I'm a Black 5 fanatic, (from my long ago childhood in Liverpool) 212 is my absolute favourite, but the Riley Twins come very close! Thanks for the great video - I enjoyed the taking on water, not often you get to see that close up.
Happy memories of many visits to Hellifield to witness similar movemants, and also to join steam specials there to go over the S&C to Carlisle. No longer possible as we moved to the West Midlands. Nice video, well executed and edited - well done indeed.
I've only been to Hellifield once back in the mid 90s. Saw Flying Scotsman and one of the Merchant Navy's on opposite railtours. Great day out. I like your style of presentation as well as the content. Brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍
Back in May 2012 44871 headed a Settle to Carlisle West Coast Special which my wife treated us to for my 65th birthday. Caught the train at Lancaster, enjoyed breakfast before Settle then dinner out of Carlisle on return journey. Fabulous day with the added bonus of Vintage Buses at Appleby. Between Preston and Lancaster a ticket guide sat with us and told us sadly her top speed was limited but she used to reach 90mpg along this stretch of irons which for years was her stamping ground! Happy days 😊
I tend to agree, even though I live in the USA; the bell does get a bit tiresome, although I do like US locomotive whistles a lot more than the British ones. . .
@@BritishRailJack crazy they still have stock in..someone must own them. I assume it was a storage place for tours or a steam center onetime. It would be a good site for one and combine it with watering and coaling.
The Black 5 is looking very nice, odd to see that the rear of the tender was lined out, but if it's your locomotive you can have done it anyway you like. Thanks very much for video the posting
Great professional production. The famous Black Five has many fans including myself. I always like to see a 47 in action as well.
Black 5s the most beautiful locos ever, and great footage of a busy day, thanks.

great video, and aren't black fives very versatile. keep up the great videos.
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice sequences. If this was in the USA there would be the additional clanking bell throughout the coverage.
We thank god for small mercies it is in the UK then....

What are the two sheds on the left in a few shots. Some have coaches in and wagons? Also track going to them
I believe they are disused engine sheds and you are able to walk to them, which I did to get the shots of the engine filling up with water!

*Trainboy approved*
Wow you defo didn't watch the whole thing unless u are watching jt now pal 😅
Great video - but I didn't see anything extraordinary!
Oh the extraordinary stuff was the insane amount of movements and action around hellifield in my eyes at least 😀👍
@@BritishRailJack OK. Great sounds from the loco, and I love the Black Five exhaust beat - you can't surpass a Stanier loco.
