My best friend of six years is really really into vintage fashion and if only she spoke english I'm sure she'd absolutely LOVE your videos! I've been watching the look ones a lot to get gift ideas for her! (And also because despite being a dude I just absolutely love retro dresses, they look AMAZING. I'd wear them my damn self if they were sized for men.)
This was really fun to watch. I'm personally not into vintage/retro, I'm most definitely more into modern/contemporary clothes. I'm also a bit tomboy(ish) lol. It's fun watching other people's styles though. Sizing drives me crazy. Too varied even from the same suppliers.
+Kirsty glad you liked the video even if it isn't your style. I do know a couple of brands that have great clothes for tomboys so maybe you can be tempted to try a little retro from them... I'll make sure to mention it when reviewing them!
Long time subscriber here -don't know if you'll get this missive! Just wanted to stop for a moment and thank you for these videos! I have recently been feeling a LOT of anxiety as of late (hello anxiety disorder!) and I've been noticing that my viewing choices have gone mad dark as a result. I noticed it today and thought to myself what was something lovely which i could watch and help me "disassociate" from that mood. Your vintage playlist came to mind and I tuned in! I put on this playlist and cleaned my apartment (for the first time this month) and continued to watch whilst enjoying a glass of wine. Your content and attitude helped me SO much this evening. Thank you so much and I look forward to vintage content in the future!! Love to you, the fam, and the pups! Thanks gal!
My prom dress was from Lindy Bop. Like you mentioned, there was a lot of length in the torso. However, I am very short waisted so my mum had to take the shoulders up a bit to make sure I wasn't dropping out of it. It was lovely though, especially with a massive swishy petticoat underneath!
Oh that's such a great prom dress idea! I'm the same and really loved having a big skirt for my prom when everyone else had straight down styles (although mine was floor length... and was trod on a lot!). I'm sure you looked fab! x
Great review. Very thorough and I agree with everything you said. I also am either an 8 or a 10, but I find it so difficult to decide because their sizing is totally random. But I do enjoy shopping from them, especially during the big sales. 💗 xx
I have bought so many things from Lindy Bop in the last month or so, it's brought a little bit of sunshine to my cfs flare up! Also, on each item page there is a sizing guide, it's best to check each item, I ended up having to order 2 sizes up on certain! Darn these melons. loved this video!
I find the sizing peculiar too - often I'm drowning in fabric at the waist in Lindy Bop, but squished in the chest! I've only found one dress that fits (the Bernice) but obviously I now have it in every colour way 😂 Their Peggy skirts are amazing!
I kno this was a year ago, but I am tall, but it is all in my legs. I do have a naturally high waist which is nice as I am currently new to 1950's retro/vintage clothing. I plan only to wear it sometimes currently. I hope to one day wear it more often as I build my collection up. I have peices from Modcloth, Unique vintage, Retro Stage, and Grace Karin through Amazon. I love your content a lot!
They are great for shipping to the U.S. also! They do a $7 flat rate for U.S. (Collectif usually costs me around $14). I also like that they have a U.S. website that lists all their prices in USD instead of pounds. Shopping on Collectif (who lists in pounds only) I will fill my cart and forget that it's in pounds and my price is going to be about a third higher than what I see! Suddenly after shipping and conversion what I thought was going to be $100 turns into $150!
From what I’ve seen looking at the Lindy Bop website each dress has a slightly different size guide (due to the different styles and cuts I’m assuming) This can be up to a full inch so you need to make sure you’re checking the size guide for each item you’re buying.
haha those shoe bunny tails are great! They would work great on the toes at Christmas time, but all I could think about them in the front was that they're elf shoes :-P I think I like the cocktail pattern more than the bus pattern... but the bus dress is fantastic in shape and the background color is lovely! I'm not a huge fan of literal patterns either...
I really want to get into wearing vintage clothes, so your video is helping a lot!! One goal for 2018 is to upgrade my wardrobe to vintage and your give me a lot of inspiration and i‘m so happy I found your channel a few weeks ago! You‘re so lovely and beautiful, have a good day 😊💓
The designs you are referring to (the literal pictures as you said) is called a "novelty print". I love that cocktail print fabric, I have a dress in that pattern, it's my favorite!
I love the reviews! I should look up the shop soon. The cocktail skirt is not quite my taste but all of the other things you showed us until now are lovely! I knew you'd pull out some more bows when I saw your huge smile! 😄 I'm pro bunny bows! Your first Lindy bop dress has such a beautiful colour! I love a vibrant red. The striped one is stunning, also! And of course the flower-favourite ❤️ I ruddy love your clothes. (See? You influence me. I've never used the word ruddy before). I will use the measuring advice! Let's see when I finally buy my first vintage dress. 😊 I hope they ship internationally and to a reasonable price! Thanks for the lovely review ❤️
Glad to have an influence 😉 Lindy Bop does ship internationally but your best bet is probably going through Top Vintage (topvintage.net/en) as they're on the continent so the shipping shouldn't be too bad. Let me know when you do get something! x
