Hey man love the content been following your channel since day one all of your insight is priceless especially with Bryan. I had a quick not to add though the combo using the new move from orbital seems to have the last uppercut wiff if orbital is hit in neutral and not while hitting an opponent that was pressing buttons. The one exception I found was if you sidestep to the background first even a small one will do but on Asuka and geese at the very least the last uppercut doesn't land unless I'm just not as good as my short dash as I once was lol. I don't mean to being this up to nit-pick cause you're doing some amazing stuff and I love the chanel but found this labing and thought I'd share it with the community. Keep up the awesome work man
Additionally doing one jab (1/Square) apparently changes the position enough for it to be 100% reliable. The only other ones I've landed have been 3/70 and if I'm not mistaken. I let the opponent float just a tiny bit longer by drawing out the 4,3,4 part of the combo almost like you would with df 1,1,1.
I'm apparently sticking with the motto here and making progress not perfection 😅 seems like there's a timing issue can't say for sure but it would appear I'm not letting bryan away forward long enough after b3 f before hitting 2, 1. If any one had a similar problem and figured it out please let me know. Thanks for all you do, you're the man!

I like the fact that you must dedicate a decent amount of time to the char to be able to perform something more than his bnb. Let's see what happens. Good work!!
Bryan this season lost some of his identity. He wasn't meant to be a rush down monster, nor was he meant to be an execution light character. Oh well.. things change I suppose.
Hi Peter!😁 Great video as always. Good changes because of 1+2,2 - so much easier options for combos. I don't think we need consistent Soccer Kick.. with change like this Bryan could become almost broken character in so many scenarios. I dont't know... Great change for d/f+1,2 ! Gatling Rush is not easier to do (maybe a tiiiny bit, but it's almost no change here) , still I can do this move on pad, so ok. Hatchet and Mach Kick - veeeery nice, Now I just wait for your next video with new combos 😃
I would say the addition of 1+2,1 doesn't make Bryan a broken character my any means. Even with all the changes that Bryan got, he's still no where close to being the strongest character in the game. Just strong changes at the best and quality of life changes at the very least.
Fantastic video, very informative and love the examples. One of the most beginner friendly ones I've seen. Btw. I love the stage mode, could you share the link?
The changes are nice if u ask me. Pretty much make his pressure and combo consistency a lot better. Although sometimes the b3, f,21 ender straight up hits the air for me against characters like Heihachi,Drag and Steve when I use the snake bite(1+2,1) route. Any suggestions?
Good shit. 1+2,1 takes away a bit of Bryan's identity by making it easier to output big damage. CH Qcb3 was a cherry on top though. I'd agree with you on all scores you've given too. I will still try to go for the big boy combos just to flex on the opponent. 1+2,1 only when I really can't afford to drop it
Hello Peter, loved the season 4 Byron video , i tried the new combos but the ender's last hit seems to whiff a lot of times i.e b4f21, again amazing content !!
It really feels like as an addition 1+2,1 was put in to make the character easier to pick up in general. The basic 1+2,1 4,3,4 S whatever combo seems to work on pretty much anything, is easy to land consistently and does okay damage. I've started to dabble in the character recently and find a lot of the combo video style combos a bit wonky to actually pull off in rounds but 1+2,1 picks up pretty much for free and makes the character a lot easier to use in general. I'm on the fence about whether that is a good thing. They've made a lot of characters known for their wonky pickups or specific combo routes a bit easier and more rounded to use but that might risk taking away some of what made the characters interesting. Obviously it doesn't change high level Bryan and your vids are important to getting to that next level, I just thought you undersold the change a little given how much it lowers the entry barrier.
I think with a lower entry barrier, I don't see it as a bad thing. Bryan players will still end up getting stuck at some point. Perhaps initially it was the yellow / orange ranks that players were getting stuck, but now it will be the red / purple ranks where they get stuck. As you said, it ultimately doesn't change the high level Bryan stuff which I think is okay. Getting more people to pick up Bryan is important since you can't get more people interested in a character if they don't even consider picking up the character xD.
@@PeterYMao you forgot one thing. This would also change advantage on counter hit from 21 to 24 and finally fix his magic 4 combos (compare law 4 with bryan with frame data on and both on normal and ch)
Peter. FF4(Ch) dash qcf21 b3~f into d+1+2~f 21 is 82 dmg easy mode compared to both dashjab and mach punch combos from ff4 ch. Learning how to reach with d+1+2 is linear and stable.
