Wow, thank you. Such a wonderful description - and even though I’ve been using my Babylock coverstitch for well over a decade, I never had formal training, so this was absolutely WONDERFUL. Thank you!
WOW 🤩! Your techniques & demonstrating is spot on👌! As many RUclips videos I came across yours is absolutely the best. At a really good price ($599 no tax, free shipping) I purchased the Janome 2000CPX. Not a Janome fan but do love the 2000CPX. That said, your video was the only one on RUclips explaining the proper settings for leaving the looper thread inside the machine after threading. And, your the only one explaining where to place the needle threads after threading. Can’t thank you enough for sharing your talents and keeping this video on RUclips -Thank you. I subscribed 😎
I cannot thank you enough for showing how to thread the looper!!! I've been struggling with tweezers and swear words!!! Thank you so much for all of this content.
I have this exact machine. I really love it. It does a beautiful job on super stretchy fabrics like swimwear & aerobic wear. Amazingly the seams are super stretchy with using regular polyester/cotton thread. It also has differential feed adjustments for any type of knit fabrics. So far has worked great on anything I have tried.
I love how you explain where the top threads should be before you commence sewing AND where your looper thread should be after you thread and before you start sewing. Thank you.
thank you sooo much for your clear instructions of the Coverpro. I've owned one for years but hardly used it. Now will actually make room for it on my sewing table to use more often.
Your video is one of the best ever. I confess I bought this machine a year ago and I'm still fighting it - and I sew for a living so it is disappointing. I'd love to see a tutorial on gathering and elastic binding as you are a great instructor. I keep telling myself I will take time to learn properly, but I am "sew" busy I find that I just work around it. You've given me inspiration to get back to it.
Thank you so much for this most informative video. I have just watched one by Janome and the hemming was actually never mentioned. All your tips have motivated me now and given me the confidence to make some accurate hems. Before this I was stumbling around as if blindfolded and wondered how to get the stitching actually on the hem - something that cannot be actually seen when sewing. Really grateful.
I have had the same machine for a few years and I found your video a lifesaver at the beginning. I even come back occasionally as a reminder if the basics. Not sue I have eve4 seen anyone explain a coverstich machine as clearly. BTW I have the seam guide and love it. I also have the clear foot and believe it should be included since it is indispensable. Thank you.
@Begonia L - thanks so much for watching and commenting. I'm glad to hear this information was so beneficial. Just used my coverstitch machine yesterday...love it!!
A. Lebeau
Armande Lebeau Moi aussi, près du tunnel Lafontaine. Serais-tu intéressée à ce que l'on communique ensemble pour partager des trucs et secrets de couture?
Excellent instructions on how to use the cover stitch machine. I recently purchased this machine from a friend. I had difficulty connecting the thread through the tension. I managed somehow and it stitched a good looking stitch. Thank you for your video...very helpful.
I just received a Janome 2000 cpx for Christmas from my awesome husband. (So very excited). I found and watched your video first and then proceeded to use my new machine. It worked like a charm and all the tips that you provided were the best. I read through the manual as well, but your video was much more informative. Thank you
So good . Very helpful and informative . One of the best tutorials on a cover stitch machine I have seen . Had no idea they have been around for years . I am writing this in 2021 .
Now I get it! - how to end a stitch that is... Thank you for your clear and precise instructions on how to do that! The instruction book was very cryptic about that aspect and absolutely lacking... Thanks a bunch!
Glenda, once again you really help people with information. I wish I had had this several years ago when I bought my Janome Cover Stitch machine. I have learned to use it the hard way (trial and error) but, I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes life much easier. Thanks again for your help and for returning my call regarding more room in the crotch of pants the other day. You are very much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watched this as part of researching buying one, and bought the Janome Cover Pro 2000cpx as a result. So helpful! I earmarked all 3 videos, and bought the clear view foot, thank you so much!
Thank you for your Coverstitch videos...am always learning something...did not know my Janome had the free arm capability...am so happy you shared that feature!
Thank goodness I found your videos!! I just unboxed this machine and it didn't sew quite like it was described.. And the manual is sorely lacking in detailed information regarding threading. So, I've rethreaded and am watching all your videos regarding this machine! Thank you for the precise details and great visuals!! I'll be joining the SFD community to see what else you have available for information! Thanks again!!
Thank you, thank you! I bought my Janome Coverstitch 5 yrs. ago, and have never used it! Guess it's time to take the cover off and put it to work! Great and informative video.....as are all those you have shared with us!
Hi Glenda 😉 I love your video as it is going slowly so a non english can keep up and follow along ... I keep coming back to watch so I can get my coverpro started 😊 thank you so much 💗🌹🌷
Thank you so much for your advice re- having a separate coverstitch machine. I’m thinking of getting one and wondered about the pros and cons and you have helped me decide, much appreciated 👍🥰
Excellent video. I own the Elna 444 which is basically the same machine and never completely learned to lock those end stitches. Bravo, I finally got it!
Thank you for the very basic instruction to use my new machine. I'm ready to begin now. Your video helped me get past the instruction manual with the confidence that I now know what to do. Much appreciated.