I love Lindy Bop! I'm more of a rockabilly girl when it comes to my dresses. Sizing can be a bit hit and miss with styles, but that's because I'm only 5"3, a size 16 with a 36J bust! It's difficult for any clothes, especially shoes! I have such shoe envy for the girls that can wear even the slightest bit of a heel, I was born with twisted shin bones so I have to wear specific shoes with specialised insoles! Haha! I mostly buy their pencil dresses and skirts for a 1940's weekend we have every year up north! Trying to save up for dresses is a nightmare! But Lindy Bop are so comfortable, especially when trying to keep up with my friend Bernie Dexter at Atomic Festival! One day I will become a Bernie Dexter girl! Have you tried Freddies of Pinewood? Can be quite pricy, but great for a more "authentic" look! Much love💜
First up: Love these reviews! Second: Does anyone have any tips for doing vintage while sticking to a darker colour scheme (especially black)? I've been looking around for a bit,but there's only ever a few cute black things. Any recommendations are very welcome
That is unfair! I would have asked if they could have just sent it back to you. I love the shirt you're wearing in this video! You look great! Plus puffs on the back of the shoe for sure. x
I have one Lindy Bop dress with circle skirt, which is devine .It's the one called"Harlow"& I got it super cheap from Amazon. The trouble is I ordered a size 6, . My size, which is 8, had sold out. I tried it on and somehow managed to close the zip .After several hours the top started to rip, oh my, oh my! I would have needed ca.1-2cm more width around my shoulders and breasts .I can't wear this lovely dress anymore as it's destroyed! It was only £12.50 ; hence I figure I can afford to take it to the Taylor to get it fixed!( I might have to pay maybe £40 , but I love this dress so much I guess it is worth it) The dress is violet silk with a layer of black lace on top.The long circle skirt bops in the wind ...but I shall never order a size 6 again! Loved your video...see you later...(meaow)!
haha yeah the sizings are so strange! I fit anywhere from a size 12 to a size 16! But i do love some of their stuff! I ALWAYS get compliments when i wear their dresses and skirts out :) My fave is my "Tibet" skirt! Fab review!
I just bought some dresses from Lindy Bop today I’m normally UK size 8 but I measured myself on the website and I was a size 12 are the Lindy Bop sizes vintage too
Hey Jessica! I relate a lot to your videos because I'm also disabled and have a girlfriend, and what you say is very affirming and validating to me. I've got a completely different question though: my girlfriend is quite busty too (more than you, even) and she's really sad she can't wear halter dresses because they show her bra. How do you do it?
Hi, I hope that the bra issue is resolved since your question. If not, there are bras that you can convert to a halterneck or a racerback if you want to. I mostly wear Chantelle but I know that they are on the pricier side of things. Jessica has said that she is wearing long-line bras and with many of them you can wear them strapless so you can use halterneck dresses. I hope that the issue is long gone, but if not I hope you can use my reply in some way. Yours, Ann
MY complaint with Lindy bop was when ordering jumpsuits I spent more money on getting the legs altered than the actual item itself.. The legs where the leg length for someone over 6 foot. Which is fine if it has no detail on the bottom of the legs but mine did (sailor style outfit) so that costed a lot more for me.
I adore your hair here. Is one of your curling videos for this technique? I have longer hair and like that while it is vintage it wouldn't make me feel like I'm cosplaying vintage
You are impossibly BEAUTIFUL!!!!! with such a playful personality!!!! your style and your smile, also your hair remind me of Dominique Swain in Adrian Lyne's ''Lolita'' . I LOVE your hair on this vid, it looks like Veronica Lake's! I find your channel the most enjoyable of all the retro girls ones...question: do u ever use the ''roll n go'' tool for your hair? I just bought it. I don't use heat for my hair. I have naturally long, thick, ''wild'' hair lol and I love it. I dont do anything to it but wanted to try the pincurl brushout for that ''film noir starlet'' halo type do (think Rita in GILDA!) i dont own any hair tools besides the roll n go.....have u ever used it? Anyway....best to u youre adorable gurl :)))
which size petticoat should i get for my red grace dress (the red one you showed)? i've got a size 12 in the dress and i don't know which length to get for the petticoat, there are so many different lengths and i never even thought about it until i bought the dress
I used to make Hairbows and have immense amount of ribbon...THANK YOU I now know I can make shoe bows now...a little cottage industry. I made a load of hair bows for my granddaughter come to find out she hates to wear shoes and anything on her head. Now I have a use for my ribbon in the shed.
Question for you (and I know this is an old video but I'm going through all of your old ones ❤): When using the Closed captioning/subtitles on this video, the "English (UK)" only works for about 5ish minutes and then stops. That version is very accurate. But when I switched to "English (auto-generated)", a lot of it doesn't make sense. Lol sorry for the random question. I've just always wondered this.
Thank you for spotting this! RUclips offers auto-generated closed captions, but they are not very accurate... My friends and subscribers help me make subtitles as I can't do them myself! It seems like something went wrong when the human-made ones were uploaded in this video, so I'll get them checked! I recently found an Etsy shop that sells nothing but shoe clips, and I immediately thought of you! They're pricer than the Lindy Bop ones but they are handmade so that's to be expected. There are literally hundreds of bows to choose from, I'm sure you'll be in heaven! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TwinkleToesShoeClips
Heya sis new subbie here , I like your channel a lot ♡ I'm also planning to start a RUclips channel would you be interested in a swap ? I really want my first video to be a swap unboxing video ❤ I completely understand if u say no 😊 Lots of love from India ☺ ps. I hope u r channel continues to grow you seem so lovely ❤

