@RonJomero I watched video with my wife. She said what the f**k is wrong with you why would you watch this. I told her this one of the greatest bassists alive he's really playing with those hands.
You sir are a fierce player. I highly respect the fact that you present rhythm notation and it also shows how articulate of a musician you are. You're presenting the public solid work. I wish your channel much success.
So nice to see someone post accolades when they are due. RUclips is filled to the brim with jerks that try their best to bring others down, all while delivering nothing.
too bad his actual playing is sloppy and inaccurate. youd be able to tell if he didnt have it playing with the actual song, AND at the same volume level as it. its hard to notice because of that, but its there if you listen real close.
@@FingerinUrDaughter You can actually hear his bass tone just fine with the song. Maybe it is you who needs to listen closely. Pretty damn good cover. Post a better one or suck off.
As a professional musician... I have to say I've tried to recreate this tune, and you have done better than I did so I bow to you fine sir. Now take this shiny fiddle made of gold.
i mean, i started playin this year, and y play jerry was a racecar driver perfect, but tommy the cat,... i mean its not very hard, but i am left and i plsy bass in the normal orientation so my right hand doesnt moves very fast (in fact, to play my name is mud i play it with the left orientarion, so my slap hand is quuicker)
For anyone who doesn't know, you can adjust the playback speed in the settings for any video. It is super useful with a video like this. It's the only way I could figure out what was going on in certain parts of this song.
Maybe the most ridiculous bass song ever. Claypool is a monster... And you seem to be able to play anything perfectly! OMG! One of my favorite songs of all time btw.
It's just a bunch of innuendos. According to the Primus biography, Les Claypool got the idea after a beaver scared him when he got back to shore from fishing in the dark.
THANK YOU for this video, my dude. Not only are you completely nailing the song and Les' technique, but your bass tone is SPOT-ON, for all parts! From what I've seen by searching online, you're the only one (at least here on RUclips) who accurately plays/tabs out the section with those insane natural harmonic triplets (around 2:19). Also, just in general...adding the tablature to your cover/tutorial is WAY fuckin' cool! Keep that up, my friend! You SUCK, and so does Primus!
I'm going through a tough breakup these days. It's been weeks actually and it's just tough to be in a good mood - this is no joke. This video, Les's insanity and your phenomenal interpretation sir... made my laugh hard and made my day for good, bless you!!! (Now, where's my bass?)
why is this the first time I've seen any of your videos? of all the years I've been reading shit tabs and now this pops up. I'm gonna binge on all your videos.
Dude... after almost thirty years of playing this incorrectly, you have given me the answers! One of these days I might get Tommy The Cat right, but I'm not betting on it. I can play almost all WBBB with confidence now though, so Thank You!!!
What I love about songs from Claypool is that they always sound interesting and just great, but when you break them down, they really aren't that hard, sometimes they're just fast like this song. Sometimes, like "My Name is Mud" they use a weird triplet that can be difficult to pick up quickly, and sometimes, like "Jerry was a Race Car Driver" it involves two-hand tapping. I slowed the video down and was able to get this quickly. WBBB isn't difficult, it's just fast, and that is an important difference. You, YES, YOU can play fast if you practice enough. Thank you CoverSolutions!
This is the first bass song I’m learning and I ain’t gonna lie I think it’s gonna propel me forward pretty fast Insanely accurate playing Only guy I come to for bass
Maybe use a bass with a humbucker pickup and master the techniques he likes to use (slapping, flamenco strumming, tapping, and fast fingers). I know I'm not much help but I tried.
Because of you, I can now play this song!!!! I have watched this video probably 20 times till i got it cause most of the tabs out there just didn't suffice. Thank you.
@Conrad Nickelson. Jerry can be done on a 24 fret 4 string and sound fairly similar. It's not like My name is mud or something, where you REQUIRE that extra string.
This is awesome. I was listening to different bass covers and after hearing this one and bookmarking it, I am not listening to any other samples. Time to make a bologna sandwich. Again, dude. Excellent work!
That one's actually easier, as it has more repetition. (Believe it or not, that was one of the first songs I learned to play on bass, without tabs. This one however, has got so much details going on that change throughout he song)
Dhakadice, one of the first songs that you learned huh? I’m assuming you mean fully because there is no way you started playing tap bass so early and if so that’s a dumb choice.
dude that was awesome...inspired me to learn it .....been working on that strumming technique and now I know who taught it to Geddy! No coincidence that Geddy started his flamenco style around the same time Claypool was rising up!
Anyone know I good way to practice the little triplet flair that goes 10,10,9 on the G to the 10 on the D? It's very tricky and I'm not sure how to do it well. Would love to know :3
It's not that hard tbh. (Saying from my experience) What he does is he 3 fingers it. This means plucking the strings with your ring finger. He hits the first 10 with Ring, Next with his Middle, and finally hits the 9 with his index and brings that up to the D string.
I've studied classical guitar and still do while playing bass. This 3(or the way I perform it, I also use the thumb, so 4)finger technique is called tremolo. And yeah it's a tough bastard, but you slowly begin to play it easier each time. Just search the web for tremolo exercises, and if you're interested in a piece that shows tremolo in it's best, search the Recuerdos de la Alambra by Andres Segovia

And how in all hell he plays it so naturally as well, it's unreal
Lots and lots of weed.. 😂🥴
Drugs. A lot.
I love how les plays a fender jazz in the music video but plays stuff on the 24th fret.
Well yea it's les Claypool he can do anything
I'm also mostly sure he didn't play with giant foam-plastic hands on the album recording, as he did in the music video, either. Mostly sure.
