I swear the music in the commercials is unlocking so many memories of playing my scene games on the website and watching the webisodes. Also remember kind of wanting the masquerade dolls, especially barbie’s look.
I was born in 2005 so I was too young for My Scene at the time, but I remember my cousing gave me some of her My Scene when she got rid of her dolls. I think I thought they were Barbies too haha. I also used to play the games on the website. I grew up more with Barbie and Monster High, but My Scene still has a place in my heart ♡

The first editions look amazing, even their webisodes seem to be more for a young adult audience than teens. Plus MGA did it with Bratzillaz and Dream Ella, so I think My Scene doesn't deserve the whole title either. It is something very common in doll companies that they copy each other. And no, I'm not in any company, I love Bratz and My Scene equally, they marked something important in my childhood and I really have no complaints despite the shit their companies do.

It is direct competition, it is not a copy, a copy is even more shameless. Seeing now the My Scene from 2002 to 2005 they had that New York urban style that makes it look very different, even (leaving the movies) I think took things more mature than Bratz and Barbie. Bratz was more variable in terms of fashion, hence "The girls with a passion for fashion" while My Scene focused on the pure urban style of the city. In addition, the faces do differ from the Bratz, it is not something complex. I say that they were inspired to compete because even in the lines and clothes they are not so equal or shameless in terms of copying.

I think I read somewhere that the name changed to Westley for the European market. She just has a different name in Europe. They didn’t suddenly change it at some point, Mattel marketed her this way from the beginning. Which was a weird choice but… and I think it was so that all the girls' names would be more unified with the -ee sound at the end?
