This is a Honda Shadow. It is idling too low. It is not a Harley. It is starving the top end of the engine for oil. This bike will last forever.... If you don't do this 😂

But now I ride every day, don’t want a car and I’m changing oil spark plugs and fixed a couple things all by myself, gotta fix my tailight this afternoon. She’s my baby... you can do this, if I did ANYBODY CAN! I’m a 53 year old single female..js
7 months in ,absolutely no hope I even asked if I could buy a $600 mitsubishi lancer boxtype(a popular classic rally car) WITH MY MONEY they said no. Idk, man, these sadistic parents, dont let me go out,don't make me have friends(homeschooled for 4 years),and don't even let me go out by myself It's useless to live anymore. All I do is study death is a more comforting concept that rotting in this prison of a house.
That's because it's idling way too low. Honda shadows are designed to idle from 1100 RPMs to 1400 RPMs. If you try to idle it so low that it sounds like a Harley when it's not.... You'll burn out the top into the engine because it's starved for oil. There are actually single pin cam Honda shadows but they're the small CC ones not this
@@Musicalsoda It depends on the year of shadow 750. This is a 2001 and the crankshaft is different giving a different sound than other years. Exhaust is aftermarket too.
Not really but I put two small idle mixture screws under needle to richen it up and bent the tang on the accelerator pump to let it squirt more. I also bypassed the coolant going to the carb.
Either it’s just cold and you need to choke it. Or you tuned down the rpm’s way too low to sound like a Harley. Which don’t do that, the oil pump won’t pump oil to the top of the heads and you’ll burn it up.

Honda recommends that these things idle from 1100 to 1400 RPMs. Their cam is pinned twice. A Harley's campus pined once. This engine is choking for oil because the idle is too low
@@9mmshort254 there's a knob on the left that adjusts the idle. Idle speeds vary from bike to bike. But hondas idle usually around 1000 rpm while Harleys around 750 rpm. If your honda sounds like this at idle make an adjustment cause the oil won't lube properly unless your hitting the necessary rpm.

My 03 ACE 750 is 21 years young, and it still runs like new. These are really awesome bikes. I have straights on mine also. I love the sound.

99 to newer reason being they are single carburetor rather than double carb slightly easier to work on

Even though it sounds good with a low RPM idle, the engine oil flow requires it to be higher, check the manual

Every year one comes back for tune up after sitting for winter ever have that problem where right off idle it bangs and pops
My accelerator pump was not spraying fuel and it would stumble off idle. I also bent the tang on the accelerator pump to let it spray more fuel.
If the oil light is off then psi is sufficient.

I did not reject. I adjusted the mixture screw out and added a small washer under the needle.

No, I raised the needle by adding small washer and bent the accelerator pump tab to make it squirt more fuel.
