People complain about how his century never translated to a lot of victories but can you imagine playing your heart out, scoring century n losing that match? Doing that again n again? Keeping that motivation up? The god played cricket with heart and class. There is only one god and everyone else is just a imitation of him.

@@lv7601 well Kohli is not an opener and the guys who come in front of him is Rohit sharma and shikhar dhawan who averages in high 40s. Kohli never got the chance to face reverse swing that's why he stays till end because of two new balls and he also has benefit of having an extra fielder inside till 40 overs. Only people with no knowledge of cricket would say Sachin's century was selfish. Had Sachin was playing today he would had made 150+ centuries.

Such was his dedication and discipline to cricket when I see today I feel like records followed Him he was just a pure devotee to his work.those few things
1. He was the first to score a 200 in men's odi.he was then 37 and after him 7more 200s have been scored.
2.he played very less T20 games until the IPL came.he got 100 at the age of 38 got orange cap.
3.this is probably his work ethic he has highest world cup tally of 673....Hayden 659 Rohit 648 Warner 647 all came so close but couldn't get over him.

Being a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar, I am always in awe of him, but the way Harsha Bhogle speaks of him, never thought the respect for him can grow in me. I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of his innings where Harsha is commentating. He surely is his biggest fan. It is a huge honor for Sachin too to have a fan like him.

Yes absolutely no doubt he is the god of cricket for a reason.Through his whole career when he started playing in 1990 struggled to score runs but as the time passed in 1999 and afterwards he rose up and brought light to India by continuing that consistent form.In the middle of the career he got injuries many times but the determination and courage didn't let him stop and in 2011 eventually he played the last World Cup and proved to be the Master Blaster.

He was quite something. I think his last ODI match was the only match we got to see him have a really substantial partnership with V. Kohli, his successor in all forms of the word. I know there are people who will point at stats of other players currently playing and say that they were better because they had better averages and Kohli will undoubtedly break his ODI century record soon enough, but I think comparing ODI careers is especially difficult across generations. The ODI game has changed so much, its basically unrecognizable from what the ODI game was during the 90's when Sachin played at his peak. The rules have changed to benefit batsmen, bats have only gotten better, pitches have only gotten flatter, and I would say the standard of bowling has dipped considerably. So its very tough to say anything. I think the only way to compare ODI batsmen is to compare them with batsmen who played in the same era. Sachin was far ahead of his compatriots in ODI cricket, especially when you take out his first 70 games. He will always be my favorite of all time.
Nikunj Dixit very well said. They are no Wasim Akram, Waqar, Walsh, Ambrose, Mcgrath abd Shane Warne and Murlidharan. So it’s criminal to compare him to today’s generation of cricketers. And common he still has the world record for the most Test hundreds and the most Test runs as well. And test cricket is the purest version of all.
@@djimran1985 I think its difficult to argue against the fact that he was the best cross format player. He has all the records in ODI's and all the records in Test's. He even did well in IPL T20 when he was playing. Its hard to imagine having a career that long, let alone being so consistent for that long.
