Somewhere in heaven, I’m sure that Mozart is smiling and thinking that his own transcription would have sounded just like this. There is no higher praise. 💜
Nuž vypočuť si túto skladbu je nádherný zážitok. Obdivujem talent tohto majstra. Táto hudba naozaj poteší človeka a dodá mu chuti do života.
Of all of the instruments HE gave man to build, the Organ is still the Greatest of all instruments. I have played the organ since age 3 now 7 decades later cannot play due to disability but I still keep my old Hammond B3 (1953) and Conn 651 running... Help save the PIPE ORGANS from destruction
What a remarkable gift this is! The fact that you chose to perform classic music by Mozart adds a unique and rare touch. It’s a shame this kind of talent isn’t more recognized. Congratulations for mastering your craft, bringing to life diverse melodies on an instrument that many fail to truly value.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart [my favorite classical composer] is lucky to have Jonathan Scott choose his music to play!!! What better tribute to the Master???? And with this masterful organist's production---Mozart will attract many more fans.....
genial!
Jonathan Scott plays organ in a high level and niveau. He is a very big and great genius. He plays organ with both hands and both feet. This is very impressive and very difficult to coordinate everything. Moving the feet and the hands so quickly is very demanding for the brain and the body is tired after a large organ session with the hands and feet. The organ is a very giant instrument and the organ sounds like an orchestra, because the organ has many soundcolors.
OMG, JONATHAN! Just when I thought that there was nothing you could perform that would surprise me, along comes this absolutely masterful performance! I thought that one’s feet had to fly playing Bach’s “Jig” fugue, but THIS! God only knows how long you had to practice this before this recording took place! Such unerring footwork is almost beyond belief! Once again you have proven yourself to be one of the greatest organists ever! Between your laurel wreath performance and Tom’s, as always, superb camerawork, this is a video I will enjoy for many years to come and I can never thank you both enough!❤️❤️😃🏅🇨🇦
I know organ is not as popular as it used to be, but I am 32 and have decided to seriously take up learning the organ. I studied trumpet in college. So, it's not going to die.
Breath taking performance. A joyful piece of music played with both fervor and ease. Almost super human. Maybe divine! Thanks yet again to two uber-talented and generous brothers.
What can I say...a phenomenal talent. I could (and have) listen for hours. And thank you, Tom, for bringing these performances to life and showing us exactly what we want to see at each point in the music.
This took me back nearly 40 years, when as a pupil at Ellesmere, I listened go this magnificent organ everyday .... While counting the pains of glass in the windows. The organ remained constant, the number of pieces of glass never did!
The colour of the stoppers in the metal pipes gave away the builders, as soon as they appeared! Many thanks, as ever, for another, brilliant, performance, proving that the human brain can be the best of all 'solid state' actions.
This is the most outstanding performance I have ever heard of Eine Kleine Nachtmusic. It seems as if it was composed specifically for this beautiful organ and organist. You are doing true justice to an excellent piece of music! The Romanze /Andante is, of course, my favorite.
Interesting how similar allegro can be to the overture to the Marriage of Figaro at times. Definitely a Mozart work. Nice arrangement of these movements. One of my favorite Mozart selections!
It is so reaching the soul to realize that he has coordinated ten fingers on 3 keyboards, used his feet wearing special shoes not to mention reading the music and setting his own stops on the fly.
Highest artistry. Among a universe of musical details and choices to consider they always seem to pick the best ones. They bring innovation in tradition, proving that music shall never be a mere art of careful repetition, new paths are opened here with infallible good taste and real passion for sound.
I have never before heard this in an organ-version. Beautyfully played, well arranged - sounds to me somehow heavenly. Thank you for this wonderful masterpiece.
The organ is a one person orchestra and almost any piece of music sounds great on it. I've even experimented with playing a piece or two by Metallica on the organ. I just put Und Nichts Anderes Zählt instead of And Nothing Else Matters in the church bulletin. I got caught. One lady recognized it but she loved it.
What a gift to organ music lovers! Artful transcription, flawless, execution. Beautiful pedal work! And by the way, really lovely video capture. Thanks again.
What fantastic playing, videoing and still shots of the organ the pipes and the building. The organist must have spent hours in practice to give such a polished performance. Just the sort of music and playing to give a lift in these low days of shut down. Well done sir long my you continue to play such music.
My Sister Barb would LOVE this! Even though Mozart never wrote this for the pipe organ; it works! REALLY WORKS!!!! I love the slightly strident nature of the Principals on this instrument. Makes up in dividends for it's slight stature! Overall, EXCELLENT!!!!!! Wish I could see the registrations though. There's a particularly nice flute in the swell division that is bright - but not strident, full but not 'fat', clear and transparent yet loud in it's own right. Based upon the stoplist provide I'm guessing the Koppelflöte but not sure... Couplers can do amazing things though! You know what? It could be this " Plen jeu III rks " Never encountered one, but never heard an organ flute sound so good....
Amazing. It's worth mentioning that in Baroque music, the pedals often play simple sustained notes, but in this transcription of a classical period work, they do pretty complex melody lines. Coupled with the occasional visits to the swell pedal... how he manages to do it flawlessly without ever looking down is beyond me.
It's actually much easier to locate the pedals without looking than the keys, they are much much larger and the difference between adjacent noted is obvious with practice. The real trick is not slipping on the bench (or worse yet, off the bench )
Superb. I would be interested to see a brain scan of Jonathan Scott, compared to a surgeon mid surgery, a general mid battle or a chess player mid game. The level of intelligence to play several tunes at once with such delicacy, it cannot be remotely normal. I feel awe when I watch this.
Dear Jonathan thank You for sharing Your awesome arangement and interpretation of "Eine kleine Nachtmusik". I'm impressed. It would be great to hear You also on at least one of our instruments in the region. Jonathan, you are the best! So enjoy all your performances as well as those with your brother. Thanks for the music, mate. Would love you to come to Australia sometime!!
Superb isn't good enough! I just love your registrations. They really bring out the instrumental passages. You are an absolute joy to watch and listen to. Your talent knows no bounds. And as for your brother's filming, how on earth do you make this happen so seamlessly? Even the best editing program couldn't do it as well as you do. Amazing. Pedal work is spectacular.
Ah, the first piece of classical music I really listened to some 30 years ago. Still sounds good to this day.
Bravo, maestro Jonathan.
