What Ted Kennedy did doesn’t fit the legal definition of murder. At best, it was manslaughter, at worst, negligent homicide. For it to be murder, it would have to be premeditated with the intent to kill. Regardless of what Kennedy did afterwards, what happened was an accident, and that’s essentially nonnegotiable.

That was a beautiful & moving eulogy by a grateful son, & I say this having very recently lost both parents within 3 weeks of each other but after long & very worthy lives. My favorite part was how Ted Sr. invested the time & effort to build up Ted Jr.'s self-belief & inner peace after losing his leg at age 12. That was a real father!
