As soon as they even mentioned scissors, I knew this was going to be a fucked up story.. Whoever makes the lyrics to these kind of songs, sure loves scissors.
OOC: In real life, I'm a Luka cosplayer, and I was getting ready for a party and saw a pair of sparkly, pink scissors in the store and started laughing. My mother thinks I'm insane now.
The line "Now a family of four has been killed" makes me think that the man in the song doesn't actually know the tailor (Luka). The tailor calls the man (presumably Kaito. The background (4:03) shows he's coloured blue and the silhouette appears to be Kaito.) "her lovely person". That doesn't necessarily mean they're married/dating. She could just be infatuated with him and the infatuation leads her to believing they're lovers. That would explain why the man gets depressed whenever there's a killing. The women that are killed (presumably Meiko, Miku and Rin if you follow the colours) are his wife and daughters (ages work out, I guess. Meiko is an adult (her and Kaito don't have official ages, other than being adults), Miku is 16~ and Rin is 14~) First, the man is seen with a woman in a red kimono (Red kimono are a traditional color of bridal dresses, and are sometimes represented in the media as a symbolic color for married women) which is his wife. After she is murdered (likely by the tailor who wanted to get rid of her so the man is interested in her, which explains why the tailor dons a red kimono later), the man is now seen with another woman, his eldest daughter, the woman wearing a green obi. After the death of his wife, the man is with his eldest daughter trying to make her feel better about the passing (No matter how stingy the man, I'm sure he would wait a bit longer than a few hours after his lover's death to find another woman, so Miku can be ruled out for being the man's new lover). His daughter is wearing a green obi, because green is a peaceful and emotionally positive colour, which she would wear to help make her feel better. The tailor sees him again, gets angry about him being with another woman (confusing her for a new lover, although it's his daughter), and kills her next. (And dons a green obi). After the death of his wife and eldest daughter, the man is now with his youngest daughter (the tailor remarks that she's an adolescence), the only family member he has left. To try and keep her happy, he buys her a yellow hair pin (Yellow, happiness). The tailor sees him with another woman (girl..?), and becomes infuriated that he's not interested in her (once again, she's confusing his daughter for a new lover) so she kills her and dons a yellow hairpiece. The next day, the man just happens to be in the tailor shop. He greats the tailor as he would a stranger (because she is), which infuriates her. Later, she dons the kimono, obi and hairpin she made and confronts the man, and asks if she's beautiful. When he realises that she killed his family (she's wearing similar clothes as they did the last time they were alive), the man refuses her, and the tailor kills him (either in a rage or so nobody else could have him), thus a family of four being killed.
I found that out reading this and now I am dumbfounded, cause... MOST CREEPY VOCALOID SONGS HAVE A DIFFERENT TONE! LUKA'S VOICE SOUNDED JUST FINE IN THIS WAS SO I ENDED UP THINKING THIS WAS A SAFIE SONG!
I do agree with most of the obvious points in your statements. Luka did in fact not know kaito, but she was infatuated.. She was so lonely after her mother died that she imaged that her and Kaito were married. But the thing is, those scissors that she has which belonged to her mother holds the sin of envy. She was not concious of the killing since she was possesed by the sin. This is why in the song she questions about why her scissors changed color. I do agree with the color interpretation very much that you gave but I also want to add onto it. Meiko's red Kimono signifies passion. This could show that thier relationship is strong. Coupling this is Kaito's blue color, which symbolized loyalty and trust. This means he could be very loyal to both his wife and children. Miku's color is green, which is balance and growth. She is consoling him so that he can become stronger for thier family. Last but not least, Rin. Rin-chan is innocent, cheerful and also impatient, as a child would be. Rin is the only person at this point that is in his life, so he tries to go on for her. But after all thier deaths, Luka tries to recreate these qualities in her kimono, which Kaito didn't know about her killing them until he was at the brink of death himself.
She said an entire FAMILY of four. she wasnt in a relation ship with the man, she just had a crush, and was living in some fantasy as if they were married. She killed the mans sister/ daughter, other daughter, and wife, then him. dayum.
Sally Mei First is the wife, Meiko. Then the daughters, Miku and Rin (in order). Then, the man, Kaito. You can interpret it from looking at the English lyrcs and watching the full video. The lyrics hint that though Luka acts naive about it, she is the one who has killed them. Also in the video, it shows silhouettes of the other characters and their associated clothing item.
I mean.. It's more like a revenge, more than a typical yandere story. Kai almost burned down Kayo's (former?) Village and almost killed her husband, who soon lost his memories. (See "The Weathered head at Onigashima.) Pretty much in this song, Kayo is just insane. She thought that Kai was her husband and that he was cheating on her, while in reality, they doesn't even know her. I don't know how to explain anymore, so search up "Seven Deadly Sins: Tailor Shop on Enbizaka" and read it at the Evillious wiki. Oh well, at least Kayo achieved her goal, at least, huh?
To make this story more sad: the tailor in this song had a husband who looked like the man. He died, and she went insane and mistook the man in the song for him. Really, she was a widow who was mourning and felt betrayed...

