It's amazing to me how Jonathan Scott makes himself at home with every organ that he sits at. But it is clear that he and the Bridgewater instrument have a much deeper connection. Mr. Scott is Associate Artist of the Bridgewater Hall, and so plays the Marcussen organ regularly. Bravo!
Magical, Jonathan! Just close your eyes and the music sweeps you away into wonder, all the while speaking to us in tones as soft as a Mother’s lullaby! ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
“Tu che a Dio spiegasti l’ali. O bell’alma innamorata” (Donizetti) is another great Aria well suited for the beautiful clear-singing stops in this organ
This is so lovely - thank you. I also really like the shots of the Bridgewater Hall from several different angles, showing what a fantastic venue it is.
Beautiful transcription and registration, but where is the trill at the end that Sutherland made so famous? Is it written just as a mordant? I wish that there were a Sutherland organ stop. I love both the boldness ( 8' and 4' Prestant?)and the delicacy of this organ.
An "Old Dear" is anyone over 40 male or femail who knows what they know and likee what they like. Their musical taste go no further than "pretty pretty easy listening" Take Huddersfield. Full Town Hall for populist stuff. A handful turn out to hear real music at the University Recitals. That is not me being snobbish. It is me pointing out fact.
Why would this be populist cack? The French organist and pianist Ignace Leybach produced a fun Fantasy on Norma and so too is Liszt's Reminiscences on Norma. Are those intellectual light-weights for you?
Spectacular! The rest of us mere mortals have to be grateful that we share the planet with such accomplished people.
The Scott brothers are a credit to England and a gift to the World.
Totally agree....
Such a moving piece
Jonathan, your interpretations are so moving! I could barely hold back the tears. Bellmore, NY USA

J'aime cette pièce. J'adore l'entendre chanter, mais, à l'orgue j'aime bien puisque je suis un amoureux de toutes les musiques d'orgue !
Maravilhoso!
BELLA BELLA JONATHAN

Now a sutherland stop would be a wonderful thing indeed!
Sublime! Have never commented on any of your videos before, but being 'first' - had to! Enjoying much of your playing, please keep it coming!
Отличная, мелодичная!! Александр Одессит
De tranen kwamen vanzelf! PRACHTIG
A very good idea to represent that Godess with a flute harmonique...
L'orgue chante pour vous
Trovo bella la trascrizione: l organo non solo suona, ma riproduce la parte cantata...tanto da ricordare famose soprano...
Only Callas and Sutherland were as good!
He is such a good player. Why does he only post populist cak for the "Old Dears"
cack or cake?
Have you checked all the output? The old dears to which you refer obviously have a very broad and varied taste
What a snobbish comment. To which “old dears” do you refer?