That combo will never work on smaller hitbox characters, therefore I don't consider it a staple. It's a niche / character specific combo. f,f+4 -> qcf+2,1 -> b+3~f the b+3 will whiff on characters like Noctis, Yoshimitsu, Xiaoyu, Kazumi, Alisa, Asuka, Lucky Chloe, Zafina, Lee [insert smaller hitbox characters]
Hey Peter, love the content, gotta say your channel helped me get started in Tekken more seriously. Do you have any advice for playing inconsistent characters? I switched from Bryan to Lee in order learn a bit more of the game, but things his f21 not wall splatting, b1:12, and his df1 in f34 wall ender whiffing are all driving me insane. Besides the obvious of switching back to Bryan and continuing to learn from your content, do you have any feedback? Thanks!
Biggest tip I have for beginners is to learn a character and stick to that character until you have a good handle of that character. I don't want to come off harsh, but most likely you are probably not good enough right now to be juggling 2 characters, especially 2 technical characters like Bryan and Lee. Either stick to Lee or stick to Bryan. I guarantee that MOST of your games you are not losing because of inconsistent stuff. You are probably losing because of things like not being able to throw break, not block punishing, not whiff punishing enough, not being able to get away from the wall, not knowing when to low parry a string, not knowing when to sidestep a string and launch punish etc... etc.. Those types of things that you can control are things you should focus on. The inconsistent stuff can be dealt with later when you have a better mastery of the character.
I really like this buff/nerf rating system! This gives Bryan changes an overall score of +28. It would be interesting if we could do this for all characters to then see what number the average score is and how our own characters compare to that.
Great vid btw I think I've gotten some use out of the d2,3 change, I believe when it used to hit someone in the back, the second hit would just sorta go over them, it looks like it always connects now. Don't ask me why I'm getting into situations where I'm d2,3-ing someone from the back though :^)
Haha. Unfortunately I do not have the passion to teach in schools, only Tekken. So until schools across America start to have Tekken as a curriculum then I don't be teaching. :P
But I'm sure I'm not pressing. As a matter of fact, it's a normal hit. It happens often after hatchet kick. I'm not sure if the frame advantage makes it easy to clip me, but I definitely go far enough to make f3 look homing. I'll provide video proof... One day
I use D2 3 to frame trap a lot and when it catch opponent hopkick in season 3 the second hit will not connect but now becuase of range increast it hit. Give me little bit more damage. That the only good thing i can think about D2 3 range buff
How are you frame trapping your opponent with the range? I don't understand. Frame trapping is based off your plus frames. I think we are confusing some different terms
@@PeterYMao I didn't frame trap by range. The range increasing just make the second hit connect. In season 3 if my opponent hopkick the first hit will slam them on the ground and the second hit will miss but in season 4 the second hit will connect to the opponent on the ground.
Hey, is 3,3,2 --> ( dash only 1 time ) 1,2,4 --> --> ( double dash into unblockable ) 4 a good combo, cuss it does 76 damage but it's not very easy to land. Btw I love the guides they helped me a lot
cool, thorough analysis! patch note terminology question: doesn't range imply the horizontal space the move covers and not what it covers laterally or vertically? And to cover the other two it's usually in terms of the move's hitbox size?
Horizontal space is typically range, but at the same time when horizontal space is increased it also improves the ability to hit better in certain situations.
From what I can tell, the change to d+2, 3 is most notable when you're off-axis. In the past, if you connected with d+2 while off-axis, the 3 extension would still often whiff. This is no longer the case.
Hey Peter, been a while. Hope you're doing well! Just asking about the new JU combo, that's JU, ff4, 1+2,1, 1, b3~f2,1 that does 74 damage. I get it most of the time but I'm struggling with consistency. Is it just not worth it or am I just used to qcf3,4, b2,1,4, b3~f2,1 combo :/
Hello sir I hope your doing well!! But I have to ask, can Bryan still do his ss1 into Mach kick, into the triple loop knee, into D3,2? because I can’t land it anymore🙉 I can only get 2 knees unless my execution is lacking now, but I can finally magic 4 combo!!! thank you man!!! My favorite Bryan teacher
Damn soccer kick. I thought we can finally use it as a consistent follow up, but Nnnnnnoooooooooo... but yeah i gotta say that level of difficulty in execution of combos was lessened thanks to snake bite. (1+2, 1). Kinda lost a bit of what bryan was known for. But any form of buff is good especially when i saw the old bob from tekken 6 has returned.
@@PeterYMao cos long time ago it was unique for Byron, now it's not so WE. NEED. BUFFED. SNAKEDGE!1 the mid SNAKEDGE the projectile SNAKEDGE the unblockable SNAKEDGE yea... that's dumb :D
I don't know if this is a good place or a good time to ask, but when are we getting a Bryan season 4 combo guide? Now that the new move (1+2 1) changed the way most combos can be done, I think that deserves a new combo video. Just saying.
