Okay, i'm going to answer a lot of the questions you had in this video... Please read carefully as i'm giving you a short hand run down of it all. For context Megadeth has had 18 official members over the years.. In this video the drummer is Jimmy DeGrasso he was with the band from 1998-2002 the lead guitarist (melodic) was Al Pitrelli he was with the band from 2000-2002.. There is no doubt though among fans that we are presently witnessing the strongest line up since Friedman, Menza musically and as a band unit.. New album on the way.. Just finished a European tour with Five Finger Death Punch and are now heading home to record album number 16 and the second for this line-up. Megadeth is Dave Mustaines band that he formed upon being kicked out of Metallica.. The band was created almost immediately.. It had a different name at that time 'Fallen Angels'.. At least that was one of the names they used and Mustaine liked.. They had a song called Megadeath that a then early and relitively brief band member suggested that they change the bands name to Megadeath... Mustaine actually wasnt so keen at first.. But they, but mostly Ellefson pushed it enough that he saw the light and agreed choosing to instead drop the a from Death.. (I have a theory that it has something to do with Mustaines love of the film/book A Clockwork Orange and in particular a form of speaking and language the youths use to communicate called Nadsat, but that's just a theory of mine to be clear).. Ellefson is basically a founding member... Mustaine has said that the band was born on the Grey Hound bus after the firing from Metallica there were no other founding members but him in that moment.. But Ellefson was the first consistant element in the forming of what we know today as Megadeth.. To fans of the band from album 1 to present Megadeth has always been a shifting beast with consistent output and quality with varying genres but their main bread and butter being Thrash Metal a genre Mustaine created as a founding member of Metallica... No Mustaine No Thrash Metal.. Its that simple.. He's one of the most successful and THE most influential Thrash Metal artists of all time and the father of the genre... Personally having sold more than 100 million albums.. From his work being used on several Metallica albums in the beginning (Their most successful stuff) to Megadeth.. This is why after 37 years in the game he is still releasing music to this day that kicks ass.... Dudes a riff master nobody should be able to produce riffs that are as fresh as him after that long but he does... They will be touring the US later this year after the recording of the new album... You really should go and see them live.. Added bonus you get to also see Lamb of God, In Flames and Trivium at that show.

There's no such thing as a bad Megadeth line-up but I'd say Mustaine-Poland-Gar-Ellefson is my fav followed by Mustaine-Friedman-Ellefson-Menza, Gar & Nick were two amazing drummers that left this world far too soon. Good Channel you have guys I love the enthusiasm for music you show.
I lean towards the original line-up as well...but I'm admittedly biased. One thing you can absolutely say is that whoever Dave brings with him, all are next level as far as skill on their respective instruments. And, Megadeth has always stayed true to what they are...a little bit of "experimentation" over the years aside.
That first line up is very under-rated, because everyone gravitates toward the RIP line up. But, man the Gar/Chris line up is like no other and the music they produced was really unique for a thrash band. It had that progressive jazz fusion influence Megadeth hasn't had since. I love Marty and Nick, but Poland is a beast and doesn't get the recognition he should. And Gar, to me is still the best Megadeth drummer they've had. I think Dirk is very much in that same vein and I cannot wait to hear what he does on the new album.
Dave Mustaine has a talent for finding the best. His lead guitarist and drummer now are just as good as that. Going to my 1st concert next month! It's never too late
Ive seen Megadeth live 3 times through the decades . And Ill tell you guys , what I didnt expect , was the thumpin bass . Its there in albums , but yr not prepared for the thump lol . It is just pure magic

Megadeth are legendary band very few weak spots across their releases and then really thats subjective.. Example being some fans don't like the more rock/pop stuff that they dabbled with in the mid to late 90s, some fans really love that era of the bands music.. They've been really smart and have grown their sound.. There is Pop Megadeth to Rock to Heavy Metal to Thrash Metal to Speed Metal to even Country..

To answer your question about the lineup, two of the guys from this video departed the band later that year on 2002: drummer Jimmy DeGrasso and guitarist Al Pitrelli. Bassist David Ellefson left but came back in 2010. The constant is guitarist-singer-main songwriter Dave Mustaine. However, there is no such thing as a "bad" Megadeth. You MUST be a virtuoso with your instrument to play in Dave Mustaine's band.
@@fatherandsonreactions a recommendation: the studio version of the song "Dystopia" from the album of the same name will have you guys bouncing off the walls. Like this live version of "She-Wolf", the drumming and guitar solos are unreal. "Dystopia" has their current lead guitarist Kiko Loureiro on it, and he may be the most talented axeslinger Megadeth has ever had (and that is really saying something). Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler was a guest musician on the "Dystopia" album and he absolutely tore it up. I am absolutely certain you will enjoy that song, too.

