Sephora reviews drive me CRAZY. They are usually based on what people imagine rather than what the product actually promises to do. Like reviews under a lighweight tinted moisturizer saying “I hate this. It is glowy and it doesn’t give me full coverage.” 🙃
This!!!! That shit drives me crazy! I recently read a review for a nail mask that you put on overnight and rinse off in the morning. The person complained that the “nail polish” didn’t last when it got wet. Well yeah it’s not gonna stay on because it not a polish it’s a mask and is made to be rinsed off 🤦🏻♀️
Yep! Sometimes they review it without even having it, like “5 stars! I can’t wait try it!” Or, people don’t know that 5 is the highest, and give something they like a 1.
or when they review skincare products without knowing anything about them. the other day I read one for a vitamin c serum where the person complained that it was drying and it didn't replace their moisturizer 🙈 like no shit sherlock, it's not supposed to!!
this reminded me of when Sleeping With Sirens came out with "If you were a movie, this would be your sound track" album and a lot of people where complaining about how acoustic/soft/quiet it is and how SWS have "changed" when it's literally the tuned-down version of their "With ears to see and eyes to hear" album 😒
Oh working retail.. I once had a lady tell me she didn't like the ABH brow pomade. She said it dried out too quickly. When me and one of the other girls working there told her we had not experienced that issue, she then proceeded to tell us she had left the cap off. I'm sorry ma'am.. that's not the product.. it's you 🤣 moral of the story, take these reviews with a grain of salt
my pomade is going on over 2 years strong still intact i’m proud especially cause my last one dried out because i left it open sometimes😂 i’m finally gonna get to go through a ABH pomade
The number of times people told me they didn’t like their beauty blender and then when I asked if they were using it wet they said “You’re supposed to do that?” is disturbing

kat spanovic yes!! That’s the worst. I can understand if you just don’t like the product or you have a reaction. But if you just skip over the direction or recommend use, you aren’t going to have a working product
It annoys me that ppl do this cause you are given access to samples to take home and try products, in my country you only have the displayed testers haha and if you don't like it, too bad. Like you said, it's wasteful that people don't even try
The one that frustrates me the most is mascara. It is as if everyone wants the Younique spikes for lashes. I already have long lashes that curl on their own. I just want something that will give me definition. The product often is good and will get discontinued. The reviews will be from people who said, my lashes are still stort/straight etc. That and "natural ingredient" people make me mad. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it is neccesarily safer or better. Like the addition of coconut oil that ruined my Chanel creme bronzer.
mitziedoll ugh the Chanel bronzer 😭 I have been dying to buy it and was planning to a few weeks ago...till I found out they changed the formula! So mad that they put coconut oil in there cause that breaks me out so bad! Such a bummer.
Sam 5 minutes into the video: "This is me defending my favourite products for 45 minutes" Me: *looks at video length* Video length: 47 minutes Me: "Yesssss I'm ready for this"
I work at a makeup store and I recommended my favorite pressed translucent Toofaced powder to so many co-workers because they asked me what I set my face with...all of them, at least 5 people returned it. .-. And a few months later, after years of it being sold, it gets discontinued. I have oily skin and come to find out they're all dry. The worst part is they knew my skin type when they asked what I use. Bruh. I know that's probably not why it got discontinued, but I still feel as if I singlehandedly brought that powder down.
Lmao! Don’t say that. Those Hourglass Scattered Lights are so pretty. This mess happens to me so ode to except it’s products that I love get reformulated and they add fragrance to the products.
HONESTLY! I buy tinted moisturizers because I don't like cake and foundation gives me acne... CC is the biggest lie in my entire collection. Gives me acne every time. I will always resent the Ulta employee who said it was a "great light coverage product".
i always feel exactly this way when watching american beauty youtubers try korean products. they always try to use lip tints like a liquid lipstick and then say it's bad... BUT IT ISN'T A LIQUID LIPSTICK!!! and that the eyeshadows and blushes aren't pigmented enough... BUT THAT IS LITERALLY THE POINT OF THE PRODUCT!!! korean makeup is meant to be light and natural not full coverage full pigment intense impact blah blah blah
I’ve got the Milk baked bronzer too. I use it all the time, and there’s no way I’ll ever use it up. I find it weird how the bronzer stick has more product than their stick foundation, though.