WOW, WOW, WOW! I don't know how on earth you figured all of that out at the end of the stitching. I have two machines like that, and I never knew that. Even the lady that sold me the machine didn't know it. THANK YOU! I'm going to watch it again to see what you did with that lower looper thread.
Linda at Janome of Canada demonstrated this useful method of locking the ending stitches back in 2009 on the 1000 CP. When these machines were first introduced to the home sewing market, they came with a CD of techniques and demos on how to use all the optional accessories. I believe the content on that CD is now available on RUclips - definitely worth watching!
This video goes over the steps to use the Jenome 1000 CPX coverstitch machine. She did an amazing job of sharing tips on starting and stopping stitching, which seems to be a sticking point for reviewers on some machines on Amazon. I feel confident that following her directions would help many sewers avoid frustration with a coverstitch machine. Thanks again for producing such a useful video.
Loved your video very clear and precise. Just bought the Janome 2000 cpx coverstitch and had a little go. Lovely machine which I can see me using all the time.
Oh THANK YOU! I have been asking around in the sewing world about how the heck you don't end up with selvage to trim, when using a coverstitch machine. You provided that answer and sew sew much more :) Subscribed!
I love our videos..You are a good sewing Educator. I recently purchased your SFD Dress Kit and even tho I am not a experienced seamtress I am looking forward to learning to improve my sewing skillk from it and your videos
Thank you so much for posting this video. I just bought the Janome 900 CPX and I was a little confused about threading the bottom looper and locking the stitches. You made it 100% clear.
Hi Glenda, Just used my Coverstitch Pro for the first time and with your excellent direction, everything went wonderful. Very pleased with the results. Thank you.
Excellent demonstration with lots of great tips. I'm familiar with sergers, sewing machine and do own a Brother Coverstitch machine that I use rarely. Now, I'm inspired to do some cover stitching, especially trying out some decorative stitches, even though the would be limited on the Brother. Thanks, again.
This video is fantastic! I, too, felt better about having a separate cover stitch machine from my serger. I recently bought the Janome but did NOT love it until your video. Now that I know a better and more efficient way to end the stitches, I am using it constantly! I still need to tweak things here and there, like hand rolling the wheel to go through 4 thicker layers. But all in all, what a great addition to my sewing room.
Thank you so much for this video. I just purchased my cover stitch machine and my seams were all coming apart because I did not know how to lock them and couldn't find out how anywhere. I was considering taking it back because I was so frustrated. You are a great instructor.
You are most welcome...and thanks so much for your lovely comments. It took me a while to get used to the locking process but now it comes more naturally. Like anything, the more you know and do something the easier it becomes.
Thank you so much! I am getting my Janome today and have been watching your video. It is so helpful and informative. Now I’m off to check out the Sure Fit website and see what else I can learn before my new machine gets here. :)
Jo Mercer - my coverstitch machine has a removable bed around the throat plate and I can put cuffs around if they have a big enough circumference opening.
Very informative! I was looking at a Brother cover stitch; however, u made some good points about the Janome having more surface to work with. Might have to reconsider my future purchase. Thanks so much. New subbie.

Thank you so much for taking the time to show how to thread the machine - I haven't order this machine as of yet -- I do have a serger I haven't used yet - can't see to thread it -- with my eye sight - the 1000 cpx might be a good fit for me
Nice informative video. How to use the provided threader on janome cover pro 900 cpx. I’ve seen one demo but not clear her hand covers of putting threader on the needle
I've had this machine for a couple of years and use it regularly but still learned a couple of new things from your video. Thanks so much for posting! One thing, where did you get the little hook? Is it really a dental hook? I need one.
I liked you tutorial very much. It was very helpful for mr. Thanks. I would like to learn a little more about the tension of the threads. Gioconde from Costa Rica
All instructional videos should be modelled after this one! Clear, efficient, and highly informative.
@thaisoneon - thanks so much for your positive comments about our CoverStitch video...mush appreciated.

Jo Mercer - my coverstitch machine has a removable bed around the throat plate and I can put cuffs around if they have a big enough circumference opening.
Jo Mercer - Yes, my machine has the removable bed too. It really helps if the circumference is big enough to sit around the bed of the machine.
Thank you so much for this video,
This is a really good video
Very informative! I was looking at a Brother cover stitch; however, u made some good points about the Janome having more surface to work with. Might have to reconsider my future purchase. Thanks so much. New subbie.
Yes, do diligent research before purchasing your CoverStitch machine...I love mine...but some of them will definitely provide different features.
Omg I learned so much in this video!
well explained... thank you ☺
This is really great help for start👏
Thanks
Thank you for this great tutorial. Your explanations are great and detailed, you made it easy to learn and showing little tricks or techniques that are so helpful. I do love that painters tape! Like that little "dental type tool to pull the threads. I have been thinking of buying a coverstitch machine, after watching this video, I feel that it would be nice to have one. I would use it a lot, because a serger can't give me that nice finish and using the twin needles on sewing machine is OK, but just not as nice.
Thank you so much for taking the time to show how to thread the machine -
I haven't order this machine as of yet -- I do have a serger I haven't used yet - can't see to thread it -- with my eye sight - the 1000 cpx might be a good fit for me
Nice informative video.
Gioconde from Costa Rica
thanks for that! i just bought this machine so this was very helpful
Excelente demostracion.
