I always say "teaching seems to be the most difficult task". This man proves me wrong. Thank you - great tutorial, Mikey.
Love the illusion created from a static image. Thanks!
This has been one of the best tutorials i have watched in a long time and very well explained, thanks a million !
You are great in explaining complex things so easily. Thank you very much.
I find the animated water really helpful considering I have to present a render of my project in the ocean. Way easier to just animate the water without having to waste 2 hours for caustics, great video!!
Dude! You did an incredible job illustrating and speaking so perfectly and knowledgeably. WOW! I know zero about any of it LOL, but enjoyed how perfect you delivered it! GREAT JOB!!
Very much a mind blowing technique that I would never have thought of using.
Thanks for such a clear tutorial! Will definitely be giving this a try.
Thanks for this dude
This requires a lot of imaginative power and creativity. Well Done! Splendid & a great masterpiece!
just tell me...are you a magician?
+Nafiz Hossain my dad is a magician so I'm only half magician.
+After Effects Tutorials w/ Mikey wow..it runs in the blood
esgh
funnny
@@LongLiveMikey so sweet reply
That is so cool. Didn't even think you could do that with AE
very nice finish for something you do in minutes, can only imagine giving you a few days!!
You have great solutions to really nail this effect! Thank you so much for the great techniques! It would be really cool if you showed us a way to mimic the way water Flickers sun flares off some of the ripples :)
Thank you. Clearly a Pro. Shows how much there is to learn.
Hey man I LOVE the speed of your tutorials...too many tutorials over explain every little thing but yours is great
This is life changing.
Incredible.
Will be animating some 35mm film negatives, I wonder how much more convincing one could get it if you captured the elements better and spent more time feathering and stuff
Thanks for a great tutorial, concise and to the point.
Bro! This tutorial rocked my socks.
You make crazy stuff in 10 mins and I spend full day understanding how you did it.....Lol! I aspire to be as good as you some day.
I enjoyed this lesson because it is presented using the normal speed. I learnt a lot. % star rating for this video. Awesome!
Great Video Man! You really helped me big for an assignment! Thanks!
Just discovering After Effects and yours is the first video I watched. Wow! Great job!
Thank for this. Helpful when you need a quick reminder. Wondering if you're able to linger a bit longer where you are finding the settings, seeing as AE has a million windows! Keep it up!
this is stunning! this is the future of marketing.
Wow, what I mostly learned is how clever you are!
Great technics...! I use Photomirage and a few plugins, But I definitely need to try this one.
Great video, thanks for posting. I haven't used After Effects before, and this makes me feel up to the task. And thanks for limiting your audio to just the steps needed -- lots of videos have too much filler talk, and yours doesn't. Nice to find that. :-)
Dude I learned so much from this and I do these for a living. I use some different techniques that involve a lot of precomping and duplication - which can increase render times a lot.
This is mad good for education yo'
The grass above the water and the water above the sky, that should be a song..
I would love to see more videos for animation techniques for actual commercials or ways to animate for clients - if you need ideas for future videos.
U R THE BEST TEACHER EVER BEEN IN THIS PLANET I LOVE U A BIG HUG FROM COSTA RICA
Great tutorial! Really enjoyed applying this to my own image! Thanks
Bro this is amazing!
Great job Mikey. That sure beats the method of combining different images to get the right look. This way, all the colors are right and it seriously looks good!
Great work
this guy is a magician
Mikey Mike this is awesome!!
That is so incredible. Great job
A moving sky reflection on the water would be cool to add too : )
I've learned great things from this, i thank you very much.
great video, thanks
great work, thankyou
wow that was fantastic
This is incredible! Thank you so much. I wanted to do something exactly like this when I go to Mexico and take some beach photos, this was super helpful!!
So nice tutorial!
Very beautiful and useful tutorial! Thank you=)))
Beautiful tutorial! Thank you so much! What would you do if you wanted to make it look endless instead of jerky at the end?
Wow. Looks pretty good
You make things seem soooo easy! love it!
Very nice! I'm going to try this, for sure.
Wow! Congratulations.
thats really cool. cool!
Fantastic! I have some shots I have been trying to figure out what to do with, lot of landscape shots like you did in this video. Newb AE guy here, but I will figure this out in a few weeks I am sure. Thank you for the video!
This was an awesome tutorial!
SUPER cool. Thank you for this clean and straight forward tutorial
Stunning result! Thank you. I have just subscribed. The built in lens flare in AE is terrible though. Knoll Light Factory with the stripes and subtle additions would be ideal for the final touches. Or creating a few sun rays/stripes with shapes would do it too. Keep up the good work!
This is something ive never thought about. genious, thank you
looks great, i couldnt have guessed it was a photo
Nice. Another alternative is the use of camera projection.
thanks a lot!!! so nice reverb
It would be just appreciated to see a video with one layer and animate it. This video is great for someone a little more advanced and with several layers. My composition has just one movement back and forth and I just want to find a tutorial that explains just that.
Witchcraft!!!! This is friggin amazing! You've opened up a whole new level of stills. Please keep the tutorials coming!
Mikey, thank you for a very useful tut. I have found enlisting still photos (that have been animated in AE), behind FG composited live action, can be an effective way to create FX shots. :)
Impressive!
I want to learn more about animating still images. If possible, can you show us how to animate:
- Rain
- Snow
- Thunderstorms
- Water
- Flame / Fire
I want to apply these types of effects to still images.
FANTASTIC!!! Thanks a bunch!
I do a lot of after effects take it from me, Your are very good.

8:08 nice technique to make a sun, thanks
Nicely Done.
Just what I was looking for!
Could you possibly teach us a way to add bevel and emboss throughout an image? As if like say the image had a random pattern and i wanted to make all the shapes on it get the bevel and emboss effect, how do i do it?
Question: I am working on a scene. Girl on rock in front of water and waterfall in the back. So it's not as easy as top and bottom. The girl on the rock should be the top layer? Also, is the "mask" the part to hide or is a mask the part to be shown through? Mask the part to show or is the mask to see-through? Masking is always weird for me. So the question together would also be, "I'd mask the girl to keep her protected? Or mask everything except the girl-on-rock to preserve the girl on the top layer?
This is so great, thanks you !
This is sick
Awesome stuff! thanks a lot.
great work. thanks alot
Dude, you are awesome!
The skies reflection in the water is uneffected