You need to try the Colourpop tinted moisturizer it’s my all time FAVORITE and started my love for light coverage skin, especially since you love the Tarte one you may like this a lot.
Nourhan Khaled yes! I love this stuff! I remember when it first came out and so many youtubers didn’t like it cause “there wasn’t enough coverage”........girl, it’s a tinted moisturizer
Re: milk makeup sticks making the skin itch- sometimes people with latex allergies also react to certain fruits, mango included. Wondering if this person is reacting to the mango butter in their stick products?
I kept waiting for Sam to read a review that started with "I bought this product because that damn Samantha Ravndahl on the RUclipss said it was good, but..." 😂😂
I was on the fence with the hourglass concealer the first couple of times I used it. Now I love it. I think people are probably using WAY too much which I think is what my problem was. I read reviews on Walgreens website of Cerave OINTMENT. People were complaining because said OINTMENT was...gasp....greasy. 🙄
I bought the Becca corrector as per your recommendation and I believe in a video you said it wasn’t heavy, but for me it actually is. I have really thin under eye skin so unfortunately a lot of correctors feel heavy to me including this one even though I apply as little as possible. Despite that what I love most about it is the dewy affect that pulls through even with concealer and foundation on top.
When I’m craving human contact during Covid lockdown Sam fills that void. She’s funny and smart and just keeps on talking. 😊 Girl you are a dream. Thank you for making my day a little brighter.
More than halfway through the video and I love that this is basically just Sam defending her favorite products against the 3 people who don’t like them lol
First of all, reviews on products are the most irritating thing, like ever! I mean, I read them, and then I'm convinced that half don't or won't use the product how I would, so it's useless to me (their review). And on top of that, products and what we all like, and hate, is so personal and based on our individual tastes it's so hit and miss. And you're completely correct in that someone will buy a foundation that is clearly a matte foundation and then there is always reviews saying it's just too matte. Lol Also, I love the Becca undereye corrector, and I also love the Becca light shifter brightening concealer that everyone hates. So, I've already prepared myself for it's fate. Love this video, you should totally make a couple more like this!! 😊
it gets on my nerves sometimes when people say things like "this foundation is so sheer, therefore it isn't worth the money!".. like WHAT? it doesn't work like that? in which universe the price is proportional to the pigmentation of a foundation?
I freaking LOVE the Tarte tinted hydrator! I get compliments often when I wear it, and got my mom hooked on using it too. It's perfect, for someone like myself, who loves light coverage base makeup
I bought Hourglass Smoke because of you and EVERY time I wear it, I get a billion compliments on it. I will say, a couple hours in, it does spread way further out from where I placed it but I don’t mind much.
Really goes to show how products work so differently for everyone. I love the eyes to mesmerize cream shadows and literally everything will crease on me unless I use certain eye primers (I have deep set eyes so it’s just something I have to deal with with my eye shape), even just bronzer on it’s own. But the eyes to mesmerize are one of the few products that I don’t need a primer for and will NOT crease on me
I love the CT Eyes to Mesmerize as well, especially in Bette and Marie Antoinette! Buuut they do crease on me even with different eye primers, and I’ve experienced that weird disappearing effect. 🤷♀️ Fortunately I don’t mind the creasing; I just smooth it out like Katie Jane Hughes has shown. So I kinda agree with the negative reviews. (Sorry Sam!)
I use my Becca under eye EVERY day, I do not wear makeup every day, but I use this because it brightens my shadows. I am a med /med tan and the light/med version is awesome!
I feel like with the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows this is a classic example of people using way too much product then getting mad when it doesn’t wear well. Those shadows provide a beautiful was of shimmery color and provide beautiful pigmentation without a ton of product. They aren’t super glittery and in your face and they aren’t meant to be. Light layers people and you will have a gorgeous effect that wears all day.
