I've been playing Snowbreak since release. The shooting mechanics have always been fun, but the original characters had a bland militaristic look. Snowbreak was getting really close to shutting down, so the developers decided to go all out on fan service. It started with the summer vacation, where they released a bunch of bikini skins for the most popular characters. After that they doubled down, and release Katya who is all T&A, very flirtatious, and with a much more revealing outfit. Now we're moving on to the stage where the fans have renamed it Snowpeak. Interactive scenes with the waifus. Revealing outfits for the all the female operatives. A 13+ girl harem, with all the female characters swooning over the MC. A massage table, and a massage mini game. And now we can get married to two of the most popular waifus.
Katya got me to try Snowbreak. Being a Nikke player. I love the fact how Snowbreak doesn't gatekeep you out of the content and is very supportive of the fanbase in it's current form. The fact during the year anniversary alone it's made so much money shows how much the fans support what the devs are doing. You get Fenny 5 star for free as the best support for the game compared to a $60/£45 skin for a character that is not very good past chapter 20 in Nikke that is censored. Speak volumes currently.
My same exact story... nikke main player brought in by Katya. Their increasingly better story writing has kept me here since. Their skins blow Nikke gacha skins out of the water. So much more for less money...
just found you and binged a lot of your Snowbreak videos (mostly because im not interested in WuWa) and i like your content sir, i know the videos have a lot of cuts, but they are super focused on whats important and i like that, hope a lot more players find you i started day 1 but dropped the game once at 1.1, tbh im mostly a waifu gooner, and the girls werent too appealing to me, but Katya brought me back (although i almost came back sooner due to Tess) and ive been enjoying it so much as a side game, even when im going hard on it i barely use any time of my day and i appreciate that and yeah, since release to 1.1, then to Katya to now, the devs and the game have improved so much, i hope things keep going this way
started playing in the middle of the 5 star Siris event, actually quite enjoyed the gameplay and have been exclusively running free starter unit (Fenny4, Lyfe4, Acacia4) and it's quite doable, I also like that the daily can be done super quickly, they really respect your time with all the skips, perfect side gacha game for me
Nikke main player here. Katya brought me in and the increasingly better story writing has kept me here. Such a tear jerker for Cherno and Mersault's event story... the devs really are something else too thats why i buy the skins i like to help support them. The only other devs i see in a positive light are the Nikke devs who usually communicate well too... i really hope Snowbreak keeps growing and succeeding because im in for the ride until EOS. Also that backflip youre doing with Fenny is bringing back memories of me spamming the backflip and side step in Legend of Zelda.
Yea, though pgr might be a bit better depending on what type of player you are. If your a collector pgr would be better since only 60 and maybe 30-60 pulls for weap. Though if your a whale and want SSS and max resonances, then snowbreak is better because you only need to pull 1 copy of the chara and 2 for weap
I would put Nikke more under cover shooter or light gun shooter genre. It's not like you can move anywhere or reposition. Just cover and shoot. To be a TPS, the game have to be at minimum play like Ratchet&Clank, Freedom Fighters, Gears of War or Max Payne. So Nikke is not really a contender for Snowbreak. They both have their own niche. And Nikke is more suited for mobile audience whereas Snowbreak is really calling for M&K. BUT there are upcoming TPS games that may contend with Snowbreak like Strinova, Xunjing and Duet Night Abyss. Xunjing only just been announced but it's an open world game with actual shooter elements, style isn't anime in comparison to the rest. The vibe looks like 3rd person Destiny. Duet Night Abyss is anime Warframe. Strinova is TPS anime Valo. Not only that, Strinova and DNA are mixed gender games. Xunjing, from the trailer, looks like it has only waifus but have to wait for more details. Unending Dawn is more Sekiro style. So yeah, looks like Snowbreak is in their own niche with no actual contender for now.
Just install Snowbreak last week. Found by chance when updating my Playstore. Decided to give it a try. And to my surprise, I had fun play the game. It checks out all my needs. Waifu ✅ Harem ✅ Fan service ✅ QoL ✅ Shooting ✅ (I don't mind 3rd person shooter, thou) Gacha ✅ Play mechanics ✅. The only lacking in this game is the VA. I mostly skip the story cuz of lacking VA lines.
Are you playing in JP or EN? In the past Snowbreak almost got EoS and they decided to remove EN dub cuz they lacking the funds. And now that they have the money to do EN dub again, the EN VAs quit because the game decided to be a fan service game they don't like it so they decided to not take the job again. There's also a CN VA drama recently wherein almost all CN VAs quit, only 3 VAs decided to stay which is katya, yao and cherno I think correct me if I'm wrong. But now got replaced by a new batch of CN VAs. because a certain VA studio threatens them not to give VA jobs from big companies like hoyo because they are accepting jobs from snowbreak they really don't like snowbreak's success. There's a lot of rumors I'm not really sure what's true anymore.
