- I Think it's interesting not only for Wing Chun people, but for all martial art practitioners :)
The wooden man work allows excellent postural feedback: awareness of the center of gravity, constant pressure in the six directions, elastic use of strength, sensitivity, listening and play of steps... a boon "also" for all practitioners of internal styles .

Il lavoro all'uomo di legno consente un ottimo feedback posturale: consapevolezza del baricentro, pressione costante nelle sei direzioni, uso elastico della forza, sensibilità, ascolto e gioco dei passi... una manna "anche" per tutti i praticanti di stili interni.

I've trained a little and sparred with Wing chun Instructors over the years, and I really like the style for it's fast in close strikes/counters! I need to make a poor man wooden Dummy and learn these forms thank you for posting this great training video!

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to use the wooden dummy but there are a few practices I’m going to avoid: being flat footed, squaring off on the dummy, being robotic, slapping it, using unrealistic movements or techniques. I am incorporating: initiating all techniques from the on guard position, returning to the on guard position, lateral movement, feints, all ranges of combat, treating the device as an opponent, using proper energy, non rhythmic, avoiding excessive parries, head movement and level changes. It’s an interesting piece of equipment.
So nice Thanks Drar Master.I have seen another form in section one,it is tan sousai and pan Gin hand.fomer it is two people hold hans and by turn around can make others slide,one hand pull one hand,another hook and under sounder ,later is put one hand on neck,another pull another hand in the first section first movement.

Hi Luis, what I have was made by an artisan, many years ago, who no longer works. This one to keep outdoors in conifer wood (Douglas) and the one in the gym in oak wood.
Where did you purchase your dummy
My two, one in oak wood to keep indoors and this in Douglas fir to keep outdoors, were made many years ago by an Italian craftsman who unfortunately no longer makes them.

Movements are good, but I think the dummy is too high mounted for him. The upper arms should be on chest height. But of course I can see it's a fixed installation, which can't be adjusted.

Si, ogni scuola ha i suoi parametri. Per noi è importanti che le braccia del wooden dummy siano all'altezza delle spalle o meglio anche più in basso

WSL lineage, anni ottanta, quello che mi ricordo! Da allora sono sempre stato lontano dalla comunità del WC perchè era piuttosto "povera" umanamente. Il resto è farina del mio sacco, maturata in quaranta anni 🙏🏽