Sam: ”I’m going to do these videos on how to improve your mental help and what has helped me.” Also Sam: ”I’m going to hop onto the Sephora website and read comments that make me mad.” And I just love you with all my heart and this is the type of shiz I do, too :D
that becca under eye corrector changed my life. i literally couldn't live without it, if they discontinued that I would be lost. 95% of days i go out with just that and brow gel
the becca undereye corrector sure does have an interesting texture. I try to scoop it out with a spatula to avoid touching with a brush and contaminate it etc but it's like... to buttery for that. it looks all melted and weird now but I do live in a warmer country so maybe that's a "me" problem lol. the milk baked bronzer, yes, beautiful product, awful packaging. I agree with every bad comment about the packaging lol. To remove the round clear cap (not the twist up one, the one inside) chipped a big chunk of product and it was a similar "I looked ridiculous" situation. I sympathize with that poor girl in a spiritual level.
This might be excessive but if you use a clean brush to scoop in one time then drop the product off under both eyes, then come back and blend, that could help without contaminating. Idk if that makes sense and might be excessive 😂
I recommend everyone replays that face she makes when the chick says “the hourglass concealer is light to medium coverage” a few times. It’s amazing. Also really noticing how deliberate she is with her word choice and not saying shit like “it DOESNT do that” or “it’s GOOD”, she’ll say “I feel like for me, it has never...” or “it seems to me like it’s good because it does _____ for me”, or “I THINK ____”... Idk but I appreciate people who really think before they speak.
The first ingredient of the Becca under eye corrector is castor seed oil. Because of that, it helps keep the area hydrated, even when you put a “dryer” type concealer over it. That may be the reason you have a different result than others, with your concealers. I personally love the Becca corrector... when applied like you do. Loved this video by the way!
i absolutely loved how you tried to come up with solutions for people's comments about their experiences! because sometimes it really is about what you're using underneath a product or how your application is - and not really about the actual product.
Dang it Sam. If you keep giving so much info about the products you love you're gonna convince me to buy them all. Happened with the Becca corrector. Impulse buy. Do not regret it at all🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️ lol
1 oz is def standard for foundation, that review was contradicting itself left and right. And I commend you for not commenting on “I think it was expensive for the price”.
I’d love for you to do a video reading Sephora comments and telling us how to fix their mistakes! You had a few tips in their and I would loveee a dedicated video. I want to make certain products work for me if they can 😊
I just looked through my past Sephora reviews and: 1. It’s kind of annoying how you can’t seem to edit past reviews! My opinion has changed on some products. 2. I was offended at people marking some of my reviews as Not Helpful. I take pride in my detailed reviews! Lol. Just because you don’t agree with my review, doesn’t mean it wasn’t helpful! I’m offended. Hahahah
Agreed. Ive only ever marked things as unhelpful if they dont specify why they dont like the product or even better... when they talk about shipping or customer service. Like ok you dont like the product but what about it do you not like? Or what about it do you like? Shipping and customer service have nothing to do with the product.
I really wish I could look through your review history and play judge and jury on whether you are truly Helpful and Unfairly Persecuted, or if you’re actually Not Helpful and Not Self-Aware
I also feel like on most sites the like is on the left and dislike on the right and they're reversed on sephora. I definitely put unhelpful by mistake thinking it was the helpful button. But otherwise I've seen so many well detailed reviews that have many unhelpful and I'm scratching my head as to why.
Ooh the Becca light shifter concealer is intriguing! I would’ve never gone for something like that but as a subtle highlight... that sounds like my jam!
Tip if you want to try the milk bronzer! I actually really like it, but I bought the mini size, which actually has almost as much product as a full-size fenty match stick! I’ve had my mini for over a year now and I’m not running out anytime soon!

Nothing like some intentional stress to break up the quarantine. Mint.
helps keep my depression *fresh*
Sam: This concealer is salmon tone, basically my skin tone.
Me: The Becca concealer is SAMn tone.
I've had too much wine.
😂😂😂 so funny!
Sam 5 minutes into the video: "This is me defending my favourite products for 45 minutes"
Me: *looks at video length*
Video length: 47 minutes
Me: "Yesssss I'm ready for this"
I work at a makeup store and I recommended my favorite pressed translucent Toofaced powder to so many co-workers because they asked me what I set my face with...all of them, at least 5 people returned it.
