I’m most excited for Captain Rex’s Y-Wing, Johnny Thunder, the Iron Legion battle pack, Surtur, Tournament Battle Arena (Evil Jay!!!!), Microscale Disneyland Castle, some of the Minecraft sets, and Zelda. I can’t wait for that I’m soooo hyped
I realize now that if Zelda follows thru with the rumor of releasing in the September, I’d say that’s a Fall set, meaning it’s out of the count for Summer (and ripe for a Fall video hmmm 🤔)
1:24 same man, I was way more into city and ninjago but even then the 2 or 3 star wars sets I got in 2014 were insane. Not only are the minifigs worth more now than the retail price of the whole set was then, but the minifigs themselves, the builds, everything was awesome.
Ninjago 100%, def being Temple City and the Dragon! Dragon is SUPER sturdy, and the designer did a great job for his first big dragon! Temple City isn't the best, but as some cool figs! The mech looks real good, but I hate how things drop everything u move it - still real cool tho! Oh and that dreamzz raven is so good! Great way to get awesome figs!
The mech is more for display so I’ll take just posing it and leaving it be. I will say tho. The Temple City makes the Temple of Airjitzu feel dated. At least imo. It’s the “this was clearly made in the 2010’s” dated as opposed to it actually feeling like a bad build, mind you
@PenPlays personally, I feel like the temple city doesn't feel complete. It's connection with the battle arena doesn't look that great, and 3.4k pieces at a $250 price tag when compared to other ninjago sets feels lackluster, so maybe 600 or so more piece to complete this would work great! As for the mech, def a good display piece, I just personally hate having to put things back on every 2 seconds. The functionality on that set is amazing, especially the knees and feet - but one fig :(
Heck yeah this is a great list! Cole’s mech is probably my most hyped summer set, and with every review or video I see on it, the hype grows even more. Lego really brought their A game this summer! Now I just have to work on budgeting for all these great sets… 😅 Also I love the little bit at 7:56 you should definitely incorporate this kinda thing more
Budgeting is the hardest part. Truthfully idk when I’m gonna get any of these sets, because there’s still so much old sets I wanna enjoy. I’m glad you enjoyed
I feel like I'm the only person who's really exited for the dancing potted groot set. Everyone's saying its an ugly pile of garbage, but like... no? It looks pretty cute to me, and that dancing feature (depending on how it end up working) could make this set amazing. Also gonna get the milano and the tournament battle arena. I already have the benatar and the bowie (I know the bowie is technically a different scale, but they look great together). I don't feel the need to get the larger tournament temple city, even though it would be awesome to have, but the smaller tournament battle arena is enough for me. Not to say I don't like other sets (cole's titan mech, source dragon, temple city, celestial pagoda, etc.), but these 3 are the ones I'm 99% sure I'm gonna get
Oh man, that new Cole Titan Mech is practically a Lego Gundam, and I thought my Zane Titan Mech was peak, but what I’m really excited for is the Source Dragon, not because of how amazing it is, but for what it brings to the table, and the possibilities for future Source Dragons, which is what I’m actually excited for, maybe we can get one for every ninja, and MAYBE we could finally get the Source Dragon that powered up Lloyed in season 1, and if Lego loves us enough, we could get a huge orb to encase the dragon for display, but that’s just me
I'd say my most anticipated sets for the summer are (in no particular order): The Batman TAS Batmobile, Barad-dur, The Milano Spaceship, the Surtur Construction Figure, Tournament Battle Arena, the Source Dragon of Motion, the Master Emerald Shrine, the Egg Drillster, and potentially Cole's Titan Dragon Mech + the new Star Destroyer Edit: Also assuming the Bumblebee and Zelda rumors are real, they'll he on the list too
Something I find interesting I still haven’t seen anyone mention with the celestial pagoda is being able to take the side tree and water fall off and combine it with the other monkie kid play sets. And what I find even better is Ninjago’s play sets also have the same connection and I got a whole space for the hide out, pagoda, and tournament city + arena.
Are the spots really identical between the Pagoda and the Temple City? No one ever talks about how pretty much all of the MK buildings combine, even tho we’re 4 years in. It’s insane
@@PenPlays when I get both sets in hand I’ll do my test but from what I’ve seen they should be able to go together. The pagoda isn’t advertised as being able to combine with anything but they do have an image showing parts that can be removed allowing connection
My plans are to pick up the Captain Rex's Y-Wing, Boarding the Tantive IV, and 501st Specialists battle pack before I head off to university. Other sets that grab my fancy are the Imperial Star Destroyer which I'll probably try to get next year and get last year's Ghost and Phantom 2 this year. Superheros has the BTAS batmobile, Avengers Leviathan, and Iron Legion battle pack all as sets I like but won't rush out to get. City's Lego Truck and Harbour are both cool, but I rarely get City especially since I'm operating off of a student's budget and I just prefer Star Wars and Superheroes. But the best set is Barad-Dur, it joins the ranks of the Daily Bugle, Betrayal at Cloud City, Mos Eisley Cantina, and, of course, Rivendale as a white whale that I'm happy to get 10-30 years in the future whenever the time is right. After I would argue a lackluster start to the year, Lego's kicking things up a notch this summer
LEGO sets don't get discounts until about 2 months after they launch. Usually not much more than 20% off. Throughout the year, some retailers will clearance out sets around the time new ones arrive. Usually discounts then are much deeper. If you shop primarily for 18+ sets, however, discounts are very very rare if the set is over $150.
Do it do it do it Regarding Gunpla, if you need advice. I recommend getting a High Grade to see what it’s like as those are the easiest without being too simple. Master Grade and Real Grade are where I personally fall, but man if I cared enough, I’d splurge just to experience a Perfect Grade once on my life. You know, if LEGO didn’t already come for my soul.
Hate the upcoming Imperial Star Destroyer. I, like you, do not own one and wanted one. Guess I'll have to wait longer. The 2014 is easily superior. Yes, that is bigger is a plus. But it also looks better. More importantly, the proportions are more accurate. The new Star Destroyer is stubby. I just can't. Luckily, my favorite ninja is getting the greatest mech ever!!
