Lovely finish on the body, what a car. But Harry please invest in soem better mics, the audio was very unclear at the beginning. Also strangely the video is sped to 1.5x speed during the drive review!
The frustration is this is the first video I've done with a new £500 microphone! Now everyone things I sound weird, when maybe this is what I actually sound like through a very expensive mic..
The pitch (@7:02) does sound as though it’s been sped up....
@@harrysgarage being in the paint room probably didn't help but it was hard to hear you both clearly
Glad someone else noticed. I thought I was going mad. The audio is definitely slightly pitched. The Testarossa still sounds amazing, though
A lot of hiss on the workshop soundtrack, as though it was recorded on a cheap cassette without Dolby !
It does sound sped up a little from 7:17 onwards too.
Thing about Harry's channel is you get to meet the people who did the work, which to me, is a huge thing. Master craftspeople, every single one of them. Great video Harry.
Same!
I enjoy hearing the problems they run into and how they work around them.
Yes, brilliant craftsmanship
Jay's leno's channel would be better with more of the mechanics... they seem like such cool guys!
@@albertgerard4639One of the reasons I sort of stopped following/watching Jay's videos.
I can't believe nobody is noticing or telling in the comments after 7:20 the video is sped up and Harry's voice sounded all hyped and a bit like he had inhaled helium!😂
I knew it haha I thought I was going mad!!!!
First video using a new (and very expensive) microphone! Will investigate but this video is most definitely not speeded up..
The in-car for Emira 4-cylinder had the same issue.
I did wonder whether some helium inhalation had taken place off camera. Mystery solved.
I think Harry had his pipes cleaned too... 😉
This man is living the life of what young boys with toy cars dream of
Make those dreams happen.
@@JustinJaiC.yeah, keep working your warehouse job and you'll eventually get there!! You'll be able to just about get a Golf GTI on the road insured 😂😂😂😂🤡
No shit
You mean "young boys around 65"? 😁
Sure do we ever grow up 😂
The funny thing is this car now has much better fit and finish than it ever had from the factory! Congratulations Harry!
Waking up to a new Harry's Garage video with a fresh cup of coffee makes my Sunday morning complete!!
Are you on the west coast of America ?
I’m just trying to think where in the world it is morning time right now .😀
@@Carrera-gp9od he could be having a lazy east coast sunday morning
@@mattblack6736
He could be , it is the day of rest after all 😂
I'm in Alberta, Canada. So west coast!!
Harry gets his £200K+ Ferrari back from a 9 month bodyshop visit, looking TOTALLY pristine....and immediately makes plans to really use it over the next few months.....THAT is why we respect him so much, and love his channel!
This one is not 200k
@@mick123789so what is it then ?
@@grahamatsea3575 I wish you were right because I have one, but its value is nearer 120k
I started following this channel just when the video about the trip with this car to Africa in Morocco came out
It’s a masterwork! This restorer is the most unassuming, unpretentious character who is absolutely straight forward and matter of fact, no bullshit, but his hands directed by his brain accomplishes marvellous work. The Testa looks amazing!
The shot directly behind the Testarossa was so good to listen to, it sings such a rich symphony, great stuff.
The allignment of all panels and the gaps is probably 5x better now, than on any original Ferrari from this time period. Absolutely masterful work from the guys of Prestige Refinishing, very statisfying to watch.
14:40 This slo-mo corner shot is epic. Backlit, nicely flows on that suspension squat, so cinematic.
That video out of Burford up the derestriction zone was very Outrun! As an ‘80 kid, it was a surreal moment! Loved it!
the audio from 7:24 onwards seems to be quite high pitched
Listening with ear phones and thought my hearing had gone funny.
Think the playback rate is a bit fast too at that point.
Sounds like his trousers are too tight 😂
The bodywork & paint don't come much better than this. It truly looks utterly fantastic and so much better than it probably did leaving the factory. The rocker covers look amazing as well.
Gorgeous! This car is probably in better shape than when it left the Ferrari factory. this video makes me very happy!
