I love Forget me Nots! State flower of Alaska!!
Yep, my Alaskan flower beds are blue with them right now. They spread and easily reseed l
Can they be infused in oil then added to homemade soap? What color would the oil be?
Yes, you can infuse any such herb and oil and add to soap but the color of the oil will likely not change much with the forget me nots.
Thanks so much for your godly stance on this platform. I appreciate you and learn so much!
Thank you Heidi!
Related story - the chickens were out where the borage was last year. I'd let the last of it go to seed but the girls had really done a job on that bed! 😯 I was amazed they came back taller and more robust then before. It certainly makes we wonder about seed packets that tell you to plant 'just this way'. 😄
Blessings! 💜
My dad gave me a FORGET ME NOT EARINGS AND NECKLACE 60 YEARS AGO.
I HAVE THEM AND ❤️ LOVE
HIS GIFT.
HE died 2007.
Mom 2016.
They are asleep with JESUS. I grow them in my flower garden.
They spread wild. Blue.
Thank you for your research
GLORY BE TO GOD HALLELUJAH 🙏 BLESSED FATHERS DAY.
I FORGET ME NOT. FINE MEMORIES ❤
I would love to see a picture! How dis he do that?
I mean, how DID he do it?
Lovely! Thanks! This one and Chickory flowers are 2 of my fave wildflowers! I am partial to blues vs Yellow.
If you Identify BY Character of Plants, like Master Herbologists do? (And Oldtimers used to!) This one strikes me instantly for eyes!
Don’t have any Forget Me Nots but I bought a Lovage plant 2 years ago for $1. Didn’t know much about it except that it was an herb and a good price. I love it for the flavor and its nutritional value. I haven’t had to buy as much celery unless I really want the bulk or the crunchiness. The fact that it’s a perennial is a plus. It’s currently in a pot so I just have to figure out where I want to put it in the ground because it gets quite large and I want it to thrive so I have more to dehydrate. I know that’s off subject but when you mentioned it I just thought about how happy I am with the Lovage and thought someone else might be interested in it too.😀
I have two lovage plants that are in their third year and starting to flower, I have not used them for anything yet other than nibbling on the leaves here and there
@sonia henney9827: Your comment is very much appreciated, thank you for taking the time, Sonia; I just learned some very useful info about Lovage. 😊
My grandmother’s favorite flower
Great information! I actually bought seeds and am about to plant the starts in my garden. :)
Their seeds seem like they'd be great for a quick-fix hem stitching. Thanks for this great info, Heidi! I had no idea they had all these benefits!

Hello Heidi
There is a pink variety of forget-me-not. Would the benefits be the same and might the flavor change?
Where did you get your mojito mint I have looked so many places ? I'm excited to learn more about all this information
So pretty! I have some lovely tiny blue flowers spreading through my lawn and I thought they might be forget-me-nots. But the leaves are different. They're tiny like the flowers. 💙💙
Thank you for this video. This is my states state (AK) flower....and it grows wild on our property! :)
❤
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! I've got a bunch popping up in the yard, neat little flowers!
I am very impressed that forget me nots are also good for women's health. Thank you for sharing Heidi. God bless ❤😊❤
I enjoyed this video while preparing my comfrey to infuse in olive oil for a salve.
🙏🕊🙏
🌸❤🙏
SO pretty! We have a field of those nearby. Just gorgeous!
🥰🤍
Oh my! I love the thought of doing crafts with the flowers....like sun catchers or wind chimes!❤
We used to have lots growing here, but I think they got taken over. I do have some seed that I need to sprinkle around. Looking forward to seeing how the vinegar works out.
I've been trying to identify and research various plants in our yard and I've experienced the same - really having to dig to get information. I believe you are correct - when you can't find much info on an herb, chances are it just hasn't been researched much....not that there isn't any medicinal benefits.
BTW - just looking at a Forget-Me-Not makes me smile! God is so very good!! God Bless!!
I feel the same, even as a child I always found that just seeing them made me happy
Great info. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you great video
You're the best! God bless😊
Thanks Heidi 😊 ❤❤
Good morning Heidi! ❤❤❤
I know you have to do your own research and that's what I came up with
This article would say otherwise on the red clover: thelostherbs.com/fermented-red-clover-for-rebuilding-bone-mass/
Awesome.
😊
I had no idea! Forget-Me-Nots are also symbolic to the Alzheimer's Association. Interesting that they are useful for brain health. I'm planning to look into this further. Lost my dear Grandma to dementia and I wish I had known more ways to fight it naturally.
I saw mullein in a garden center but in different colors. Would that be as beneficial or has that been crossed with another plant changing its efficacy?
I only know of mullein with yellow flowers, are you sure that is the plant you are referring to or did you mean another?
@@RainCountryHomestead it was tagged mullein..I didn’t buy it because I had never seen that. We had one wild mullein but unfortunately the railroad company sprayed it 🤦♀️ before it went to seed of course hoping to find some this year
I think I remember now seeing that there is a pink mullein and I know it is not unheard of for there to be other colors of common healing herbs but they are usually cultivated and often lose some of their health benefits
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you! I thought that might be the case, hopefully we can find some wild ones this year. Shalom!
This is great information as usual. Thank you for sharing. I have learned so much from you and others and (of course) my own research. You and your husband are very inspiring to us as we continue on our journey to self-sufficiency.. May God Almighty of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob continue blessing you.❤
1:19 So I did some research on clover and I found out that if you fermented it, it's toxic. That you should eat it fresh or dried. Is that what you came up with Heidi? I don't believe I got that out of your video but I'm not really sure I just thought I would bring it to your attention
Did you find that on multiple sites with science to back it or just one? That sounds a bit suspicious to me. Also, can you share your source. I have used red clover to make a fermentation starter without any issues
Taken from: thelostherbs.com/fermented-red-clover-for-rebuilding-bone-mass/
"Research shows that the isoflavones found in red clover become more bioavailable when fermented. The four main isoflavones begin as glycosides, which still have numerous health benefits (especially concerning treating various menopausal symptoms), but when fermented, they turn into aglycones which bind to beta-receptors and therefore can increase bone mass."
