Why was their mother Joan shoved many rows behind like she was a nobody. She helped Ted get elected for many years and put up with a lot...she deserved a better place close to her kids
At the time of the funeral, this issue was raised by the press. Joan's sister Candace McMurrey of Houston, said that Joan didn't want to intrude given that Ted had remarried and he and Joan had been divorced over 25 years by Ted's death.
Notice the close attention she paid to her sons as they spoke for their father. Those are not Vicki's children. History depicts a stunningly beautiful Joan Bennett Kennedy with a very handsome young Edward Moore Kennedy. Where she sits at this point is irrelevant. Vicki's not recorded in the Kennedy family annals. She entered at the sunset of his life.