Well, actually, the *true* reason she committed the murders, unlike as implied in the song, was because the Tailor was envious that the man in blue, her supposed husband, had a family instead of her. Apparently, the blue guy was a racist against foreigners and started a fire in the town to get rid of the foreigners that indirectly destroyed her family and she went crazy. So, she systematically murdered his family one by one to make up for her own family dying because of him. And when she was caught, she plead insanity with the reason of thinking the blue guy was her husband, leading everyone to think *that* was the true reason for the murders. By the way, it didn’t work and the Tailor was executed.
Hatsune Miku Miku you shouldn't be jealous with your sister... LOL JK. Aside from that, I want you to know that Luka is created to be more lifelike...... Granted you can hearing one or two or more words that still a little robotic than you think it is, but we can't deny her charm for being so realistic in this song....... Miku is so hard to be used if you want her to be more alive like, and it was because of her nature voice who were pitch high from a normal human voices, while Luka wasn't...... She was made for that and she can do it because that's the purpose of her creation.
+Hatsune Miku Same here I could hear quite a few bits that made her sound like a vocaloid, but she did have a more high quality voice than I've seen in most vocaloid videos. Most times they're more synthesized imo.

For people who think Luka (Whose name in this story is Kayo Sudou) has a mental illness in this story it's not true. Kayo Sudou originally didn't look like this. Rather she was of a different race, having Black Hair and Purple eyes. She had a husband, a mother and a daughter. Sadly however her husband, daughter, and mother were killed in a fire and she fell into a depression. Soon enough she met a missionary who was Elluka "Ma" Clockworker. I say "Ma" because this wasn't the Elluka that promised to collect the seven sins but rather one with a different agenda. Kayo admired Ma's beauty and Ma offered to swap bodies and they did. Having inherited her mother's scissors and desiring to start a new life she moved to Enbizaka Street to be a Tailor. There she became a well known tailor. After a while a man and his family move into the town. The man looks insanely identical to Kayo's dead husband. This is where the scissors come in. What Kayo didn't know was that the scissors were the vessel for the Demon of Envy. When she became jealous of the man the Demon possessed her which led her to commit the Enbizaka Murders. Afterwards she was caught, tried, and found guilty. Her punishment was beheading on the top of the Enbizaka Street Hill.
okay I think alot of people are getting sidetracked about the story here. This is the sin of Envy it is stated in every wiki and mothy himself made the song for the seven deadly sins series Basically,Luka is a tailor who makes beautiful kimonos and she is in love with with the man (kaito) However when she sees him with all these women and all the items they wear she somehow deludes herself into thinking that if she wears these items he'll fall in love with her. now,take in mind it's obvious by the songs context that meiko is his wife miku and rin are his daughters. just by common sense because at the end it says a family of FOUR were killed meaning he wasn't her lover at all,she was a overly jealous stalker of some kind who wanted him and deluded herself into somehow thinking he was her's and that he was cheating. which wasn't the case.That was his family! and even more so,it says there that he greeted her as if she was a stranger. That's because to him she WAS a stranger. The lesson of this song is how mad envy can drive you. Same with the other songs,at the end all of their sins drove them mad in some case example:Evil food eater conchita-Meiko ended up eating herself because of her sin of gluttony. FUN FACTS :D The whole debate about whether Kayo Sudou (the character Luka plays in this song) knows Kai Miroku (the man who she thought was her husband) or not is settled in the actual novel, and you can't tell whether she does or not in the song. In all actuality, her husband, mother, and child died in a house fire and Kayo saw Kai, thinking he was her husband. She became possessed by the Demon of Envy and... the events of this song took place. Kayo is not actually Kayo... she swapped bodies with Elluka "Ma" Clockworker - the person who made Gallerian (the character played by Kaito in Judgement of Corruption) make corrupt judgments and collect the fragments of sin. Kayo is inspired by the Kuchisake-onna, a woman in an uban legend who was mutilated by a jealous husband and returned as an evil spirit. The ghost of the mutilated woman always asks her victims, "Am I beautiful?" before killing them with a pair of scissors.
Even sadder, her husband actually survived the fire, which ironically was set by Kai Miroku in the first place. Just he had amnesia and only remembered her after she was executed.
I heard there's also something about the body that MA traded with Kayo is actually the body of Lukana Octo from way back in the lust story which grant her the purple dream which is how she found out the truth
My favorite part of this song is that it has several layers: ULTRA Surface Layer: she sees her husband cheating so she makes clothes similar to the ones the women her husband cheats on her have :) Surface Layer: she’s jealous of her husband cheating so she kills the women who he cheats on her with and later him Basic Layer: she’s mistaking a normal man and his family for her husband and his lovers because she’s a yandere Deep Layer: the man was a terrorist who was the one who killed her actual son and caused her actual husband to go missing so she’s enacting revenge while pretending to be a yandere to prevent a war happening between her hometown and the terrorists