That Becca under eye brightening concealer is my holy grail. It better never go away.
If the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter for a Superstar Youth Glow gets discontinued, I will snap.
Saaaaame. Every time she mentions it I'm like "stop taaaaaaalking about itttttt, it's gonna get discontiiiiiinued..." 😂
Seriously it’s one of the best products in existence. I’d have to buy a million backups 😱
I doubt it, it’s such a big seller! BUT since she sold her company, keep an eye out for reformulations..that’s when they SNEAK IN.
Bad Sephora reviews are beneficial for me when I want to splurge, but have no business doing that.
Truth! Oh my goodness!
Alternate video title: Sam Spends 47 Mins Explaining What You're Doing Wrong With Products That Don't Work For You
This is going to be hilarious when they get discontinued.
Karen Sanchez 😂😂😂 I feel bad for sam now
Lmao! Don’t say that. Those Hourglass Scattered Lights are so pretty. This mess happens to me so ode to except it’s products that I love get reformulated and they add fragrance to the products.
So is this why you and simplynailogical look so young? Canadian cryogenic effect
“A lot of tinted moisturizers are full coverage with moisturizer slapped on the bottle” I’m looking at you it cosmetics cc cream
HONESTLY! I buy tinted moisturizers because I don't like cake and foundation gives me acne... CC is the biggest lie in my entire collection. Gives me acne every time. I will always resent the Ulta employee who said it was a "great light coverage product".
@@lanilynn1227 it gives me acne too. I hate it
IT cc cream is meant to be full coverage. Watch any of the presentations on shopping channels. Supposed to cover anything
Catnip 4 EVERYTIME I go to Ulta or Sephora the sales associates suggest it for light coverage and I’m like nah sis that is full
Sam that stuff is pancake af.. 😂
God the Gecko bit actually made me burst out laughing on this dreary quarantine day, bless them
i always feel exactly this way when watching american beauty youtubers try korean products. they always try to use lip tints like a liquid lipstick and then say it's bad...
You spoke too soon the discontinued gods are coming.
I love it too! That's pretty much the only 'foundation' products I use, and CP's is the best!
One of the best shade ranges you can get for tinted moisturizers. But I do wish it was a bit glowier 🤷🏼♀️
I really enjoy it as well!!! It’s my current go to
I adore it! It’s amazing!
Re: milk makeup sticks making the skin itch- sometimes people with latex allergies also react to certain fruits, mango included. Wondering if this person is reacting to the mango butter in their stick products?
Chiara Bertolin As someone with a latex allergy, I did not know this. Thank you!
Chloe Hagen 💛
They also have coconut byproducts in them which a lot of people react to.
“Tan everywhere, Jan everywhere”
I’m out 😆😆 how dare you
“It’s like blue but a little Caucasian you know.” -Samantha Ravndahl 2020
This definitely needs to become a thing 😂
Yo i just subscribed (because you won me over) and you were at 999k and now you’re at 1M! Congrats!!
LMAO IM DED “3 people will convince ms Charlotte to discontinue this product”
Yeah 😄 thank god they won't
I have watched this video a ridiculous amount of times since it came out and I still love it and always click on it when it's recommended to me
The fact that you quoted the office in mid conversation means you are my SOULMATE 🥰
When my friends said they dislike the products I love, I’d go “ok, interesting.. BUT-“
I have saggy eyelids. i need eyelid bra. :(
They make stickers
FIRSt
Damm :(
Happy Fridayyyy
Ded
How dare you?
"firt."
When I’m craving human contact during Covid lockdown Sam fills that void. She’s funny and smart and just keeps on talking. 😊 Girl you are a dream. Thank you for making my day a little brighter.
