This is a really good solution, a game changer for many I am sure, as time filling seems to be the biggest downside with earth bag construction. Thanks for sharing.
I thought about it, there are groups out here that do this, but I don't know how I feel about having a bunch of people out here. I struggled with this one
@@OffGrit You know, after seeing an episode with one of the youtubers and their experience with some people in their neighborhood, i definitely would be on high caution as well. Don’t want everyone in your business that close. I completely understand. Just allow those to help that’s been in close contact with you for awhile, that you trust can’t “sabotage” you. I completely understand. It’s crazy out here in the wild wild west. You guys are being a trailblazer out there for sure. I’m learning a lot from your ingenuity. ❤
Love the way this process has developed for you from doing it primarily all by hand, little by little into more efficient and effective effort. Any idea how much your production timelines have changed? Like if you started out getting 10 bags an hour and now you get 30/hr? Sure looks like a huuuge increase
Yes it is approximately 3 times faster... Also the time I am spending is a LOT LESS physical which is hard to quantify so the quality of my time is better as well.
Excellent innovations! I see this video is a bit old. Did you make any other updates on the setup? Have you attached the fighter jet wings under the sifter so you dont have to move them? All in all, its genius work!
Thanks. I filled about 900 bags and then took a break for a while. The idea now is to use the bags for interior framing/walls so we can have more curvature in areas.. I ended up finding a super great deal on closed cell foam boards that were from a dismantled KMart building so we changed directions on using these for the main walls... But once we get the outer shell of the house up I will be back to sifting the dirt and there are a few additions I am going to make. I did add the wings and it funnels the dirt down almost perfectly, but I still want to make some tweaks... mainly I would like to fabricate a steel version of this..

I just found your channel. I think it’s pretty cool what you’re doing can’t wait to see some more videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Great set up!
Good job. Love your idea.
Thanks
Love it! Thank you!🎉🎉🎉 It's a pretty cool low tech solution to a situation many will encounter. Yay for ingenuity!
you are great. You should hold a in-person class so to help with your builds as well.
Awe thank you
