- OK, so I fly drones, hence my name. I've slowly ventured into RC Cars since I can drive them when the weather is bad or drone batteries are charging. I always wanted to try RC Boats so I purchased the BEST of the inexpensive ones. You can find this boat at one of the links below:

Wow, that sounds like a gas motor! Cool. 👍 I don't understand why these boats can't have a low battery warning. Even the cheapest drone does! 😠
There are battery warning things that attach to the lipo battery. You have to buy them separately.
The difference when you swapped to the lipo was impressive.
Don't forget your life jacket when you're out and sailing. \;-)
My wife and I bought the stealthwake and the color makes it an easy target for our drones to film! Now we have the Stealthwake, Shockwave, Traxxas Spartan and the Traxxas M41!!
I'm just starting in the RC boat world. If only I had a cottage by the lake to hang out and enjoy some RC boating.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Luckily we have a small lake nearby that we can run them on and we take them with us in the RV when we go camping. They draw a small crowd when we have them with us which is great!

I'd be scared I'd run out of juice in the middle of the body of water. Is there a warning indicator when the battery is low?
It will just reduce speed as the battery gets low which is the sign to bring it on in. Most times the current/wind will push a boat back to shore if it gets dead in the water.

Does it have variable throttle? Or is it only all the way on or off? I wanna slow cruise in some huge puddles. Live in desert so no lakes or river near me but plenty of monsoon pseudo lakes in lowlying areas.

Hi Robert. It will not self right. Then again, it is hard to get it to flip over. You'd have to be going full speed and then turn and hit a wave.
This is a great boat. I might get this. I'm having too much fun with my Recoil 26. This boat should be a nice addition.

I'm like iPHONDO. He started only reviewing iPhones and now is into all tech. Once you start with a name, you're kinda stuck with it. The channel will always focus mostly on drones. Most drone pilots all have a second or 3rd or 4th RC hobby.

watch that reverse! lid design allows lots or water to come into the hull when reversing! I put a piece of rubber tubing on mine! seems to help!

The one I have is the scottfree offshore racing boat by hobbyking and it has a problem, Im waiting to get it fixed. The speed control is messed up. But it goes 35 mph when working right. That one probly works perfect!
I've come to realize there are lots of RC Boats out there. And they all seem to be great fun to use.... when they work.

Certainly. The "C" rating is for the ESC and current draw.
Hello Captain,nice video ,I have 2 request please ,I see that you have HRB lipo haw they perform in time end second the little camera it's waterproof,I want to use on my boat.
I only have one HRB battery and I use it in many different RC items. It works really well. The little camera (mobius Mini) is not waterproof.

Just do a search on AMAZON for a 2S lipo battery at 4000 or 5000 mAh with an EC3 connector.

Usually RC boats are 100 meters in range.

It all depends how fast you drive. If it is full power all the time than maybe 10 minutes or more. If you drive slow, med, fast then it could be 20 mins or more.

that thing needs a brushless outruner cap 2200mh is fine lipo

..you dont have to bend the trim tabs. The screw holes are big so you can adjust it up and down.
Can run a 100c 5200 mah 3s lipo
If you can make it fit, yes (not sure how long the motor will last if it gets hot)

If you've never owned an RC Boat before and you put in a 2S LIPO battery, it is fast.

I too am a fairly new boat owner what tips tricks have you learned? What can you say about your experience thanks
Only tip I have is stay away from grass and weeds along the shoreline and if you want to avoid an object you need to steer and the boat will only steer if the prop is turning (so don't let off the throttle to steer).
Have you tried RC aircraft (Not drones...), those home build "sticks" or popular scale models like the Piper Cherokee and the like? I remember those old quality controllers in HF and VHF.
I'd love to fly RC Planes, but I have no room to keep them in my house. Drones, Cars & now Boats take up the space.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Wonderful years back in 1983 when I flew those! No drones then! Had to register as a pilot with SAMAA that also did insurance... back then. Just try it one day!

Definitely different and cool. How do you know what battery percentage you have left? Will it RTH if it gets to a certain low level? How many times did you flip it or get it stuck in weeds and or on the bank? ;-)
When the battery is low, you better hope you're close to shore (you learn how long it will last after many adventures). No GPS, so no return to home. It does right itself, but if you turn super sharp at high speed, it will flip and if it flips it could land upside down. As soon as the prop is out of the water, you then have to wait for the current or wind to bring it to shore.... so I try and avoid doing that.

If you stay in a small pond probably not a big deal, but if you get on a large lake and go way out, you could lose your investment. Thanks for bringing this to me and educating me. I think I'll stick with quads and watch your boat video's. ;-)

@@stephenksiazek812 I may be wrong since I'm so new at this. One of my fellow RC drone pilots said that some inexpensive RC Boats do indeed have a low battery warning (your controller will beep)

It is like all RC Boats... They don't like waves or wakes (bounces them around)