For the family of four. I think the kimono girl (MEIKO) is the wife of Luka's lover, the green sash (Hatsune Miku) the elder daughter, and the yellow hairpin (Kagamine Rin) the younger daughter.
Sudou Kayo(Luka) is actually possessed by Sorceress of Time, Elluka Clockworker(Luka) in order to obtain the Envy vessel, but Kayo's emotions somehow overpowers her and she lost control of the body. After obtained the "Kayo's Scissor" Elluka somehow unable to leave Kayo or continuing possess her for her own use. Then used the body and alias, Ma. She then become partners with Gallerian Marlon(Kaito from Judgement of Corruption) and collects the other vessels. After Gallerian die, she inherited the theater which he build to hide/seal the vessels. She didn't directly manage the theater but let the "Judicial-Doll" to govern while she become the Gardener. Gammon Octo come to the theater, pass the Master of Graveyard, but caught by Master of Court. Then Waiter said she wants someone to do chores and he become the "Cursed Gardener" who succeeded Ma. Together with Gammon, Ma write the screenplay revolving the history and icons of Evillious Series. Gammon used his ability, 'Purple Dream' which can see the past and future by dreams/vision. His dream of the past is 100% precise, and confirmed by Ma herself but his dream of future are 50/50, perhaps because the future is always changing depends on today's choice.

A pair of Western and Eastern Scissors that were strung together. Additionally, the weapon that executed Kayo was Grim the End; the Vessel of Wrath. The vessel was mostly made into bladed weapons

I searched up the song this is the meaning The song concerns Kayo Sudou (Luka Megurine), a tailor in the fictional city of Enbizaka (enbi = envy), who is known for her skill. The only thing she thinks about most of the time is the fact her "lover" is unfaithful and does not come "home". She sees him walking with a woman in a red kimono and murders her with her tailor scissors and takes the kimono, acting as if nothing had happened and that she is concerned about the rising murder rate. She later sees him with a girl in a green sash and does the same to the girl, taking the sash - the same happens with a girl with a yellow hairpin. The tailor dresses herself the personal items of the murdered women, in an attempt to become the ideal woman for his lover. But as it turns out, the man does not even know her; the three females were his wife and daughters, and so when he meets the tailor, he does not recognize her. According to my logic, Luka is a beautiful tailor with perfect personality. According to her imagination, she is in love with only one man but he never comes home. One day, she sees him with his wife. She killed her and took her red kimono. Then the whole village knew about it and Kaito seemed uneasy about his wife's death so his eldest daughter confront him. Jealous Luka then kills the eldest daughter and took her sash. Then she saw him with a little girl. It was his youngest dauhter. Seeing him buying a yellow hairpin for her just made Luka go nuts so she killed her too and took the hairpins. Then she became Kaito's "type of girl". She went to Kaito's house to make him love her but he just stood there and talked to her like she was a stranger (which she is). Depressed, she killed him. The end.

