Your effort was beyond expectations. I think a Yin Yang sticker would define the first one. 😇
The 2nd coaster is crackled. I believe it’s just the red & green colors. other colors work fine. Love watching the time lapse!! Thank you Michelle for everything
Second one looks pretty. Lots of crackle in it. ❤❤❤ the effects. I wonder if a fairy flower crackle would work? Great tutorial. 🥰 always good to learn something. 🥰
Maybe one color for each coaster with the transparent black in the bottom, and perhaps something in the middle..? 😂😮
I like the first coaster, you could put gold glitter down the centre line and fan it out in graduated lines, then top coat. I did that on coasters before ❤ I posted a photo in Facebook group as my explanation is not the best 😅
I know exactly what you mean!
#2 was the best. If you find a wreath charm or sticker for the center… oh yeah!
The crackle effect looks great, the colours just don’t work. Thanks for sharing Michelle, I look forward to your videos in a morning 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I think it looks great. Love it.the first one is unique to say the least. But the second one turned out beautifully. 😊😊❤
Thanks for the tutorials always interesting and informative ❤❤❤
I like it and i think it turned out good as i think that everything you make is pretty and since i have been watching your videos i have learned a lot and i think that you are a good teacher. Thank you for your videos
Thank you so much Mary!
😊that was a very good tutorial. Thanks
Thanks for the experiments. Always helpful ❤
thank you for experimenting.
It’s crackled!!! Thanks for sharing…I’ve been working on crackling myself…these tips are very helpful😋💯❤️
Talk about glitter I was cleaning out my mold and I thought dang my glitter got everywhere. Then I realized the tape wasn't my problem. The glitter was in the mold.😂 the same size and color as the one I had just been playing with.! 🤣
DO IT! 😇
Looks like lava. Careful you don't trigger people in Iceland. 😮
Oh LOL
Thanks for doing the Christmas Crackle Michelle. I enjoyed the video 😊
I wished on the second one you did it with clear like the first one… I bet that would have been pretty
Yes most definitely you need the clear in the middle! It’s beautiful though!
I like the 2nd one it’s pretty, I think it works out better with the clear at the end though ❤️thanks for sharing 😊
I like the 2nd one. Thank you!
wow i'm surprised!
I’m impressed with the second one I always thought those two colors would make mud
I think if you should add a Grinch grin over the green part of the split coaster. The red would make his hat. At least it would still have a use.😂
LOL good idea!
Although it did not turn out how you wanted it, we all get a chance to learn with you. Like the Green, though not sure if the Red works for me. Maybe another colour. Thank you Michelle. ❤
Not to bad. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
When I did the crackle by accident I poured my transparent layer last. I did a dirty pour as well with the colors.
Interesting!
It's interesting I quite like the second one but yes hmmm two colours not so pretty 💚❤ thankyou for showing us tho
I like the second one. I like that green and not because it's my favorite color. That is a beautiful green. The colors are very pretty together just not with this crackle. Thanks for sharing
PLEASE don't worry. You always do wonderful ❤❤
those aren't just Christmas colors, they're watermelon colors too. maybe add black seeds to the first one? the red or green with a gold crackle would be festive.... not sure how to do that!
Just FYI, I didn't use the clear in the center of mine and it worked. I think it's all about having a transparent color and then an opaque one. I'm just guessing. 🤓
it turned out good, would may have used a touch of gold rather than the black.
What about yellow and blue or red and blue
just a thought .... may be use red ink and then the green instead of the two as opak colors. no matter I like the last one, think the rotating of colors helped.... just guessing on my part .
I don't think I've ever seen you do a crackle w/o the clear push coat over the center to finish it before curing. Hmmmmm, anyhow, the 2nd one is pretty, but missing the red for the Christmas effect.
It wasn’t the best result but maybe you can draw a line with glitter between the red and green and then topcoat it! With the other maybe something in the middle. Thank you for sharing ❤️💚
That’s what I’m thinking too 😊
Silver or gold for the center😊
Interesting outcome!! 🧐 would a dirty pour make a difference? What about that green with gold?? I liked the experiments!! Thank you ❤❤❤
I am thinking the red weights less then the green i believe that was what was the problem because the green has the metallic flakes in it
my guess- mica doesn't disolve to colour, it just disperses so there are going to be variants in the density which allows the clear push to break through. I've created this effect by accident and I can only get it to reproduce with a push with the transparent resin. Good luck!
