I’m 100% Korean and I was raised by traditional Korean parents. This video described my parents. Their racism towards other ethnicities, especially south East Asians, was extremely upsetting. However, I did not buy into their hate. Some of my best friends were Filipino and I find Filipino women more attractive than Korean women.

There are a lot of racists in the west too but did we boycott western music and films? No. Same thing with SK artists and kdramas. As long as the artists I follow are respectful and not xenophobic, I will support them regardless of nationality.

There’s racism in every country, not just Korea. I’ve lived in the US for almost 20 years and there are a lot of racist people there. Even in the Philippines, they’re very racist towards black people and Indians.
It's very sad to hear this. Philippine people are lovely people, and all Asian countries should respect their neighbours regardless of stature. I am from the UK and have lived in Thailand for 15 years, and they are also very cultural and respectful people. I also taught English here for 10 years alongside Philippine and Thai teachers, and we we all got along fine.
Every country has racism. We are always skeptical when it comes to someone different from us. However, the problem with the racism in Korea is not because we are different from them, but because they think that we are inferior. Pride and prejudice mixed together. It's a different kind of racism in Japan, where they have prejudice against foreigners because foreigners don't respect them. They won't outwardly shun you, unless you show disrespect. In Korea, classism is high. Regardless if you are a nice person, your class determines your placement in social pyramid.

Japanese have mostly reformed but have had experiences where they espouse that same superiority attitude and try to put you down, all the same, too. Let’s not forget that the same can be said of Japan’s treatment of anyone not seen as “Japanese”. Including Ainu, Ryukyuan, Burakumin/Hinin/mura-no-mono. Then you add classism, topics of skin color where lightness is seen as socially elevated or civilized. China has their own xenophobia and anti-American attitudes but that is more related to CCP propaganda including Han Chauvinism. Every culture has an historical form of a caste system or scapegoating. The question is, are you a culture/ethnicity/nation willing to acknowledge it and put an end to it?
Filipinos are also racist towards darker looking people. Filipinos that come to Singapore discriminate against Singaporeans of Indian descent. Mind you, the Filipino (foreigner) is discriminating against the Singaporean Indian (local). So, I am not sympathetic when Filipinos talk about being discriminated against by South Koreans in South Korea.
I haven't seen racism from Filipinos firsthand, although I must admit that not every Filipino is friendly and accommodating to foreign races. Even then, sometimes there might be a misunderstanding between racism and curiosity. Filipinos tend to pay a lot of attention and interest to people from foreign countries, (I'm not sure if it's because we rarely see them but they would likely stick out from the crowd) I'm not sure to what extent the racism darker people or Indians receive from Filipinos. But I believe that you may actually have a point, the perspective of Filipinos may also be influenced by social media. Facebook or other apps usually portray India as an unhygienic country among other mean descriptions. I don't agree with those opinions as I don't think we have the right to judge other countries based on several videos that merely focus on negative aspects of a country.
I live in Hawaii where there's a large Filipino population and their only nice to other Filipinos or white people. They treat black people like crap or total sweethearts
as a western with filipino friends, I never felt any serious racism from them. most of the time, they do it in a playful manner just for laughs, unlike that one who threw cabbage.
Filipinos was colonized with American, they thought us that dark skin is dirty, that is why some filipinos still have mentally towards dark skin color, but now a days it's not bad as before generically we accept different people with respect.

Ive always wondered why kids i tutored would tease me as American. I have a very slight hint of chinese and caucasian in me. Maybe less than 1%. I think it was like a compliment for them and they were trying to get into my good graces. It was sweet if you try to put yourself into their shoes. They were kids. But sometimes, i feel sad at how they praise more for looks than other things. Every one has flaws though. Ive noticed that fellow pinoys are some of the most tenacious grammar, pronunciation and accent nazis. STAHP!!! Accents show you are bilingual. Nothing to be ashamed about.