@@PeterYMao That would really be nice. I dont even know why they made this niche buff since it mostly effects Lee and Lei who could reliably capitalize on that. But apparently Ill have to use that to initiate my attcks instead of guaranteed damage.
How would you cover nerfs then? Based on a 7 digit scale you would be rating nerfs as 0 which doesn't make any sense. Or perhaps I'm not understanding what you mean by 7 digit scale.

You always put out quality content. Easy Sub, Easy Like. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the sub :)
The bryan magic 4 change is the same as akuma d4 maybe its like an angle increase, the range its the same but maybe it is a hitbox change
Ah, thanks for the tip on that.
I really like this buff/nerf rating system! This gives Bryan changes an overall score of +28.
It would be interesting if we could do this for all characters to then see what number the average score is and how our own characters compare to that.
This is an interesting point you bring up. I hadn't thought of adding it all up and doing a comparison xD
Yooo you might have just come up with a sick idea for a series
Great vid
btw I think I've gotten some use out of the d2,3 change, I believe when it used to hit someone in the back, the second hit would just sorta go over them, it looks like it always connects now.
Don't ask me why I'm getting into situations where I'm d2,3-ing someone from the back though :^)
LOL. Sure. Whatever works xD
your explanation to all your videos are awesome dude. u shud be a teacher haha thumbs up!
Haha. Unfortunately I do not have the passion to teach in schools, only Tekken. So until schools across America start to have Tekken as a curriculum then I don't be teaching. :P
I wish Bryan had a snake edge cancel into crouch stance😈...thats the only buff that matters😈...great work man keep it up ✊
Maybe one day lololololo
Hahaha why not think about it lol
Also, I'm not sure if it was already this way, but f3 has been tracking me to around 90° to Bryan's right.
It only tracks when the opponent presses a button.
But I'm sure I'm not pressing. As a matter of fact, it's a normal hit.
It happens often after hatchet kick. I'm not sure if the frame advantage makes it easy to clip me, but I definitely go far enough to make f3 look homing.
I'll provide video proof... One day
@@bsrkay5352 I already know what you’re talking about. f+3 tracking is amazing and terrible at the same time
Great video
Thanks!
@@TheJojokoonsai O_o? It hits grounded?
@@PeterYMao It not a truely ground hitting move. The second hit of D2 3 will connect only when it catch airborn opponent.
I personally am not a Bryan Main (I use Lee, the practice dummy in this vid😅) but these videos are just awesome to watch! Love your work!🔥🔥🔥
Glad you think the content is 🔥🔥🔥
Hey, is 3,3,2 --> ( dash only 1 time ) 1,2,4 --> --> ( double dash into unblockable ) 4 a good combo, cuss it does 76 damage but it's not very easy to land.
Btw I love the guides they helped me a lot
Thanks for the tips Konstantions :)
cool, thorough analysis! patch note terminology question: doesn't range imply the horizontal space the move covers and not what it covers laterally or vertically? And to cover the other two it's usually in terms of the move's hitbox size?
Horizontal space is typically range, but at the same time when horizontal space is increased it also improves the ability to hit better in certain situations.
From what I can tell, the change to d+2, 3 is most notable when you're off-axis. In the past, if you connected with d+2 while off-axis, the 3 extension would still often whiff. This is no longer the case.
Good to know. Thanks for updating me on this.
plus now it works in juggles
Why use d+2,3 when you can use qcf+2,1?
@@PeterYMao I'm only saying that it works :)
small tip
i just found after f1+2 you can do:
ff, db1+2 for 50 dmg and balcony break :D
you welcome :p
Small tip, I already know this and it’s in my advanced combo videos. :P you’re welcome
crap...
hmmm you know after ssr df4 you got d3,2 ord3+4,2? old stuff, but not many know of it
Bryan should have quick punishing moves like King has simple back 1+2 and also should have confirmed 2 hit or 3 hit attacks like other players have.
I struggle with consistency too, so I just do JU into qcf+3,4. the f,F+4 into 1+2, 1 it seems you have to time the b+3~f+2,1 really tight. =\
@@PeterYMao Dang. Being off axis to the right makes it work great but dash, ssr into 1+2,1 seems near impossible so fuck it
I never knew about that soccer kick hard combo. Is there a centralized place where I can find these combos and are these ACTUALLY USED in games?
I have a combo video for Bryan (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced) 3 videos for each player experience level.
I'm still spamming snake edge here at blue rank
Ok
WS 3 4 is now easier to connect witch magic 4 than before because of the better range of magic 4.
Really? Because I've asked the Bryan community on discord and from their testing it's literally 1 pixel that the range got increased.
Just so you have an idea this is one pixel l that line right there. It's roughly 1 pixel.
