The good ole days. Bought one way back in 1985 when they first came out and drove the paint off it, good times.

Love the LT 250r specifically the gen 3. The honda had over shadowed the Suzuki for some years now. Personally i like the Suzuki its power valves very reliable lightweight. Probably the lightest race quad ever made. For me a 2 stroke out handles the 4 strokes more wheel speed u can slide them around a lot easier. Anyway for $2000 u got a hell of a deal there. Thanks for sharing

Good video. I just dropped an 87’ motor into my 92’. The 87’ motor has gigantic intake reeds and Suzuki only did it for one year. Cheers 🍺

Wasn't to make money, it was all the EPA's fault, same reason you can't buy a mini truck like an S10, Hardbody, Toyota Pickup, or B Series anymore, damn EPA regulations.... give the government power they're not supposed to have and it always gets carried away.

Idk i remember when most everyone drank the 4 stroke cool aid. People were done with 2 strokes because everyone piped them had no idea what they were doing blamed it on the bike instead of themselves. . Then AMA allowed for twice the displacement with 4 strokes so they could compete against 2 strokes. It was all a sales gimmick by manufacturers not saying EPA had nothing to do with it. If it was all EPA dirt bikes would be all 4 strokes also still a lot of 2 stroke bikes out there. Look at snowmobiles ski doo’s Etech gets great fuel mileage and reliability. Arctic cars C techs and polaris clean fire all 2 stokes that get as good or better than some 4 stokes. This could of been the sanw with quads and bikes. Yamaha was the one that really pushed the 4 stoke development along in 97 with dug Henry winning the 250 championship on a YZF 400. The funny thing is Yamaha dumped all there 2 stokes in there snowmobile lineup probably one of the reasons Yamaha will no longer be making sleds after 2025. But Yamaha never dumped all there dirt bike 2 stoke but honda Suzuki and Kawasaki did. Lol!!
Idk think there is more than we really know or a combination of many things. Think the biggest thing is probably money look what the 4 strokes sell for. The maintenance cost double or triple the amount of 2 strokes.
Greed is probably the biggest reason for the loss of 2 strokes.
U can still buy midsize pickups there just under different model names now. Chassis always change nobody keeps making the same truck forever. Ya not as popular anymore because nobody wants like they did. When a full size gets as good or better fuel mileage than a midsize truck and only costs a little more why buy a midsize. Thats what happened to midsize trucks again greed they got popular the manufacturers kept raising the price till they didn’t make sense anymore lol!!
Now people buy a midsize because they might not think they have room in there driveway or think they get better fuel mileage when they don’t. People just caught on the whole scam of a midsize. At first midsize trucks were cheap got good fuel mileage they were a bargain. Another thing that killed them was HP wars once u start making HP the fuel mileage goes down. Its all about marketing people change there wants change needs change it all reflects on what manufacturers will make more of. Now midsize is getting popular again rumors of manufacturers making $10,000-$20000 trucks to sell again. To bad probably never see 2 stroke ATV’s again though. But hey ya never know could happen.