Cassette P just wear them anyway!!! im sure you’d look fantastic
The world needs more guys like you

"arse to head" - brilliant. You're human is brilliant.

And i had the same issue with sending things back in regards to not giving me the shipping costs back which i had to pay to SEND back as a return
I'm a "no" on the pom poms. But I love your taste. And you're absolutely charming to watch. I am inspired by your style!
+Brianna Stevens thank you but ha ha yep the pom poms aren't for everyone! 😄
Mee too, I think they would look adorable though if they were a bit smaller!
They almost remind me of the pom poms on Tinkerbell shoes.
I loved watching how you used the pieces you purchased in outfits. Such lovely photographs as well! Very thorough review. Thanks Jessica!
Thank you 💗
with the "bunny tail" clips she could totally be Tinkerbell lol
Yes!
Great review. Very thorough and I agree with everything you said. I also am either an 8 or a 10, but I find it so difficult to decide because their sizing is totally random. But I do enjoy shopping from them, especially during the big sales. 💗 xx
So pleased I'm not alone on the sizing issue! x
Also, im in love with your shirt in this video
I have bought so many things from Lindy Bop in the last month or so, it's brought a little bit of sunshine to my cfs flare up! Also, on each item page there is a sizing guide, it's best to check each item, I ended up having to order 2 sizes up on certain! Darn these melons.

Ahh, I'm familiar with the dangers of shopping online with different currencies... ha ha
At lindybop I always look at the "actual garment messurments" size table never got it wrong! :)
You looked absolutely marvelous in the pair of jeans ! But do what comfortable for you . You look so happy in your clothes 😄😄😄

Ha ha, oh dear, now you've christened them 'elf shoes' they're definitely not going to be worn at the front! 😆
Jessica Kellgren-Hayes oops! haha sorry! They'll be adorable at Christmas time in the front though!
I'm definitely going to do a Christmas Outfit Challenge again in December and the elf shoes will feature heavily 😉
I’d love to see a new fashion review. Interested to hear how your thoughts may of changed
Absolutely loved this review and haul! Really makes me want to buy vintage clothes (even though I've never tried any) :)
+PowderedSugarOnYourNose go for it! I'm planning on covering lots of different retro brands so there will certainly be something to suit your style x
Yay! Can't wait to see more videos! Hope you're having a great day