It's completely fine to see it as a yandere story It's part of a series called Evillious where it's best to think of it is like a giant stage play where 10 or so the actor(in this case, Vocaloid) playing multiple characters depending on which part of the story you're in The full story of the song is that Kayo (The character Luka is playing the song) lost her family in a fire a few years ago by Kai (The one played by Kaito) and got depressed. A witch showed up and convinced Kayo to swap body with her cause Kayo's mother is actually the demon of envy (it's complicated lol) and the witch said switching body might make the envy go away. She agreed and the witch cast a spell so that everyone else would think she was always like this. However, with the new body she gained the ability to have prophetic dream and basically saw the event of this song in it and learned the man she would murder is the man who started the fire that killed her family and so she was envy not because she think he's her husband and cheating on her but he killed her family and get to keep his so she go on with the murder just like in the song, using crazy obsessive yandere to mask her true intention. There's also a part with a boy who looked like her son who is actually another important character reincarnated and got tricked by the demon of envy to think Kayo was his mother but it's not relevant to the song so you don't have to worry about it

The line "Now a family of four has been killed" makes me think that the man in the song doesn't actually know the tailor (Luka).
The tailor calls the man (presumably Kaito. The background (4:03) shows he's coloured blue and the silhouette appears to be Kaito.) "her lovely person". That doesn't necessarily mean they're married/dating. She could just be infatuated with him and the infatuation leads her to believing they're lovers.
That would explain why the man gets depressed whenever there's a killing. The women that are killed (presumably Meiko, Miku and Rin if you follow the colours) are his wife and daughters (ages work out, I guess. Meiko is an adult (her and Kaito don't have official ages, other than being adults), Miku is 16~ and Rin is 14~)
First, the man is seen with a woman in a red kimono (Red kimono are a traditional color of bridal dresses, and are sometimes represented in the media as a symbolic color for married women) which is his wife. After she is murdered (likely by the tailor who wanted to get rid of her so the man is interested in her, which explains why the tailor dons a red kimono later), the man is now seen with another woman, his eldest daughter, the woman wearing a green obi.
After the death of his wife, the man is with his eldest daughter trying to make her feel better about the passing (No matter how stingy the man, I'm sure he would wait a bit longer than a few hours after his lover's death to find another woman, so Miku can be ruled out for being the man's new lover). His daughter is wearing a green obi, because green is a peaceful and emotionally positive colour, which she would wear to help make her feel better. The tailor sees him again, gets angry about him being with another woman (confusing her for a new lover, although it's his daughter), and kills her next. (And dons a green obi).
After the death of his wife and eldest daughter, the man is now with his youngest daughter (the tailor remarks that she's an adolescence), the only family member he has left. To try and keep her happy, he buys her a yellow hair pin (Yellow, happiness). The tailor sees him with another woman (girl..?), and becomes infuriated that he's not interested in her (once again, she's confusing his daughter for a new lover) so she kills her and dons a yellow hairpiece.
The next day, the man just happens to be in the tailor shop. He greats the tailor as he would a stranger (because she is), which infuriates her. Later, she dons the kimono, obi and hairpin she made and confronts the man, and asks if she's beautiful. When he realises that she killed his family (she's wearing similar clothes as they did the last time they were alive), the man refuses her, and the tailor kills him (either in a rage or so nobody else could have him), thus a family of four being killed.

I do agree with most of the obvious points in your statements. Luka did in fact not know kaito, but she was infatuated.. She was so lonely after her mother died that she imaged that her and Kaito were married. But the thing is, those scissors that she has which belonged to her mother holds the sin of envy. She was not concious of the killing since she was possesed by the sin. This is why in the song she questions about why her scissors changed color. I do agree with the color interpretation very much that you gave but I also want to add onto it.
Meiko's red Kimono signifies passion. This could show that thier relationship is strong. Coupling this is Kaito's blue color, which symbolized loyalty and trust. This means he could be very loyal to both his wife and children. Miku's color is green, which is balance and growth. She is consoling him so that he can become stronger for thier family. Last but not least, Rin. Rin-chan is innocent, cheerful and also impatient, as a child would be. Rin is the only person at this point that is in his life, so he tries to go on for her. But after all thier deaths, Luka tries to recreate these qualities in her kimono, which Kaito didn't know about her killing them until he was at the brink of death himself.

