Hello friends! This week we make a customized Sewing Machine Cover to fit your sewing machine. They don't only look cute, but they help protect your sewing machine from dust and pet hair, which helps prolong the life of your sewing machine.
I just finished making my cover. I used pre-quilted fabric that I cut from an old comforter I was going to cut up anyway for other sewing projects. That fabric had a finished inside fabric on the back, so I didn't need a lining, or the fusible fleece. I finished the bottom edging with coordinated seam binding. I love how it turned out. Thanks for providing a very well-done tutorial.
You are an exceptional teacher and I appreciate your being so thorough. I also appreciate your kind, encouraging voice and the time you spent making this tutorial. Thank you.
Have been looking forward to this instructional video, knowing that it would be quite a challenge. Am going to make this sewing machine cover because my sewing machine is pleading me for it. So appreciate what you ran into using the fusible fleece. I think that I will try using a very light loft batting because with all of my health issues right now I am already tired thinking about having to iron so much 😂. Am already visualizing my happy sewing machine with its cover, and seeing both happy in my sewing room. Stacey, thank you for leading and sharing with us. I have learned so much, and am making fun and useful items to gift to others and for my own use. Am also using fabric that I have purchased over these few years when I decided to learn patchwork and quilting -- saving much money😊. 🎉❤
Thank you for your kind words! 😊 I'm so glad you're making the cover and adapting it. It means a lot to hear the tutorials are helpful. Happy sewing! 💖🧵
Today, this is what I’ve done! I added a sectioned pocket along the front instead of the side. It’s my first time using fleece (I’ve only been sewing for about a month). Thanks for the great tutorial 😊
That sounds amazing, Deborah! 😊 I’m so impressed with what you’ve done, especially being new to sewing. If you want to learn even more, feel free to check out my free "Learn to Sew" course here: www.stacey-lee.com/2021/05/11/sewing-with-stacey-lee/. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! 🌟
Thanks for a great easy pattern and tutorial. I made a cover for my sewing machine and my cricut, all in one day. Wish I could attach pics!! Sent you Thanks $s!
Thank you so much! 😊 I’d love to see your creations-feel free to share your pics on my Facebook group! It’s always inspiring to see everyone’s work. Thanks again for the support! 🌟 facebook.com/groups/staceyleecreative
Thank you for being so clear with your explanations. I’m not a beginner, but I would not call myself accomplished either. I followed along with you, but only ventured out a little by adding my own matching binding. Next tim, and there will be a next time, I plan on adding a top handle, long side pocket and…who knows! Thank you for giving me a solid first experience and the confidence to venture out out a little more next time. 👏🏼
Thank you yet again 💜 May I suggest you show your cutting as a lot of people has not seen the other video and might be watching and following step by step
Hi Danelle, I agree, the problem is it makes my videos very long, also a bit repetitive for those that have watched the whole series. I’m not sure what the answer is. 😊
What a great idea. Such a perfect cover. Once again, I love the way you take your time and explain each step. It makes it so easy for those of us who are just learning to sew. Thanks again. 😊
I got a sewing machine for Christmas and needed a cover. I am not very skilled in sewing just yet but the video was very easy to follow and it turned out great!
That’s awesome Sage! Thanks for letting me know 🤗 I have a series for beginners here: Learn to Sew for Beginners ruclips.net/p/PLOfuHJF5AcWGRPjuVoeelxTGgf4D3JXAU
Watching for the the 4th or 5th time, and finally realizing my fabric isn't facing the correct way. 🤦🏻♀️ Oops! I probably shouldn't have chosen directional fabric for my first project. 🤣
Not too long ago I actually thought about making one of these but didn't have a pattern. And once again, here you are. You really have an uncanny knack for doing projects I've always wanted to do!
Love your video and especially the way you showed how to calculate the measurements. The side pocket for the foot peddle is an excellent idea as well as necessary. I’m going with your lesson. Thank you!
Loved your video. Finally gave in and bought a sewing machine to replace my "vintage" machine. Sewed quite a bit in my younger years and wanted to start again. First project is going to be a cover for my new machine! Your video will help me ease back into sewing again and learn the features of my new machine. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
What a wonderful idea for a project… This is something that everyone can use and should use! Thank you for these fabulous videos, you are a great teacher
I've been wanting to make a couple of these for a while now. I have watched many, many videos for the sewing machine covers and I think yours is the best instructional and best looking cover. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!!!
Great utorial, really easy to follow. Mine is in progress made it with left over duvet for the inside and strech jean material, i'm delighted how it is turning out so far. I will additionally add and ikea blue bag with handles to it cutting it to size so I can also take it out to my course if needed. thanks will be tuning in for more tutorials for sure
That sounds exciting! Good luck with your serger project, and I hope it turns out great. Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment 😊
I will be making this sewing machine cover very soon, the tutorial was very informative! I think I will do a machine embroidery design with a saying about my sewing room on it. Should be a fun and cute quick project! Thank you! 🤗
@@staceyleecreative I have been sewing simple things for years. I have a 6’2” frame and want to make a spring jacket… I have the pattern (which I will have to amend) and all of the material. Do you recommend buying a dress form? Do you have tutorials on sewing coats/jackets or any advice you’d give? My mom used to be a seamstress, but she passed away years ago.
I made this and it's great. I used a fusible interfacing that was a little too stiff so I left the front panel unstitched for the turning out part. I think it might be handy to add a fabric handle on top, which I think would be done before stitching the sides to the main body piece. I would make it almost like a zipper stop and put a piece of fusible interfacing inside for some stiffness.
Beautiful, practical & keeps dust & light off the machine. The side pocket seemed to add stability so I would consider adding one on the opposite side providing it doesn't look distorted over the round wheel.👍 Thank You for a very clear tutorial & understandably many "thumbs ups".👍👍👍💌
Stacie, I made it and it came out beautiful! Thank you so very much for this tutorial. Look forward to goi g through your site to find more fun projects. Thanks again.

Think I may make a couple for my machines, as currently I just lay a tea towel over each. I am wondering about making a custom made opening at the top for the handle to be able to be used when moving the machine. Would you make a video showing this? If so, that would be great. Thanks
Hi Hunter, Thanks for watching my video! 😊 I have a lot of videos planned right now, but I’ll add it to my list of suggestions. It’s a great idea-thanks for sharing!
You could have saved time by sewing lining onto the pink fabric by placing ĺining on the outside, fabric laying ģood side to good side, sew all the way around the hem, then turn inside out, no fussing with leaving a gap, pulling through- then closing the gap.
Hi! Thank you for this easy tutorial. I’ve been searching for one that wasn’t so complicated. However, I was wondering how would I add an opening to the top for the handle to be used? I take my sewing machine to classes so I would love to have a cover that made the handle accessible. Thank you
Hi Laura, sorry this tutorial doesn't include how to have an opening at the top because that's more complicated to work out and I was keeping this tutorial simple for beginners. Perhaps ask at your sewing class how to work it out, or find a tutorial that does have the opening and combine the two together 😊
Hi Nancy! Yes you can! Many people have left comments they did just that. I don’t have a kitchen aid or I would provide the exact measurements. Thanks so much for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment 🤗

I second this. 👆🏻 I like the dome shape, and the fact you give the formula for figuring out measurements. 👍🏻👍🏻