One thing that affects their attitude is because they don't have religion. Most of them are atheist. Secondly, they adapt their behaviour from their parents. Third, because of self insecurities. Fourth, they lack values and social concerns. However, things change once they live here in the Philippines. I used to meet and teach students with bad records in their schools in SK but they have high respect to teachers here in the Philippines. In the process, they were able to open up and tell their stories and even say they don't want to go back to Korea. I'm saying this based on my experience.

I’m 100% Korean and I was raised by traditional Korean parents. This video described my parents. Their racism towards other ethnicities, especially south East Asians, was extremely upsetting.
However, I did not buy into their hate. Some of my best friends were Filipino and I find Filipino women more attractive than Korean women.

There’s racism in every country, not just Korea. I’ve lived in the US for almost 20 years and there are a lot of racist people there. Even in the Philippines, they’re very racist towards black people and Indians.
It's very sad to hear this. Philippine people are lovely people, and all Asian countries should respect their neighbours regardless of stature. I am from the UK and have lived in Thailand for 15 years, and they are also very cultural and respectful people. I also taught English here for 10 years alongside Philippine and Thai teachers, and we we all got along fine.
Every country has racism. We are always skeptical when it comes to someone different from us. However, the problem with the racism in Korea is not because we are different from them, but because they think that we are inferior. Pride and prejudice mixed together. It's a different kind of racism in Japan, where they have prejudice against foreigners because foreigners don't respect them. They won't outwardly shun you, unless you show disrespect. In Korea, classism is high. Regardless if you are a nice person, your class determines your placement in social pyramid.

We are also smaller and have less healthy skin, we also tend to have flatter noses. However, when we are talking about Filipino beauty in general, I'd agree that it's heaps better than Koreans. We have been colonized by many countries; Americans, Europeans, fellow Asians so our gene pool is very diverse contributing to wide ranging looks. I haven't seen racism from Filipinos firsthand, although I must admit that not every Filipino is friendly and accommodating to foreign races. Even then, sometimes there might be a misunderstanding between racism and curiosity. Filipinos tend to pay a lot of attention and interest to people from foreign countries, (I'm not sure if it's because we rarely see them but they would likely stick out from the crowd)
I'm not sure to what extent the racism darker people or Indians receive from Filipinos. But I believe that you may actually have a point, the perspective of Filipinos may also be influenced by social media. Facebook or other apps usually portray India as an unhygienic country among other mean descriptions. I don't agree with those opinions as I don't think we have the right to judge other countries based on several videos that merely focus on negative aspects of a country.
I live in Hawaii where there's a large Filipino population and their only nice to other Filipinos or white people. They treat black people like crap or total sweethearts

Ive always wondered why kids i tutored would tease me as American. I have a very slight hint of chinese and caucasian in me. Maybe less than 1%. I think it was like a compliment for them and they were trying to get into my good graces. It was sweet if you try to put yourself into their shoes. They were kids. But sometimes, i feel sad at how they praise more for looks than other things. Every one has flaws though. Ive noticed that fellow pinoys are some of the most tenacious grammar, pronunciation and accent nazis. STAHP!!! Accents show you are bilingual. Nothing to be ashamed about.

One thing that affects their attitude is because they don't have religion. Most of them are atheist. Secondly, they adapt their behaviour from their parents. Third, because of self insecurities. Fourth, they lack values and social concerns. However, things change once they live here in the Philippines. I used to meet and teach students with bad records in their schools in SK but they have high respect to teachers here in the Philippines. In the process, they were able to open up and tell their stories and even say they don't want to go back to Korea. I'm saying this based on my experience.

I been knowing this since the 80s when I first met Koreans. I’m Lao and had a korean classmates. His parents didn’t let us inside the house because she said we were “dirty” even tho we weren’t. We would always had to wait outside till he came out.
Korean women are beautiful. But, Filipinas are enchanting, gorgeous goddesses whose beauty is reserved only for the eyes of the gods. I mean no disrespect, when me a mere moral dares to glimpse their elegance, grace & natural beauty.
