RIP Glenda Jackson. This episode has a fond place in my heart as an American who , pre-RUclips, had UK friends tape and send over this show on VHS. This episode was the first I ever got to watch go out live, standing on a chair to be able to hear it while staying at a hostel in Dublin in late '99.
@@653j521 The name does, for sure! Though I dare say His Lordship is more well spoken and polished than everyone’s favourite lovable slob, haha. Though he likely also has a set of Royal Doulton with hand-painted periwinkles. XD
today on ReWatch : the Earl of Onslow, he later appears with Linda Smith and charms his way through the show. thanks for the fun we get here with Bowman Hath, lots of ReWatches.

Hopeless politician though
Every time I see Glenda Jackson, I always think of her master class portrayal of Elizabeth Tudor in Elizabeth R. Marvelous lady and actress.
Does Onslow remind you of Keeping Up Appearances? :)

I love this show, thx for posting 📫 💕
Watching this 23 years after the original air date so now the opening joke about the Queen makes sense.
.Thanks.
Judi Dench said she got hammered with Glenda Jackson. Imagine a recording of that!

A most memorable and enjoyable guest
Lord Onslow is well worth his weight...a brilliant wit....(and I'm a lifelong socialist...)
Thanks so much for posting.
I only know Glenda Jackson from Hopscotch. And she was great in it.
Thanks for sharing.
Glenda Jackson is a perfect fit for this show, smart, quick wit, and can take a joke. made for a very good show.
Smug socialist, more like.
9:21 "You weren't standing!" 😂
Onslow comes off better than Glenda Jackson who was permanently on the defensive
It's funny when they use a ventriloquist dummy, but where does the name Lord Onslow come from?
Glad that the old democracy abomination of the house of Lords is still around.
Idk rwttwu
jackson is an airhead