Back in the day, they were very high production and very low QC. They didn't start when too cold or too hot, electrics were positively British, they leaked from new and the differentials used to split open. Catalytic converters would melt. The garage I worked at got rich off them as people ran to us to avoid servicio oficiale prices.
Shooting self in foot moment. I have never seen the appeal of the Testarossa. Too wide and the side vents look OTT.
@@markgilbertson1564 I agree.
the ugliest Ferrari in my opinion.
still wouldn't say no to drive it though
I love the way Harry is unashamedly enthusiastic. Channeling the inner schoolboy, and not remotely embarrassed about it.
I dont have any of these machines and it is brilliant. No service costs, parking anxiety, insurance bills, theft worries or having to talk to garage types. Life is lovely. If I want a poke a trackday satisfies. Life is lovesome !x!!
The garage is transforming into concourse-standards across the board. Fantastic content as always!
It makes sense when it increases their value 2-3 times the cost
Concours.
I remember seeing what must have been one of the first Testarossas in the UK on Car magazine editor Ian Fraser's driveway in 1984 & being told ''DON'T GO NEAR IT...!!!'' 😆😆😆
We were Norfolk lads, so we were used to seeing Lotus Esprits on the country lanes around us & in the nearby villages, but the Testarossa was spellbinding to look at with those side intake slats.... 10/10 from this Norfolk Lad & Lotus fan....👌
There is Nothing like the early Supercars such as this car or Lamborghini's they look and sound FANTASTIC!!!! And they are DRIVERS cars NO traction control, No ABS etc just 4--500hp of rear drive goodness!!
Harry at about 7min when you were talking the sound quality went a bit funny!
An absolute symphony from that flat 12. One of my favorite Ferrari models, that and the 288 GTO.
Testarossa, and the version you drive in particular, is and always be, my dream car. There's no F40, Countach, Aston Martin or Porsche of the same era that I would love to have and drive more than that late 80s TR (double mirror, single bolt wheel and flipping headlights).
Really love your channel Harry. Thank you for sharing the drive of that wonder.
It's a glorious car An 80's superstar A paragon of retro glamour It's no banger I'd like to drive like I just escaped from the slammer A beautiful redressing Our British craftsmen are truly a blessing adding value too if it ever comes to reselling Big ups Harry
Like an 80's TV advert Harry EXCELLENT
Love these guys, they are just good honest craftsman. It looks brand new, and we know it is probably better. Good for another decade at least. To start your love affair again with the Car priceless.
I take my hat off to Adrian and Sam. Those shut lines are so impressive and far superior to the ‘80s factory finish.
Ah lovely. The restoration video diaries are absolutely my favourites.
Your boyish enthusiasm is intoxicating and as a “Seen Through Glass” admirer I particularly enjoyed your reference to Sam and his 360. In my humble opinion we get to see the Master and his very accomplished Apprentice on RUclips and I for one am extremely grateful for both. Keep up the great work both of yoy
No other RUclips car guy gives you such an honest insider's view of car collecting. Thank you Harry!
Absolutely stunning Harry. This is how a Testarossa should be treated and appreciated - and it makes me even more cross that people like Moggy from Electric Classic Cars thinks it's better to rip its heart out and replace it with batteries and a motor.

What a beautiful job they did on the car! It looks fantastic. I'm really pleased for you. Thank you for sharing the end result here on your wonderful channel.
The 80's looks, the bellow of the flat 12, the click-clack of the shifter.....yeah. An icon of a car.
Gods, the older TR with the black stripe at the front and the older wheels.. What a legend car!
You are a lucky boy Harry, having all these beautiful machines to look after. Stunning car !
The color and paint on your Testarossa looks almost liquid Harry. Perfect finish, those guys really do an awesome job and your glowing reaction to getting the car back makes it even better.
God bless from Norway
Excellent footage of a red Testarossa driven hard, at the start of the 1986 French film 'Association De Malfaiteurs'.
Guy in my town with a red Testarossa like yours, you see it every once in awhile, still one of the best looking cars ever.
