Can someone help me, I want to get back into riding and I’ve been looking at the lt250rs because I want a 2 stroke quad and banshees and trx250rs are really expensive, are there any kits for the lt’s, like stroker kits? Or big bore kits. I have found almost nothing online as far as kits. Like for the Honda 250 there is tons of aftermarket. There isn’t really any kits above stock for the lt so I don’t really want one anymore. If you know of any please tell me

OMG I use to race hair scrambles and motocross in the late 80s and early 90s I had 2 lt250r 1 was a 86 and the other one was a 88 my 88 kicked some butt won 6 1st places at scrambles 8 1st places in motocross it chewed honda's for breakfast and banshee up for supper you and these videos brought me back so many memories I had to call my old riding buddies and now we are looking around my area for 1 so we can rebuild I want to tell you thanks and some dam good work and videos best on RUclips
I just build a Duncan motored lt250r from a junker and ebay parts. I did the eliminator port. A little too pipey with a. Short burst of high rev horsepower, but it’s still a lot of fun. I raced these back in the late 80’s early 90’s. I am in love with light two strokes.

Suzuki had the TS-X 50 92 in the same colors/ graphic. It was my favorite. I was 14. Really want a full series! I’m on the lookout for a 250r that I want to restore
THIS! is a proper PRO build. Every LT owner should watch your videos. You covered so many build tips I remember encountering. I only dreamed of having that rear end setup and an FTZ built motor and pipe. You are spot on with your part choices and the 91/92 suspension...with maybe a few exceptions...that carb? why? A 38mm PWK air stryker would be better? Also, a FTZ ported 1987 cylinder with intake parts would have been better? Possibly even better than that would be a 1986 RM250 FTZ worked cylinder with a RM single ring piston with no thrust washers could potentially produce the most power? (you have to slot the pipe collar for the bolts, but the RM cylinder bolts right on). I am amazed you still could get all the parts you did...A JP racing frame would have been nice (inventing a time machine and going back 30 years probably wasnt in the budget...lol)
Appreciate the enthusiasm and knowledgeable advice! Took a ton of time to gather all the intentional parts for this build! The carb was ported by FTZ and came with the engine and pipe when I got it, so I decided to keep it all together. I agree with the aftermarket grab bars. Luckily the Maier fenders are thick and pretty self-supporting. The last part of your first comment might be a little prophetic…🤔 Stay tuned to the channel!!

Nice work ,great video, are all the bikes in the background yours? I have a 85 and a 86 both are pretty good looking and running bikes. I live in Santee ca so I have had Lennard Duncan do some engine work on both bikes. The swing arms are definitely the weak point on the 85 and 86 models 92 looks way better.
Nice builds going through and watching them all, a quick tip when it comes to air box boots as I don’t like using the heat gun, I get hot water from the sink, make sure to let the water to run for a minute to get the fresh hot water from the hot water heater, put the water in a bowl and then just leave the end of the boots in the bowl to warm up don’t need to worry about heating it up too much in one spot as with the heat gun
Man I have been looking all over for a new OEM front hood but can never find one. Where should I start? BTW this is a perfect build with great detail and everything. This is great!
This helped immensely with some small detail stuff I had questions on my basket case '88 LT resto (first 2 stroke and it needed a ground up, great idea right?) and "order of operation" tips are going to save me some time for sure !
I finally found the the 85 250r that I raced as a kid and the swing arm is trash. How do I find a replacement? Can I do a swap for a later year? Please help

Quite a bit, but not as much as you’d think. I’m not sure an exact sure the total right now. Comparatively, Suzuki’s are usually much cheaper than the TRX’s and Banshees which is a huge plus for building a Suzuki

