Oh boy! If you knew how many times I have flown in the 737-800 with UIA out of Gatwick to Kyiv! I have friends in Kharkiv and so I have flown many, many times with UIA. Kyiv is a great airport too! And, as a desktop computer pilot, I have flown many hours on the 737-800 out to Sharm, Hurghada and to Lviv and Kharkiv! Great video! Really hoping I can make the trip this summer. Looks like you have a very small fuel imbalance between the two wing tanks. I usually use the crossfeed to balance up the fuel when I reach cruise level. Do you use assumed temperature for derates or do you use as company set formula? In all the flights I have flown with UIA, it's always been takeoff flaps 5 - but then you are pretty light so flap 1 would be fine. Great video.

I just saw 4 stripes on FO as well.
Great detail on preflight walk around, navigation set up, start, ground communication, ATC, etc. I watch many of these videos daily and the detail and clarity of explanation is superb. Ukrainians have command of aircraft English!

Fascinating look at a 737-800 walk around and what to look for, and full run through of initial checks, take off procedures, and emergency angle speeds and all that that has to be thought about before liftoff and even push back. Very interesting look on whats needed and how. Thankyou for taking the time to explain it.

Just wanna share latest update, Sadly Denys isn’t with UIA anymore now (for the complete statement please go to his channel in video “we need to talk”) also he’s now move away from Ukraine.
Recently he’s focus to improving his health (workout, etc) & will back to commercial aviation someday. Best wishes for capt Denys. I hope flying with UIA isn’t his last gig & soon get an opportunity to fly again w/ another airline…

Flying my favourite Boeing 737 variant aka the 737-800
Doesn't the EEC always read data from the the T12 TAT sensor rather than the front mounted TAT sensor? I thought that was the whole point of the T12 TAT along with the pressure sensor for optimum fuel flow.
Just on ground and first 5 minutes. That is what book says...
@@PilotBlogDenys thanks for the reply. Might I ask why this is? Is it because after the 5 min of flight the TAT sensor and T12 have the same readings?

Nothing,you have just 2 captains because the FOs are scheduled for an another time, you can fly on both side its exactly the same thing ...
Was a scheduling thing... the airline swapped some crews to allow for Captain Denys to be on specific flights to suit what we were looking to film for the program.

I wonder why they didn't engage the autopilot on early, was due to the weather condition?
Lot's of Airlines now encourage pilots to hand fly the aircraft for longer, some airlines encourage it's pilots to hand fly up to 15,000 feet and on landing it's same thing pilots are encouraged to fly from 15,000 feet down to landing.