Great piece, Harry! Question: is the drive section commentary sped up? The audio sounds very different and much higher pitched via microphone?
Thank god it’s just not me !!! Said to wife what’s wrong with the voice !!! 😂
Yep, definitely sounds off.
It sounds slightly sped up to me or Harry’s been on the helium.
it's definitely at a faster playback speed
I love Harry, but yes, he sounded like a lollipop kid from munchkin land driving a testarossa, lol 😆
The Testarossa never gets old
When I was basically a kid I remember pulling up to the pump in my first ever BMW, a 316i Saloon in Red.. cloth trim nothing special and a guy pulled up the other side of the pumps with a brand new Testarossa. I remaked that it was absolutely gorgeous and he asked 'swap?'.... 15 seconds of excrucuation.. I knew he was joking but I was torn apart with thinking 'I couldn't ever possibly even get insurance' :D. That's a really good job - really hope you enjoy it and show us more Harry :)
Harry is such a legend for taking his testarossa to the Sahara. No one like your mate.
The Man and the machine that inspired me to buy my own red over black Testarossa! Such a welcome addition to my Sunday afternoon! Cheers, Harry!
It looks fantastic…craftsmanship really shows
Might just be the best engine/exhaust noise ever!
Such a beauty, an absolute icon of the 1980s. There were three car posters hanging on my wall as a young kid in the 80s: the Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach, and Lotus Esprit.
The closest I’ve ever been to any of those cars before was getting to touch a Lamborghini once, lol.
Congratulations for getting your car back. It turned out spectacular. Great that you are keeping it in such good nick
Harry's voice sounds rather high-pitched from 7'15" for some reason. Is there a helium leak in the cabin or is that just excitement having it back?
That is covid. It affects the voice of some people and it is making a bgi come back this fall.
@@alexandrecouture2462nonsense. More likely an editing issue. He didn't get long COVID halfway thru the video
@@alexandrecouture2462 thank you doctor. If there is an ailment I of course wish Harry well👍 It sounds more like a slightly sped up video though but who knows. Lovely sounding engine regardless of pitch :)
Yes weird
This engine sounds like it belongs to a scene from a Bond movie - half expecting a 150 piece orchestra to chime in with lush string music, a bond theme and the car climbing up to an Italian ski resort!
I used to own a 512TR, and I couldn’t agree more on that magnificent sound and the cars easy to enjoy nature…! Actually I’d say in retrospective, it has been the best car I ever had!😊
Fabulous restoration, looks absolutely stunning and probably better than new. Keep it out of the sand!
Great video Harry and one of my favourite Ferraris
What a work of art this exquisite car is, the sound is symphonic. Congratulations!
What an orchestra of sounds! Beautiful.
Fantastic that you’ve got the Testarossa back on the road in best ever condition, it’s definitely the vehicle that epitomises the eighties supercar. Can’t wait for the video of the rebuild costs🙄👍
Such a great vehicle!
The quality of those boy’s workmanship is absolutely second to none 👏🏻👌
So good to see the car come back like new. This all boils down to letting the right people do the work.
Harry - just got back from following your Route Napoléon trip in my 458. Thank you for the
inspiration ! There is just something about Ferraris. I hope to keep mine for many years too.
I did exactly the same in my 458! Have had it for 9 years and counting and have no intention of selling. Enjoy!
Hurrah, back to the classic fleet! The new stuff is ok, but the older cars are much more interesting! Great work Harry, thank you.
Sublime episode, the elegance of such a car restored, the sonorous tune of its mechanics and the justified excitement of its owner.
The sound is sublime. Gorgeous.
The power of this brand... wins the Singapore GP today, and both Iain Tyrrell and this channel's releases happen to be Ferraris. New and old, race and road, the reach of the Ferrari brand is truly impressive. Can't think of any other car company like it!
one of my fav Ferraris . Thank you for taking care and loving it. The Induction sound is just visceral and the engine sound is fantastic.
Beautiful result. What a joy to know that experts can do such excellent work!
