Yeah the reason people hate help desk is the same reason people hate retail, you have to serve everyone, from the nice woman in accounting to the arrogant jerk who is the senior executive and do it with a smile; which sucks. If everyone was nice, nobody would hate it. At the end of the day, it does teach you how to deal with all kinds of people which can be a huge plus in your career. Just don't get stuck there.
So true! It takes great people to endure some of the crazy on the help desk. This is where the details of the process and procedure NEED to include elements to protect the humans!