Argh! I was looking for your LOVELY jumper but they don't have it any more. I am LOVING your retro videos!! You are beautiful!!!
Aw sorry, it's from pre-Christmas... But really glad you're enjoying my retro videos! ☺
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard which brand is it? Is it from Lindy Bop too? I cannot hear it on the video :(
I loved the pom pom on the front of the shoes, so cute!

Your videos are so calming and wonderful

I just bought some dresses from Lindy Bop today I’m normally UK size 8 but I measured myself on the website and I was a size 12 are the Lindy Bop sizes vintage too

I really love lindybop but I do find they run small which is difficult for me as I'm a bit bustier and curvier. Lovely video! Xx
Thank you! I do love their things (obviously) but you're very right, I have found some pieces to be very straight up and down rather than hourglass x
I am gonna get some dresses from them. Your dress is very adorable.
Can you try some cheap Petticoats? I want to start wearing petticoats but they are so pricey
I did here! ruclips.net/video/ogxMKFjSpxI/видео.html x
I love Lindy bop!!!
I adore your hair here. Is one of your curling videos for this technique? I have longer hair and like that while it is vintage it wouldn't make me feel like I'm cosplaying vintage

such a great haul

You are soooooo funny but in an elegant, feminine way! Love listening to you.:)
does anyone know where she got the sweater she’s wearing? i love it!
My question for you is what type of hosiery you wear in winter assuming you wear dress all year round.
DRESSLILY IS ALSO AMAZING FOR CHEAP BUT WELL MADE VINTAGE DRESSES!
Omg this video 👌🏻👌🏻😍😍
Thank you lovely 💗
I don't tend to have a problem with Lindybop clothing, but I cheat because I can sew so I usually order a size up and take it in in the non-boob bits.
There you go, glad you enjoyed my little tip x
Thanks :-)
Question for you (and I know this is an old video but I'm going through all of your old ones ❤): When using the Closed captioning/subtitles on this video, the "English (UK)" only works for about 5ish minutes and then stops. That version is very accurate. But when I switched to "English (auto-generated)", a lot of it doesn't make sense. I'm not deaf but am losing a lot of my hearing and it goes in waves so I prefer to watch videos with them on. Are the captions both RUclips generated or do you insert them? Or how does it work? Lol sorry for the random question. I've just always wondered this.
Thank you for spotting this! RUclips offers auto-generated closed captions, but they are not very accurate... My friends and subscribers help me make subtitles as I can't do them myself! It seems like something went wrong when the human-made ones were uploaded in this video, so I'll get them checked! Look for the logo that says SUBTITLES or [CC] to know which ones of my videos have accurate subtitles :) x
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard that's what I thought but since this one said [CC], that's why I was confused! Thanks for the response! Love your videos!!
Where did you get the top your wearing?! It’s soooooo cute
I like both bows & pompoms :)
I love your top! Where is that from?
I have to ask where you get your longline bras from?
They don't have any dresses in UK size 22 :( do you know a UK or EU based shop that does?
lady vintage is made mostly in England and Germany :)
Wow this is three years old. Your makeup skills have definitely improved!
What's your style in the winter?
Where did you get those shoes?
Hi Morgan! I bought those shoes on Asos aaages ago... sorry about that x
I recently found an Etsy shop that sells nothing but shoe clips, and I immediately thought of you! They're pricer than the Lindy Bop ones but they are handmade so that's to be expected. There are literally hundreds of bows to choose from, I'm sure you'll be in heaven! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TwinkleToesShoeClips
do you need any adaptation in your clothing to accommodate your disability?
I love you so much
Heya sis new subbie here , I like your channel a lot ♡ I'm also planning to start a RUclips channel would you be interested in a swap ? I really want my first video to be a swap unboxing video ❤ I completely understand if u say no 😊
Lots of love from India ☺
ps. I hope u r channel continues to grow you seem so lovely ❤