Might be my ears, but the sound of your voice seems 'off' (maybe higher pitch?) starting at around 7:14, when you're sitting in the car. Otherwise a great video.
Does his voice sound slightly sped up or am i insane?
yes and yes
Absolutely love the resto video’s, your enthusiasm, excitement and the obvious joy you get from owning and driving what are probably some of the best examples of retro super cars in existence is palpable! Once again hats off to Prestige Refinishing, flawless bodywork and paint, truly a testament to your skills and astounding attention to every detail. Whatever it cost, the satisfaction that would give any owner makes it value for money. Stunning, beautiful car, in a garage increasingly filled with some of the best most beautiful and usable classic cars from the last 50 years, thanks Harry.
Brilliant work and what a car. Excellent content Harry. This is the sweet spot.
Has Harry been on the helium?
I am pleased it's not just me who thought that
Your voice sounds weird when you're in the car.
Yes it does doesn’t it
Really strange audio lol
Yep. Sped up. Sounds like he’s on helium.
Oh just heavenly both the looks and the sound. This is the car of the dreams of so many and one I think of on hearing Chris Rea’s Passione.
A full English and the image of this car would be a great final wish!
What an icon - both Harry and the car! Beautiful sound, thanks for sharing - made me smile!
Fabulous . The view at the back , Outrun . Epic .
Thanks for sharing. Flat 12 is truly a work of art that will never be seen again.
11:30 brought a tear to my eye
Thank you so much for this update! It is so cool to hear and see the Testarossa. And thanks to Prestige Refinishing and all the craftsmen who refettled this car.
Lovely Car...great sound. Wish i had bought a Testaraosse when they still were sold for 60-70k .
Absolutely Love these two guys , takes me back to when I was a kid ,been shown how to do things ,by older much more experienced guys , who knew there sht
Fantastic vid, Harry - as always - thank you for sharing your cars with all of us!
Looks superb and sounds even better. Thanks Harry and the team at Prestige!
Congratulations Harry on a beautiful Testarossa! And thank you so much for sharing these magnificent machines with us!!!
Always enjoy Harry's videos, especially this one. Great to see a beautiful Testarossa brought back to "rude health" and looking and sounding mint. And Harry with that boyish grin says it all. One happy chap!
Absolutely stunning outcome!!!!! Such an iconic and beautiful machine. 😍
Got shivers going down my spine listening to that accelerate away down the road!
Thanks for sharing with us, such a unique sound and car.
I think I prefer the sound it makes to some of their v12's
Very nice Harry, what I always enjoy is Harry’s genuine joy and enthusiasm especially when driving one of his own cars
True Petrol Head!👍
Absolutelly gorgeous! Stunning! Thank you so much for sharing the experiece!
I had a poster on the wall of this car in my teenage years. Still a breathtaking design, and the engine sounds just right.
Props to the restorers.
Beautifully done - immaculate restoration. You look rightly proud as punch.
Great to see her back in full glory 😀
Always look forward to your Testarossa episodes, Harry! She's a beaut that gets out well.
These older Ferrari and Lamborghini made this glorious sound. It was all about that sound and emotional feel.
Wahoo, so glad it’s back, looks and sounds superb, great job guys. Thanks Harry.
A thing of beauty, far better than new. I'd happily sit in the garage and stare at it (and the Countach and...)
That noise of the gear change. Neat.
After watching the sound clips .. couldn’t help but feel jealous of what you were feeling and hearing during the pauses of exhaust note .. in particular the clink clink of the metal gated shifter . 🙌🏼
Thank you for sharing !!
Glorious! What a great outcome, looks and performance both. Easy to see why you’re so fond of the Red Head.
An icon of the 80s! Straight out of a videogame :D My level of envy is over the roof!!
Great vlog Harry. The Testarossa looks and sounds absolutely mint! What an iconic car!
Can't say I care to look at it but I'll never tire of hearing it. Thanks again for sharing Harry.
Thanks for sharing this Harry. What an incredible machine! The styling is timelessly beautiful and that sound is pure magic!