The lyrics hint that though Luka acts naive about it, she is the one who has killed them. Also in the video, it shows silhouettes of the other characters and their associated clothing item.

Well, actually, the *true* reason she committed the murders, unlike as implied in the song, was because the Tailor was envious that the man in blue, her supposed husband, had a family instead of her. Apparently, the blue guy was a racist against foreigners and started a fire in the town to get rid of the foreigners that indirectly destroyed her family and she went crazy. So, she systematically murdered his family one by one to make up for her own family dying because of him. And when she was caught, she plead insanity with the reason of thinking the blue guy was her husband, leading everyone to think *that* was the true reason for the murders. By the way, it didn’t work and the Tailor was executed.

She was made for that and she can do it because that's the purpose of her creation.

For people who think Luka (Whose name in this story is Kayo Sudou) has a mental illness in this story it's not true.
Kayo Sudou originally didn't look like this. Rather she was of a different race, having Black Hair and Purple eyes. She had a husband, a mother and a daughter. Sadly however her husband, daughter, and mother were killed in a fire and she fell into a depression. Soon enough she met a missionary who was Elluka "Ma" Clockworker. I say "Ma" because this wasn't the Elluka that promised to collect the seven sins but rather one with a different agenda. Kayo admired Ma's beauty and Ma offered to swap bodies and they did. Having inherited her mother's scissors and desiring to start a new life she moved to Enbizaka Street to be a Tailor. There she became a well known tailor. After a while a man and his family move into the town. The man looks insanely identical to Kayo's dead husband. This is where the scissors come in. What Kayo didn't know was that the scissors were the vessel for the Demon of Envy. When she became jealous of the man the Demon possessed her which led her to commit the Enbizaka Murders. Afterwards she was caught, tried, and found guilty. Her punishment was beheading on the top of the Enbizaka Street Hill.

Basically,Luka is a tailor who makes beautiful kimonos and she is in love with with the man (kaito) However when she sees him with all these women and all the items they wear she somehow deludes herself into thinking that if she wears these items he'll fall in love with her.
now,take in mind it's obvious by the songs context that
meiko is his wife
miku and rin are his daughters. just by common sense
because at the end it says a family of FOUR were killed
meaning he wasn't her lover at all,she was a overly jealous stalker of some kind who wanted him and deluded herself into somehow thinking he was her's and that he was cheating.

The whole debate about whether Kayo Sudou (the character Luka plays in this song) knows Kai Miroku (the man who she thought was her husband) or not is settled in the actual novel, and you can't tell whether she does or not in the song. In all actuality, her husband, mother, and child died in a house fire and Kayo saw Kai, thinking he was her husband. She became possessed by the Demon of Envy and... the events of this song took place.
Kayo is not actually Kayo... she swapped bodies with Elluka "Ma" Clockworker - the person who made Gallerian (the character played by Kaito in Judgement of Corruption) make corrupt judgments and collect the fragments of sin.
Kayo is inspired by the Kuchisake-onna, a woman in an uban legend who was mutilated by a jealous husband and returned as an evil spirit. The ghost of the mutilated woman always asks her victims, "Am I beautiful?" before killing them with a pair of scissors.

Sudou Kayo(Luka) is actually possessed by Sorceress of Time, Elluka Clockworker(Luka) in order to obtain the Envy vessel, but Kayo's emotions somehow overpowers her and she lost control of the body. After obtained the "Kayo's Scissor" Elluka somehow unable to leave Kayo or continuing possess her for her own use. Then used the body and alias, Ma. She then become partners with Gallerian Marlon(Kaito from Judgement of Corruption) and collects the other vessels.
After Gallerian die, she inherited the theater which he build to hide/seal the vessels. She didn't directly manage the theater but let the "Judicial-Doll" to govern while she become the Gardener. Gammon Octo come to the theater, pass the Master of Graveyard, but caught by Master of Court. Then Waiter said she wants someone to do chores and he become the "Cursed Gardener" who succeeded Ma. Together with Gammon, Ma write the screenplay revolving the history and icons of Evillious Series. Gammon used his ability, 'Purple Dream' which can see the past and future by dreams/vision. His dream of the past is 100% precise, and confirmed by Ma herself but his dream of future are 50/50, perhaps because the future is always changing depends on today's choice.