Either an MX build or or a desert build, maybe something in the middle. About how much money do you have into this build. I’m really liking the candy blue on the frame and motor.
I know this video is over 2yr since it was posted and hopefully you'll respond. I have two qaudracers a 85 and a 88 and need/want to replace the pivot bolt that slides thru the frame swingarm engine. They stopped making this bolt/it's obsolete. Does anyone make that bolt? Also that 92 is looking mint!
No, I had gotten them on the bike when I bought it about 4 years ago. Who knows when the previous owner had gotten them. Just rebuilt them and powdered the springs recently.
First tip is to subscribe haha! I’d join forums on Facebook for advice and for parts. Also, make sure that you’re the one to disassemble. Will be mush easier to reassemble if you see how it came apart. You can use all the links I used in my description to buy parts if you want it to be like mine.
Full-flight or something that I have in the works. I’m working on something that will be as inexpensive as the most inexpensive options currently, but will be superior to even the best options. Stay tuned
Sounds pretty killer! I’d assume for hill racing that it’s got an extended swing arm and a hopped-up motor. Would recommend getting a set of full-flight arms and an extended axle if you don’t already have them. Those two things and a headlight and paddles is all you’d need for a great dune bike! We mainly ride the QuadRacers in the dunes
It requires you use their chrome base layer. 2-stage powder coats are not for the faint of heart. Don’t put the chrome on too thick or there won’t be enough static for the blue to stick. Good luck!
Might need to put a video together on building an engine one day. In full transparency though, the engine building process (deconstruction, assessing the components, measuring clearances and such, reconstruction, tuning, etc.) is a fine art that takes years to master. I can read the manual as good as anyone else, but in all honesty, I prefer to send engines to professional engine builders because it relieves so much headache, they’ll do a better job, and it’s not unreasonable usually (there are so many tricks of the trade with the Suzuki’s that I’m still learning and I’ve been doing this for 10 years). I recommend sending engines to guys who have spent a lifetime building them. The motor in Project LT250r was built by Michael Steiner, but you can also send engines to Todd Witz, Jerry Hall, and maybe Robert Knippleberg (DrQ). You can find all of them on FB.
My best advice is to probably check eBay or ask on Facebook forums. There’s a chance you might be able to repair yours as well depending on how bad it is
@@jaegersracing about five splits on the right side, right where there isn’t much material where they decided to put bolts, and the kick starter return spring can’t do anything cuz the hole made for it also split. If I remember correctly this motor has been rebuilt about 10 times through out it’s life. My parents bought it new from the factory with purple plastic, I thought that was neat. The bike then traded hands a few times. We got it back a bout 7 years ago for me, Been piecing it back together slowly, one part at a time.
Im so conflicted about buying 2nd or 3rd gen 250ltr. Never had a chance to experience one and do not know anybody with one. Also everyone ( prob who don't have either.. lol) are so critical when comparing them to the 250r and Banshees. Can anyone tell me how these stack up and a cpl pros an cons..i was always told parts are.hard to.come by but what isnt.. Thank you if you can help
2nd or 3rd gen you probably won’t notice a difference. Both safe bets. Personally working on an entire line-up of parts for the LT’s. Will be right up there with the 250r’s and Banshees as far as aftermarket support. Should be about 6 months for everything. Very excited about it all! Will probably do an entire build-up of a bike just to show how much an LT will be able to be built up!

I have a buddy with his childhood 89 500 whos stating to resto his (il be telling him to keep on the look out for you) an now i want a 500 too of course lol. If i find a nice 92 lt250r im grabbing it. I did find a nice solid all there 87 zilla 500.. It would need a total resto in my hometown of all places for 5k$!! i think its worth 3kmax? Or if there other years to look for? Like how the later year 500s have a different A arm set up which was news to me...see im listing lol. Hole in exhaust so it needs a new exhaust since he patched the old one. How available are all the parts for a 86? Or are they hard to find? I want to do a rebuild on it. Please help! I never liked the after market grab bars because they lacked the fender supports....

Why wouldn’t you lube the aribox and the carb so it slips on easy? I know it makes it 10x easier for me