I believe someone did an experiment as well and did a clear push at the end and it did crackle but couldn’t see it. They then put a slight tint to the push then it worked. What about if you do red and green, with green being the push to the red?
You do need a push or clear at the end, it forces the colors to move out and then work their way back in. Resin tends to move from outside to the middle. So what I would do is one red and gold and another green and silver. Just enough gold and silver to go around the outer edge in a thick line, maybe 1/2-3/4oz. So I might do 4oz per coaster with 3/4oz in gold or silver. Then maybe 2.25oz of color and the rest 1oz in clear. Or even 2 oz color and 1.25 of clear.
So if doing the red I would start with the gold and pour it as close to the crystal edge as I can get it. Then just inside the gold I would pour my red in a ring which will probably close up in the center. Then pour my clear in the middle to push it all out and start it working.
If that turned out I would do the green the same way.
I think it would look very Christmas if the gold or silver does help create crackles. 😊❤
Do you think it will work with metallic? I only ask because metallics are heavy and fall to the bottom and take over. At least that's my experience. 😊
@@Ali-H3444 I've seen it be used and turn out great. The key is not using too much. That's why I said only .50 to .75 oz out of about 4oz. It's also good to not be heavy handed with the metallic mica when mixing. Because it can easily take over you don't need as much metallic mica in the same amount of resin to do the same thing. So if you were coloring say 1oz each of a metallic and a color. You might use a good heaping scoop of the color in that 1oz to get a good opaque color, but only use half or a quarter that amount of the metallic to get the same results.
Meant to mention don't use a metal powder. Like the Let's Resin metal powder set. Be sure you use an actual mica. It's makes a huge difference.
I think u have to use clear in the middle
What about a silver base ❤
The second one is better.
I'm wondering if your live edge is messing with your results?
Or maybe you should put the clear in the center afterwards?
This has me stumped! Everytime I did the crackle effect, it worked. But I never used a mold that deep to do it in. Good luck😊
You experiment so I don’t have to, lol. Honestly I like the first one more, LOL. But I’ve never liked red and green together. Don’t know how Christmas got those colors, lol
good comment, I have no idea why Red and Green either now that you mention it!
When you use the pump jugs do the spouts need to be covered between use? Do they dry out or what do you suggest?
Mine have never dried out, I haven't had any issues with them so far.
Like the second one better I would put a Santa in the middle of the second one for the first one what can you do now to jazz it up?
First one turn it sideways its a Santa hat on a grinch...another future layer of resin....lol
I you do beautiful work end I want to learn how to work it. How do I know which resin to use?
I link all the products and discount codes in every description box of what I’m using 👍
There's something different about the red. I wonder if you tried an eye candy red. The red looked different.
This is the only thing I had closest to red, I don't have a red pigment paste. Also if I did use pigment paste instead of mica there would have been a drastic difference in how it would have reacted together. I should try that again!
Thanks for wasting your resin instead of ours and i mean that in a positive way. I wonder if you use the black either way but put the whole of 1 colour around the outside and the second colour all in the middle?
Red, gold and green?😢 or silver?
Not the best I've seen you do, but they're not awful. Maybe if you used primary, or even, secondary colours, you would get another colour, other than mud xxx
What kind of torch are you using
It is linked in the description box for you.
🥰
I think it’s still good to show experimentation. Not everyone goes as planned.
Ok, here’s a question I need help with. I see you utilize a heating mat. I do too. Yet, I’m not sure what/when is it best to use it? I don’t have a curing machine. I work with so many art media, and can’t afford one. Do you, or others here like them?
Not Michelle but I have a heating pad and LOVE IT. I pour, wait for it to jell a bit, then move it over to the heating pad. I’ve never had to go over 4 hours for it to cure. And it’s a LOT cheaper than a machine, lol.
I agree with Jane's comment here as well. I like both, not one over the other. They both do the same thing. I do wait till it gels up as well before using either of them.
@@janeanwesthues6389 I sincerely appreciate you sharing this tip!

My ears must be messed up from the fan in the giant inflatable turkey outside my apartment because I thought I heard "castin resing" 😂 at 1:00
(Editing this as I watch)
Also, that red mica powder looks the same (at least on my screen) as the red I have from unicone art but the one I have is called chili pepper, I wonder if they changed the name at some point or if they're slightly different colors?
Yep you heard right LOL castin' resin LOL I had to go back and watch it LOL. My red is Unicone art as well.
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 LOL That's funny, I needed that. Thank you 😂
It's a very pretty red
