirect voice
When David enters a room we all have to salute because he is our commanding officer for he is the superior guard player. o7

Have a friend who plays guard and ive been saying to him for a while listen to these guys ,well done dave for the win at south coast gt

I love that you backed up the words with ACTIONS! Love that you stuck it to the Reddit Trolls
Just discovered you guys from Mordian Glory. Really excited to hear other content creators go in-depth with guard! 07

@splitstriker thanks for the reply and just to say I loved the steady walk through its a good reminder of the nuance of the data.
Well done Dave - congrats gents! What timing!!! Lol. 🍻
The sledging going on behind Jazz music is my new favourite segment of your show.
Super pod cast fellas,
Would be really great, for newer guard players, if there were time stamps, no idea how much work that is, but would be great to know where you are talking tourney, nad where you are talking lists
Goal posts keep moving back. I love that David put his money where his mouth is.

Great Job, great Podcast, really inspiring !
Does someone know if one of the games was streamed?
I learned a lot watching this video thanks guys!
RIP Sid. Very nice guy.

he probs used it to move creed around bruv@@Chronomix-m4u
I need to say this... I was wrong
Do you expect to know better than the best pros of the world?
Congrats to my teammate Ed for making it to the finals with Gk!
Hi guys, just getting into AM; never played them before, so was glad to find your cast, are there any decent Discord channels?
This episode makes me want to start playing Guard just to spite reddit
You should, it’s a great army! We would be happy to have more guard players.
David what is your opinion on the helhound inside a medusa avenger scions archetype?
Fully expect Americans to just see this and go wow the uk tournament scene must be super casual 😂 well done on the win!
VINDICATED
Do you think Kasrkin pts cost is too low? I have a metric on of DKoK but it seems the inherent value of Kasrkin is just better

Great content! Please fix mic sound level tho
Can he do it with imperial knights?….
Sound is very bad, I turn it up because I can barely hear Dave and then Vic blows out my ear druma 😭
The difference in volume has made this un watchable for me, any chance of a re upload?
Fuck the haters. Nice work Dave!

32:10 "Rapid Ingress a Tank Commander" did I hear that right? I thought Rapid Ingress is only usable on Deep Striking units now.
Rapid ingress works on any unit in reserves. If the unit has the deep strike keyword it can use that rule instead of coming in at the table edge / deployment zone. That might be what you’re thinking of.
@@jacksonletts3724 I think I misread the changes in the Jan30th update. thanks.
@@StaticSilence1 I made the exact same mistake, managed to miss the "and" which completely changed the meaning of the text
Great content but the breathing into or tapping on the mic is hard to listen to. Gets worse at 55min
Why do you say you love playing games when you know exactly how the game will go. How is that fun for anyone?
Indirect is a cancer on the meta. Indirect doesn’t table you it just destroys opponents highest value units.
The attitude displayed by the host ain’t the way to handle this. The speaks for itself, saying “fuck the haters” is poor form. I see this ending badly.
Cry about it lmao
Guard player detected, opinion discarded.
Ah jeez man, take a chill pill.
Life's too short not to be able to laugh at yourself or have some good ol' banter.
Go home cry baby.
