EXCELLENT WORK, GOOD INSTRUCTION, GOOD VIDEOGRAPHY... I COULD SEE WELL.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH...! THESE GEN ONES ARE ACTUALLY A LITTLE EASIER THAN THE GEN TWOS.
Thanks. Just to note, a check engine code of P0128 may indicate a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. And there is a wire connected to it that you have to remove before removing the sensor.
My Equinox has the same problem. While driving, my oil temperature gauge drops all the way down, and my AC will stop working. That's 99% of the time the coolant temperature sensor.
My daughter's car ( 06 Equinox), her temperature Guage started jumping all over the place then it would go back to normal, repeat that cycle occasionally... then the car would eventually start jerking/ bogging down. Car wasn't overheating though! ( Thank God)
the orange engine light comes on and the code is for loose gas cap (bad gasket) or this sensor. Gas cap $14, sensor $26. It now runs with the light off.
No, this controls the temp of the vehicle and deals with the air conditioner. The temp gauge will read high though, yet it wont over heat because a good thermostat will still open and operate like it should. If your thermostat is bad, you will over heat, which is not good. This senor is a senor to get the correct reading of the temp of the vehicle. The air conditioner will stop working, to prevent burning out the compressor.
Actually it reports the "supposedly" temperature of the engine to the computer of your car which then tells your car how to regulate other functions of the car...
He broke the sensor plug. You notice he tried to reinstall the new one but couldn't use the socket due to the sensor being too long. You have to use a wrench, but he shut the video off.

Thanks for the video it definitely helped me!!
did you have to drain your coolant?
Thank you!
ISN'T A WIRE CONECCTED TO THE SENSOR?
yeah.. how the computer will turn on if it dont connect to wire?
How did you know it failed?

How did you know you needed a new sensor..mine gets hot at idle after a while but fans still come on
this is the issue i have
Did you fixed it? I have the same problem works for a little bit then gets hot and dies..

That would be your thermostat
What deep socket did you use?
19mm
3/4in socket
Is this the thermostat we're talking about.. I have a 2011 equinox that went idle and ran hot

@@bignell44 ty for the info
Wrong
It controls the cooling fans

Did you break the plug to take it off😂
Man this is not the sensor . Sensor has electric connector in it