Elluka swap body with Lukana using her 'Body Swap' ability, leaving her original body (blonde hair) & possessed Lukana (pink hair), then proceed (the same way) to possesed Kayo (black hair). In this song, Kayo's hair changed to pink, as it is the side effect of Elluka (in Lukana's body) possessing her. Also, I have read somewhere (forgot where), when Kayo's hair is pink, she actually overpowering Elluka's soul inside her. After committing the sin, Elluka gain full control over her & her hair turn black once again. Elluka continue in using Kayo's body and use initial, Ma.

The man who was responsible for the fire was the main with the blue hair, but to throw suspicion of her revenge, she pretended to be mad of jealousy in a delusion. She killed his entire family, then him, however, she was still a sin contractor, and couldn't be killed in her execution until, I believe, Dule Venomania's sword was used

Correction: Kayo was never a sin contractor. She was the daughter of the Demon of Envy. The demon who inhabited the scissors that Kayo once used. A pair of Western and Eastern Scissors that were strung together.
Additionally, the weapon that executed Kayo was Grim the End; the Vessel of Wrath. The vessel was mostly made into bladed weapons
I think Kai looked like Luka's missing lover, and she mistook him for her lover, so she went mad when she heard he had a family... Geez...she even walks in the streets with her scissors on her hands...

The song concerns Kayo Sudou (Luka Megurine), a tailor in the fictional city of Enbizaka (enbi = envy), who is known for her skill. The only thing she thinks about most of the time is the fact her "lover" is unfaithful and does not come "home". She sees him walking with a woman in a red kimono and murders her with her tailor scissors and takes the kimono, acting as if nothing had happened and that she is concerned about the rising murder rate. She later sees him with a girl in a green sash and does the same to the girl, taking the sash - the same happens with a girl with a yellow hairpin. The tailor dresses herself the personal items of the murdered women, in an attempt to become the ideal woman for his lover. But as it turns out, the man does not even know her; the three females were his wife and daughters, and so when he meets the tailor, he does not recognize her. Offended by this apparent lack of acknowledgment, the tailor murders him, too, and carries on with her work

According to my logic,
Luka is a beautiful tailor with perfect personality. According to her imagination, she is in love with only one man but he never comes home. One day, she sees him with his wife. She killed her and took her red kimono. Then the whole village knew about it and Kaito seemed uneasy about his wife's death so his eldest daughter confront him. Jealous Luka then kills the eldest daughter and took her sash. Then she saw him with a little girl. It was his youngest dauhter. Seeing him buying a yellow hairpin for her just made Luka go nuts so she killed her too and took the hairpins. Then she became Kaito's "type of girl". She went to Kaito's house to make him love her but he just stood there and talked to her like she was a stranger (which she is). Depressed, she killed him.

It's part of a series called Evillious where it's best to think of it is like a giant stage play where 10 or so the actor(in this case, Vocaloid) playing multiple characters depending on which part of the story you're in
The full story of the song is that Kayo (The character Luka is playing the song) lost her family in a fire a few years ago by Kai (The one played by Kaito) and got depressed. A witch showed up and convinced Kayo to swap body with her cause Kayo's mother is actually the demon of envy (it's complicated lol) and the witch said switching body might make the envy go away. She agreed and the witch cast a spell so that everyone else would think she was always like this. However, with the new body she gained the ability to have prophetic dream and basically saw the event of this song in it and learned the man she would murder is the man who started the fire that killed her family and so she was envy not because she think he's her husband and cheating on her but he killed her family and get to keep his so she go on with the murder just like in the song, using crazy obsessive yandere to mask her true intention.
There's also a part with a boy who looked like her son who is actually another important character reincarnated and got tricked by the demon of envy to think Kayo was his mother but it's not relevant to the song so you don't have to worry about it