@@PeterYMao not sure but i used to miss that combo before and I feel like I missed less than before.
SS+1 (SSR) into mach kick into triple knees yes. It's still do able.
@@PeterYMao thank you I was side stepping left 😪 didn’t know that was the issue. Your the best mannn!!!
Have you seen the live of bryan ?
Huh? You mean the cosplay?
Hey man I was wondering i haven't played tekken since 2018 and I was wondering if its worth getting into again.
Of course :) Tekken is a long term game. If you start learning now you will have a head start when Tekken 8 comes out.
I have problems connecting the last hit of b3f21 for the combos. Any tips?
Dash deeper and slightly delay the f+2 .
@@PeterYMao Thanks Peter
I always wiff the 1 on the ender when I do b3 f2,1. Am I doing something wrong? Not dashing deep enough?
not dashing deep enough
Damn soccer kick. I thought we can finally use it as a consistent follow up, but Nnnnnnoooooooooo... but yeah i gotta say that level of difficulty in execution of combos was lessened thanks to snake bite. (1+2, 1). Kinda lost a bit of what bryan was known for. But any form of buff is good especially when i saw the old bob from tekken 6 has returned.
Yeah Bryan kinda lost his identity :(
Really wished we got a snake edge cancel in season 4 and yes Soccer kick is always full of regrets.
why are people so fixated on snake edge?
@@PeterYMao cos long time ago it was unique for Byron, now it's not
so WE. NEED. BUFFED. SNAKEDGE!1
the mid SNAKEDGE
the projectile SNAKEDGE
the unblockable SNAKEDGE
yea... that's dumb :D
@@aztekwr let's just have a 15fr snake edge. This way we can have an easy 15 fr launcher. Yeah? sounds good? 😁
@@PeterYMao sir, yes sir :D
Yeah I tried to cancel the b'3 in dB,21.... and bryan ignores me 🤣
There is no d/b+2,1 for Bryan.
You'd be surprised how many players(even higher level) press buttons after 1,4,3 since "No one will ever finish the string." Yeah... Nice little buff.
Doesn't seem like a great move to me which is why I'm rating it lower.
Don't care 13:24 THATS A RATING OF TROLL!
Yup definitely troll
Be reaaal nice if I got some good Kazumi buffs, but no. My db4 got nerfed. Again. At least Josie's new move is pretty good.
Lol. Rip Kazumi
I main Bryan
Me too.
I don't know if this is a good place or a good time to ask, but when are we getting a Bryan season 4 combo guide? Now that the new move (1+2 1) changed the way most combos can be done, I think that deserves a new combo video.
Just saying.
I probably don't be a doing a new combo video at all. I don't exactly have the most time to record and compile it.
@@PeterYMao Understandable. Have a good day. 👍🏻
Oh Harada, why did you have to make fF4 safe? The only thing that I could reliably punish feelsleeman.
RIP :( sorry man. If it were up to me. Mach kick would be -11 for crouch so everyone gets a ws+4.
@@PeterYMao That would really be nice. I dont even know why they made this niche buff since it mostly effects Lee and Lei who could reliably capitalize on that. But apparently Ill have to use that to initiate my attcks instead of guaranteed damage.
Can you upload online gameplay video
Check my twitch. I have my gameplay there.
like peter says "hatchet the shit out of them"
Hatchet gets better every season.
peter translates the korean software.
? translate the Korean Software?
wow, no nerfs??
Nope, Bryan dodging all the nerfs like a ninja.
@@PeterYMaoi still wonder why im a lee main to this day "sad pepe noises :("
I actually watch your bryan videos to be better at fighting vs him 😅
Smart man! Learning to counter by watching what he wants to do.
no nerfs to snake edge? smh capcom
LOL. Move is already bad xD
PeterBryanMao
:D
Peter come back
Lol i jus started playin like last week
Well, now you have all the information ^_^
I'm shit at this game either way, but been playing bryan cause looking for something new. Far different from my man king.
👍👍👍
@@PeterYMao king at least got jaguar step and his side step throw cancel for movement. Bryan is literally tekken to the T.
Bryan is problem most solid character
And Heihachi
Stop buffing hatchet kick ffs
I would swap all the hatchet kick buffs for a soccer kick buff... like hitting grounded.
It used to grant a full combo on counter hit when tekken 7 first came out
i dislike the rating system. Should be 7 digit scale. Its a much better number. Think of the aesthetics Peter.
How would you cover nerfs then? Based on a 7 digit scale you would be rating nerfs as 0 which doesn't make any sense. Or perhaps I'm not understanding what you mean by 7 digit scale.
:(
?
@@PeterYMao was hoping i can finnaly kick people when they are on ground
Nope. Maybe Tekken 8
