I love your class. It’s the best, plus it’s slow enough for us to watch and do the setup your describing. Thanks again.

thank you thank you thank you. I bought a unit for my 770 and did not get lessons with it. You have explained quite a bit for me. I am very curious, should I hold the thread when it starts a new color or just let it go under, it seems to have a mess on the back if I just let it go under, but then again, it has trouble, it tries to pull it under with it if I hold it, what should I do? I did download the Mastery workbook onto my computer, and have used it plenty of times for reference.

It does leave a little mess on the back if you don't hold it. If you decide to hold it, make sure you have pulled out quite a bit of thread and that you hold it LOOSELY. It has to pull the thread under enough to make the stitch:-)

I am confused about "Smart Secure"; it seems what Laurie was saying is the opposite of what the manual is saying.

    • @Pip7-px3wq

That’s correct, it is the opposite, Laurie unfortunately mixed the 2 up. Needle/knot before the dots on the first symbol, means it securing before sewing. And, the second symbol shows the opposite, which means it is securing at the end of sewing. I noticed that when I watched yesterday as well. Easy to confuse the two symbols, but if you look at the dots, which are meant to represent fabric, before and after the needles/knots you can easily tell. Hope this helps Mary 😀🦋🧵

Should i upgrade from my 770 to the 790?

Do you embroider? If so, the added functionality is worth it alone! If not, then you need to weigh whether the larger touch screen, stitch designer, and sideways motion stitches are enough of a value to make it yours. I would never go back to a 770, and I don’t embroider much, at all.
