Beautiful! I think you should leave the center the way it is. I like the "spacey" looking one too. I'd love to see more crackle videos. I tried it tonight and it doesn't look like it's working. We'll have to see for sure tomorrow. I'll keep trying. I'm not gonna let it beat me!
I’m going to try it in green and black later today with this mold. I’m glad I read the comments because I learned plain mica, lol. I love space pieces so it’s cool knowing I can make I t by doing what you did on the small one, lol

Yes the crackle effect works best with regular mica. And yes you can only use translucent color to get veins. I've had to learn this on my own too so don't feel bad 😊 I've been doing resin for over 3 years now.

Ut oh, she's on a "crackle roll"!!! LOL It's gorgeous! I would leave it, my usual vote, looks like the opposite of a "black hole" in space. Yep, I've found that quite a few of the white micas have added glitter in them - gorgeous, but sometimes not necessary.
Well the label eluded to that but I wasn't prepared for that much LOL. I still loved it....

It is cool! So interesting how that perfect little clear spot is right in the middle and it radiates out from there. Wonder how red and gold - holiday colors - would turn out?
Absolutely beautiful. I wonder how it would look with an interference mica mixed with your creamy white. So cool. Maybe purple veins with interference gold.
The larger one resembles malachite or black amethyst. Maybe back coating it with an opaque would add some depth to that center.

I like it! It’s not the regular crackle, but that’s certainly OK. I would put so,etching in the center if you plan on putting cork on the back. ❤❤

I don’t think you should put something on top of the hole, but I think it would be cool to put something BEHIND the hole. Something peek-a-boo. A surprise of some kind. Maybe someone’s eye looking back at you through the hole… I don’t know. Something unexpected would be fun, though.

Love it! If you want to close the hold up in the mold just wait about 20 minutes or so after pouring and suck out the center with syringe until you no longer see clear. About 1 to 2 syringes and it will close up the hold. Also if you change the your clear resin ( your last color poured in) to another transparent color the coaster will look more like a eye pupil. I call it my dragon’s eye. I love cracking effect.
Great idea!! I have all these syringes too and forget to use them LOL. Actually I couldn't tell from the back that it was going to leave a hole like that, I actually think it's kind of cool.
i am new to the resin world , and i don't mean to sound dumb, but if you are sucking the clear out, can you just skip it and only use the 2 colors and still get the same affect?

It's really cool looking! I tried your crackle technique on 4 coasters, and 3 of them were beautiful, but the 4th one was a solid color! Lol! I have no idea why! I did them exactly the same! 😊 I love your experiments. I learn so much from you!

Michelle I know how to fix the black one I saw it in a tutorial a girl did coasters just plain black then when they completely dried she took UV resin and some gold glitter and made a paste and made star burst it came out awesome
Coaster #2 is cool, just not what you wanted. The original mold looks super cool! Obviously the silver colorant definitely had glitter in it because both coasters definitely show glitter.
The mica had a bunch of glitter I wasn't expecting!

I was thinking maybe 2 different colors of mica in separate cups And still use the black or semi opaque black as your background color I would love to see if that blends together or if it will leave rings of color Hope you had a great weekend god bless❤

If you pour them at the same time they will be very similar, but being liquid you just never know what to expect..
Michelle this is beautiful. I have the Let’s Resin casting resin. Do you leave your pump on. I am not sure so I did not attach them. Very simple but elegant results.
Yes you leave it on. I actually don't put mine on anymore because I use too much and I'd be pumping like crazy! LOL
I still need some of that unicone crushed crystal and when I reached out to them about selling to the UK market im told its on amazon USA but nope its outta stock, and December is fast approaching , and another stunning piece the colours are amazing together
Hello I'm in the UK too and in the same boat, when I went to b+m the other day and they had glitters to go in paint - so I bought the 3colours they had - mixed a little cup with them and because it's so fine it stayed suspended in the resin - not quite the same colours as unicone but equally as pretty - I hope that may help your Christmas resin. 😊