“This product wasn’t made for my skin type/tone.... 1 star”
Laughed out loud with the “Jan, tan everywhere” 😂
47:08 of Sam convincing us why we need to give positive reviews on her fave products lol
Christine Becker 0:00-47:08
More than halfway through the video and I love that this is basically just Sam defending her favorite products against the 3 people who don’t like them lol
First of all, reviews on products are the most irritating thing, like ever! I mean, I read them, and then I'm convinced that half don't or won't use the product how I would, so it's useless to me (their review). And on top of that, products and what we all like, and hate, is so personal and based on our individual tastes it's so hit and miss. And you're completely correct in that someone will buy a foundation that is clearly a matte foundation and then there is always reviews saying it's just too matte. Lol
Also, I love the Becca undereye corrector, and I also love the Becca light shifter brightening concealer that everyone hates.
Two uploads in one week... can we get a round of applause for this! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 way to go Sam!!!
I bought Hourglass Smoke because of you and EVERY time I wear it, I get a billion compliments on it. I will say, a couple hours in, it does spread way further out from where I placed it but I don’t mind much.
I love those too. I bought the 3 pack holiday collection and its awesome I want to get more colours!
This video was hysterical ......”from the gecko” 🦎😂😂 HAHAHA
That sneaky Office quote. Dayum, girl ♥️♥️
Sam: Says Skin TInt
Also Sam: Can't remember the name of Glossier's Skin Tint
I feel like with the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows this is a classic example of people using way too much product then getting mad when it doesn’t wear well. Those shadows provide a beautiful was of shimmery color and provide beautiful pigmentation without a ton of product. They aren’t super glittery and in your face and they aren’t meant to be. Light layers people and you will have a gorgeous effect that wears all day.
Sam: ”I’m going to do these videos on how to improve your mental help and what has helped me.”
Also Sam: ”I’m going to hop onto the Sephora website and read comments that make me mad.”
And I just love you with all my heart and this is the type of shiz I do, too :D
that becca under eye corrector changed my life. i literally couldn't live without it, if they discontinued that I would be lost. 95% of days i go out with just that and brow gel
I already know I'm gonna love this as much as your discontinued products video LOL angry sam is a vibe
the becca undereye corrector sure does have an interesting texture.
Can you keep your product in the fridge? That might solve your problem!
Samantha is like the only beauty RUclips r that I can enjoy an almost 1 hour video of with no breaks...she just gives me life!
I loooove this video idea bc it truly shows how different everyone’s taste is when it comes to makeup
"From the gecko" 😂😂😂 WHAT, HOW?! 😂
I've been subbed to you for a while but havent watched any vids in a whileee and omg youre fucking hilarious. I love this video lol
Love this idea!! Hate reading reviews sometimes cuz it starts to scare me away from a product 😭😂😂
i absolutely loved how you tried to come up with solutions for people's comments about their experiences! because sometimes it really is about what you're using underneath a product or how your application is - and not really about the actual product.
Tan everywhere... who else is watch the office for the 10th time during this quarantine?
Nicole Myers it’s on in the background right now 😂
Nicole Myers jan everywhere
Yes how did you know
That milk bronzer has been my go to and now especially it is with the Fenty amber cream compact. Those two together are a fantastic combo!
Dang it Sam. If you keep giving so much info about the products you love you're gonna convince me to buy them all. Happened with the Becca corrector. Impulse buy. Do not regret it at all🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️ lol
this video inspired me to write reviews on ulta/sephora. I’m having the best time thx sam
I want to make certain products work for me if they can 😊
I just looked through my past Sephora reviews and:
Hahahah
Melissa Andrea Gutiérrez I thought I was the only one that got offended when someone marks my review as not helpful 😂😂
Honestly one of my favorite videos you’ve ever done. (Chef’s kiss) 👌🏼
I want to try the Hourglass vanish concealer based on your recommendation but I already have so much concealer that I need to run through first 😅
Same here. I will be getting that one though the next time I need to buy one.
Ooh the Becca light shifter concealer is intriguing! I would’ve never gone for something like that but as a subtle highlight... that sounds like my jam!
“That sounds like a you problem.” 😂🤣😂🤣
Tip if you want to try the milk bronzer! I actually really like it, but I bought the mini size, which actually has almost as much product as a full-size fenty match stick! I’ve had my mini for over a year now and I’m not running out anytime soon!