Dave Musaine said himself it's about if you knew you were going to die what would you like to say to your friends and family. You can search on the internet and hear it from his own mouth. Different members. They’ve had numerous lineup changes over the years since their inception. But that song she Wolf was dynamite. I’ve never seen the live version because I normally listen to the album music by them. But it was fun seeing you guys digging the dual guitar solos and the surprise drum solo. That was friggin great. Heyo. Got a few prog. Metal songs (little to no harsh vocals) I think you may be interested in: Cynic - The Space for This Devin Townsend - Kingdom Animals as Leaders - The Woven Web Progressive Metal is kind of where Tool lies in. A genre that implements different time signatures and mixes up the flow a bit. But they're not like Tool at all. There are many groups who have different sounds within that genre. The above groups are a different from what you've listened to, so while I'm not sure if you'd get into them, they'll be different experiences. 🙂
Their lineup changed many times, Dave Mustaine (singer, guitarist, songwriter) is the only one who is always there. Elefson, the bassist it's on everything except one album. I think this is the band I've seen the most live. Electric Factory, Trocadero, BB&T/Tweeter/Whatever, the Planetarium (yes, the planetarium). Dave has lost the vocals a little of late, but the music is still great. Essentially, Dave Mustaine is Megadeth, along with Dave Elefson.
The line up in this video was pretty short-lived as it only lasted one studio album and the tour for that album. Dave Mustaine (singer and guitar player) and David Ellefson (bass player) are the only two consistent members of Megadeth, and there was even a period of time not too long after this show when even bass player Ellefson wasn't in the band. Megadeth is pretty much Dave Mustaine's baby, with other guys hired to help fulfill his vision. That being said though, the other guys in Megadeth are most always REALLY GOOD
I wouldn't say this is one of Megadeth's best songs, but those lead trade-offs were insanely good! The drum solo was pretty good too. I've never seen this video but a big "Thank you!" to whoever suggested it...this is some great stuff here! To tell you the truth, I have never seen any live Megadeth before. Ya, I know...that's pretty lame, but I never really cared for live stuff before since I was used to old crap sounding live stuff from heavy bands and it just turned me off of live metal. In the last several years, I've been seeing that the recording quality has improved vastly, making shows much more enjoyable to watch for me. I'm rambling on here so I'll get to the suggestion: Quiet Riot - Metal Health...The album of the same name has the distinction of being the first ever metal album to reach #1 in the charts. Insane Performance
Megadeth are legendary band very few weak spots across their releases and then really thats subjective.. Example being some fans don't like the more rock/pop stuff that they dabbled with in the mid to late 90s, some fans really love that era of the bands music.. They've been really smart and have grown their sound.. There is Pop Megadeth to Rock to Heavy Metal to Thrash Metal to Speed Metal to even Country..

To answer your question about the lineup, two of the guys from this video departed the band later that year on 2002: drummer Jimmy DeGrasso and guitarist Al Pitrelli. Bassist David Ellefson left but came back in 2010. The constant is guitarist-singer-main songwriter Dave Mustaine. However, there is no such thing as a "bad" Megadeth. You MUST be a virtuoso with your instrument to play in Dave Mustaine's band.

@@fatherandsonreactions a recommendation: the studio version of the song "Dystopia" from the album of the same name will have you guys bouncing off the walls. Like this live version of "She-Wolf", the drumming and guitar solos are unreal. "Dystopia" has their current lead guitarist Kiko Loureiro on it, and he may be the most talented axeslinger Megadeth has ever had (and that is really saying something). Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler was a guest musician on the "Dystopia" album and he absolutely tore it up. I am absolutely certain you will enjoy that song, too.

Dave Musaine said himself it's about if you knew you were going to die what would you like to say to your friends and family. You can search on the internet and hear it from his own mouth. It is a beautiful but heavy song. Yes family friendly as well. BTW Dave is now Christian so his lyrics have changed a lot. Yes the members have changed The drummer passed away and the other guitarist has left, but the new drummer and guitarist are awe inspiring!

Different members. They’ve had numerous lineup changes over the years since their inception. But that song she Wolf was dynamite. I’ve never seen the live version because I normally listen to the album music by them. But it was fun seeing you guys digging the dual guitar solos and the surprise drum solo. That was friggin great. Megadeth has always been pretty tight musically wise. They never disappoint. Still waiting for you guys to jam to some Iced Earth “Dantes inferno”.

But they're not like Tool at all. There are many groups who have different sounds within that genre. The above groups are a different from what you've listened to, so while I'm not sure if you'd get into them, they'll be different experiences. 🙂

I think this is the band I've seen the most live. Electric Factory, Trocadero, BB&T/Tweeter/Whatever, the Planetarium (yes, the planetarium). Dave has lost the vocals a little of late, but the music is still great. Essentially, Dave Mustaine is Megadeth, along with Dave Elefson.

The line up in this video was pretty short-lived as it only lasted one studio album and the tour for that album. Dave Mustaine (singer and guitar player) and David Ellefson (bass player) are the only two consistent members of Megadeth, and there was even a period of time not too long after this show when even bass player Ellefson wasn't in the band. Megadeth is pretty much Dave Mustaine's baby, with other guys hired to help fulfill his vision.
That being said though, the other guys in Megadeth are most always REALLY GOOD
I wouldn't say this is one of Megadeth's best songs, but those lead trade-offs were insanely good! The drum solo was pretty good too. I've never seen this video but a big "Thank you!" to whoever suggested it...this is some great stuff here! To tell you the truth, I have never seen any live Megadeth before. Ya, I know...that's pretty lame, but I never really cared for live stuff before since I was used to old crap sounding live stuff from heavy bands and it just turned me off of live metal. In the last several years, I've been seeing that the recording quality has improved vastly, making shows much more enjoyable to watch for me. I'm rambling on here so I'll get to the suggestion: Quiet Riot - Metal Health...The album of the same name has the distinction of being the first ever metal album to reach #1 in the charts.