6:23 We actually have active waifu based shooter game from miHoyo, GunsGirl Z, but it's a 2D side scrolling. We also have a 3D TPS one but it's top down view like Alien Shooter, from Seasun themselves lol, Girl Cafe Gun Edit: and wtf man, Haru is good, she's so fun to play
I do want to point out that i hate the 240 stamina/presence system. If the limit would increase with level it would be nice or atleast dont charge presence for redoing story missions.
Maybe I missed it but how is the gacha currency economy? Like how do you obtain pulls for characters/weapons? You mention the skins but are you only able to get said skins via real money?
Yes said skins are only obtainable by real money. some are battle pass others are in the shop obtaining characters/weap is by normal gems as of obtaining characters 100 pulls 100% and weps are 80 pulls 100% you can get currency pretty easily likely you can pull a character every 2 patches
I'm a day 1 player I never spent money on this game but got almost all characters only 1 missing which is haru, and back then when the gacha system is 50/50 I lost a tons of 50/50s on chars and weapons. But now I can say that with the 100 pulls guaranteed you can actually get all the characters every patch, not all the weapons though. With luck you might get both the character and weapon. And not all characters need their sig weapon. There's also a limited weapon selector that you can get right now.
I was going to play a dating sim but was recommended this instead. I see people talking a lot of this game and how its fanservice, but does it actually has any dating mechanics? That doesn't seem to be the case, correct me if I'm wrong.
I'll be honest, I can't play Snowbreak, the lack of exploration in it kills the game for me, I don't want to play menu simulator. I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME
Welcome to gacha games cause before genshin that's what all gacha games were. I personally don't think snowbreak needs to have an open World it's a shooter, instance based compliments the gameplay more. Don't know how far you got but there is an open World gamemode with a Pokemon system, you can get chests, do fishing, get collectable, and get more "pokemon" to progress through the levels.
This game gets alot of hate, this video was recommend so forgive me but im assuming your praising this game so much because your a content creator for it.. because I don't see much of that praise anywhere on gaming or mobile game sites. I tried this game at some point months ago but stopped pretty early, I'm guessing much of the hate comes from the fan service and harem stuff seeing as there's complaints about a male character getting removed for some reason. HOWEVER I'm surprised a CN game has this much fan service so that surprised me, I think also another appeal for this game is its not open world alot of gamers are getting tired of them(i for one got burned out by them.) so games like this , nikke and zzz are attracting those players. (Btw most of the hate this game gets is from the ahem.... woke crowd and that in turn is making more people flock to this game out of curiosity. ) Honestly thought this game died because I stopped seeing those weird and as you put it SuS ads that I thought were fake but to my surprise their on their utube channel lol. But yeah sorry for long post but if your a content creator for the game I understand why your selling all pros and not any of the cons. Ps: and yes this game is called coomer bait outside its fandom and people complain about fan service being a bit much. thank you for cc the game volume is louder than your voice so its hard to hear you. (Might try the game again sounds like they fixed alot, don't care about the fan service and harem stuff though.)
So yeah this game is more of an old styled Japanese gacha where it's very fanservicelike with only very side game styled stuff to do within the game. The hate comes from the fan service mainly from the CN side but also that's what the praise is. In global there's not too much praise going on besides the people that are playing it, though the game is slowly growing through it's ads or CCs that create, etc as I've shown on the steam charts which is really cool. Even the sub reddit for snowbreak global has grown significantly in the last few months. As for the critique well that's a future thing. There is a few stuff that I'd like then to change, but I just want to catch a few things with snowbreaks anniversary and some wuthering stuff first since I do work full time
I just started less than a month ago. This game has earned me buying the monthly pass as long as It's not influenced by Western Social media who don't even play the game. This game feels like its has easy farming and fanservice of Azur Lane and Girls Frontline 2 character levelling. Still mad it took me 77 pulls to get Lyfe though.
AL is a good comparison to what the gameplay loop and monetization is like, except this game has even less dailies than AL. Definitely prefer this game right now for the 3D models and gameplay. AL churns out characters like crazy, so for me that game feels more like as if I was collecting pokemon cards compared to actually playing the card game with cards I am familiar with.
@@tetraavalon3664 I think the Dev's also think that. They're pivoting to making the old characters useful and making characters more interactive than just collecting and forgetting. Their livestreams are showing previews of 3d interactive characters but nothing clear yet.
@@Aserbic I still play the game daily because I can do it in the background while playing other games. Hopefully the 3d stuff comes with some new gameplay, but I'm still okay with it being a collector game. I was the type of kid that collected pokemon and yugioh cards for fun lol
